^ I'm loving it, the extra time is great to help get my shit together and get moved out there and in position. Keep in mind they still have to argue and draft up a regulatory framework to put this initiative in effect, and that takes time.

I'm anxious to see how this plays out...somehow in the end the people of Colorado will get screwed out of this. I'd bet some federal law or judicial proceeding will say Colorado can't vote on that because it goes against federal law...and then Colorado will just say to it's people, "Oh sorry but no matter how 54% of you feel you still can't do that".

If you don't believe me just hide and watch.....

what we need in colorado is local information. for example so far we have had no large celebrations - wtf? i wanna get out among us and burn a few large ones!

foremost in my mind is a place where we can connect with other growers. we need a genetics exchange!

local information is essential. if anyone here knows of any kiosks or websites for local canna information, please list them!! the people i talked to yesterday in Fort Collins had no idea what is going on locally or how to find out...

haha and we'll keep it that way. The true heads of these forums and local scenes have already made contact and are more than likely not celebrating as it's business as usual.

You gotta dig, I will say its taken me yrs to meet all these peeps, but they are the best of the best good people. I have the #10 post in this thread.

Citizens in Colorado and Washington overwhelmingly voted to legalize, regulate and tax marijuana in similar fashion as the more hazardous substance, alcohol, is already legalized, regulated and taxed. We request the president support a federal law requiring the federal government to protect - rather than undermine or overturn - these state laws and similar laws that other states pass in the future. Specifically, we request the president to support a pending congressional proposal that would amend the federal pre-emption section of the Controlled Substances Act (section 903) to exempt from the act any state provisions "relating to marijuana."

thanks for the link dorjie .......... but i am not sure that petitions mean anything to any of the political scum that are doing their collective best to "cockblock" anything that has the pro weed direction. i whole heartedly agree that the feds are fuckheads and they should legalize democracy and stay out of state policy. on the other hand we have no shortage of state politicians who are doing everything they can to ignore the will of the voters. ken buck and the folks he seems to work for have been a pain in both amendment 20's and 64's ass since the day they were written.

the drug warriors have lost the war and they know it, but that is not going to stop them from being pricks to the bitter end. i can only hope that people start remembering which politicians preach democracy during an election and then ignore the fact that more people voted pro pot than voted for them once the polls close.

once money and special interest groups get out of politics we might get to see true democracy in action ........... but i don't think we are going to see it happen overnight and i count on the fact that our politicians will do all they can to put as many roadblocks up as possible.

it's a sad situation IMHO, and i'm not sure we will ever see a change that will take "obstruction politics" out of the game

lead, follow or get the fuck out of the way should be "amended" to include .... if you are outvoted shut the fuck up and get over it. (that is not a jab at anyone who is not happy with who is in office as much as it is a shot at the assholes who actually are in office) ...... i'm really tired of all the finger pointing that these assholes ALL get away with. the sad part is they are playing to the crowd, and it seems to be what the crowd wants

Except you are a little too late, like about three years :)

Read the bill. http://www.regulatemarijuana.org/s/regulate-marijuana-alcohol-act-2012

Preference will be given to MMC's already in existence. Sure there may be spots opening in some counties, but don't count on it. Probably be a fraction of the # of dispensaries to start.

The other stuff takes effect as soon as Gov Hickenlooper signs it into law, he has 30 days. 2014 is the Retail part of it.

Knowing is half the battle.

Depends.

Depends.

after poking around on google earth and wikipedia.... i would think about buying land in the san luis valley... yes?

Water rights start at 35 acre plots (with exceptions if well is built pre....), but even that is subject to regulations about use (i.e. irrigation, how many acres). Colorado has very complex water rights system and that's because we have to let it flow to other states.

So if land is what you want, for the fields, make sure first. If you are just looking for a 35+ acre parcel to pop off a greenhouse, probably not a concern. Some area they won't mess with you for irrigating a small area...Just kinda depends.

Never lived in the Valley, but love the Sand Dunes. And the Sangre's are a badass range. You won't be too close to skiing though, unless you backcountry.

Saw on the news earlier a timeline for 64 saying it's expected to go into effect in January of 2014. WTF????....Bastards!!!

Is there anything that can be done about this? Any other change or ammendment to the current laws of this state would certainly go into effect this January. Democracy....yea right! Maybe it's time for a smoke out on the capitol steps, ya know a little friendly demonstration.

The personal possession, cultivation, etc. start as soon as Gov Hikenlooper certifies the vote, adding the amendment to the constitution - this must happen by Jan 4 (within 45 days of the election). He has no choice as to whether or not to certify, but he'll be waiting as long as possible for guidance from the Feds. (On that note, he had a conference call with AG Suthers and AG Holder on Friday, but reports say it was only 13 min long and give no details. [in parallel, the gov of Washington is scheduled to meet with AG Holder regarding I-502 next week I think. I'm bettin the Feds are gonna get their policy together by then and tell us the same shit]). The Jan 2014 date is what gives them the time to develop the tax & licensing schemes (though it seems that due to the Taxpayer's bill of rights aka TABOR law, any taxes will have to be put directly on the ballot next November).

I'm betting Obeezy's gonna leave the crackdown for the next president - this term's his chance to make his mark on history, and he's probably shooting for something other than continuing the failed drug war against the clear will if votes. That said, there are a few options for federal pressure in a few different departments, and my guess is someone's gonna go rogue.

Good news is Denver Metro Drug Task Force disbanded the day after the election due to "lack of funding".

Also, Washington the prosecutors have pardoned 225 misdemeanor marijuana defendants - it doesn't set any precedent per se, but it does indicate that at least in some places, Babylon will abide.

Doesn't matter bro I will find a way to make it happen regardless. I have established as a caregiver elsewhere for some time and that most certainly will play into it along with being a member of the "good ole boys."

Not talking about a dispensary either BTW, setting my sights a little higher than that...

Thanks for setting me straight. You have obviously done your homework, as opposed to myself. :thank you:

No big parties. If you rock hard, every day is 420. And please, no more "genetic exchange" farmers market ideas. They do em in Cali, great way to get mold or pests, and most of it turns out being fake or garbage anyway.

Good question - looks like 6 per person for now, however I suspect this will not be in addition to whatever your mmj plants are. So, if you had a red card for 6, you don't get 6 additional freebies. I assume just like mmj, we'll start to see municipalities passing plant limits.

On the good side of 64, Boulder County DA Garnett just pardoned all the pending marijuana possession charges!

Been wanting to get in here for days...... Hello fellow Coloradoans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have to excuse me a little. Been holding it in since the Nov. 6th.... still can't believe it.

Well, no news is good news. I figured before the election they were holding back (Feds I mean) so as not deflect any votes for O. Been watching real close since... Have to agree with Incred., O is going to wait and let the next guy do it unless something happens between now and then. He is up to his arm pits in alligators.

That being said..... the forests have been damn near silent and the natives have not beaten a drum. I believe everyone and their brother are putting seed after seed in the ground! There was a strange rustling on the morning of the 7th and it got louder all day... it was the sound of PLANTING! The Feds are going to circle their wagons around Colorado and Washington aaaallllll along the state lines because they know what is going to happen. Our processes are set, networks of connections made, some practice by those with an itch to sow....... and wwwweeeee aaaarrrrrreeee ooooooofffffff! Everyone there who is anyone or not even are expanding and quietly trying to beat all the others out the door because ..... the local prices are going to plummet. The only good thing is it is not summer. We are now going to far out pace our West Coast cousins. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT.

We will be fine, those of our friends here because the quality is going to plummet too. So much beasters are going to be floating by the end of next fall it will still look green on the prairie next damn Jan. (2014)

I wish I were wrong but been checking around and you all know it is true..... the second Green Rush is on.... going to be interesting. I worry a bit about the backlash we are going to get when it gets out of control.

Well, anyway we have front row seats.

Wwwwhhhheeeewww that feels better......

Peace

Was at a ASA meeting monday and got a call from the mayor's office asking why the DEA closed their office in Hilo. They are up to something.

While I don't know what's going on, I have a sneaky suspicion that the Fed will let the laws stand, but treat the boarders of the states much the same as the boarder of Mexico!

A second green rush is on for "Safe" land to grow,... but where to distribute?.... We all know that the Feds point of view is that "Nothing has changed" So while they may let it happen within state lines. I doubt they will be letting any cross that line!
