Some motherf*ckin' LED's

It sure seems like that sometimes. I think that might have something to do with extending the veg time to compensate. There is more to it than the size of the plant, but the maturity of it going into flower as well makes a huge difference.

Now that's an interesting concept.
Exactly how mature is a clone?
Maybe mature is the wrong word?
Maybe stabilized is a better description?

Observations:
When the clone is taken, what's it think'en. ( it's world just got rocked!)
Now it just has roots, and in my case, bam go into flower.

I have found that letting the clone veg for at least 6 days make a lot of difference in vitality and stability (health wise).

Is that because it is more mature as a stand alone plant, or because it has stabilized in it's environment?
or some of both??

Maturing as in getting older, aging. It stabilizes in that process, growing a root system is the critical part. In your case the clone is mature enough after 6 days. But the longer you let it go, the larger the root system, provided the container is large enough... larger roots, larger plants, larger buds. A stress on the plant that makes you wait another week or two because it isn't growing very fast might have a higher root:leaf growth ratio. I know most of my clones don't start to grow until they have a decent root structure.

In my current grow I started the seedling under the LEDs (blue spectrum and a lot of cool white) and I will preserve the actual spectrum for the entire veg period and for the first two weeks of 12/12 to keep the stretch minimal, and after that more warm white will be added for the third week of flowering and when the bud places will be defined the red LEDs will be switched on as well until harvest.

I have a separate veg area, and it depends on how many plants i'm vegging. I have a 4x4 t5 but I plan on replacing it. I used my led with only half the lights on the grapegod because there was already too much vegging under the t5 and it started doing much better. I plan on getting a veg led in the future.

also, have you tried vegging under the 180? I'd try it and see what happens.

never ran the 180 yet. its all set up but they are in a clonebox next to my 4x4 with the led in it. im just worried about the stretch

I finally cropped a couple lemon ice. They still hadn't quite swelled up like I had hoped, but the buds were still fairly decent size with little leaf. I was able to spread the 9 grapegod out a little bit more. Since they were scrunched up really close they stretched to about 3' on the tallest. Those were all under the 180EF in a 2.5'x2.5' area. I just need to crop some more plants so they can spread out. Now they're in a 2.5x4 but they are still too close.

and the main ggod budding out day 43

I wanted to chop it in a few days but I noticed one spot that looks like it was turning purple, so I kind of want to let it go a bit longer.... but it is taking up a bunch of space.

kind of hard to tell the purpling, but its in the center where the hairs changed. The crystals are all milky inside. this bud didn't form a tip, but rather is bowl shaped.

I'm not sure how much longer I'll let this one go. I'll have the space in a few days so it wont be an issue. Not much more purpling but very nice nuggage overall.

only way I've ever truly found to be sure is to check the trichomes under a jewellery loupe.....everyone has their own taste as to when to harvest.. me personally since I use it for pain, I let it run out until it's around 50/50 cloudy/amber......

Looks fantastic... you do the LED community proud man!!!!!!!!!

I go by how full and ready the bud looks, not how the triches have changed. You cant go by that with every plant, they don't always sync up. Sometimes the buds are more than ready but wont change for a few weeks. Another thing I look for is when it slows down water intake. When a plant sucks down a gallon of water per day its usually still growing pretty strong. Each plant has its own tell tale characteristics.

Its hard to tell what that purple spot is doing because its covered in milky trichomes. I was thinking that I could have cropped it a while ago, but now the lower buds have really filled out and will actually be smokable buds. I did minimal trimming on this plant to see what she was like by nature. The buds that have already grown to 'full' size are now in their later bulk out phase.

Day 49 (end) and you can see how much the leaves have turned yellow in 36 hours. Its a different light source but still a huge difference. I'll probably chop it down tomorrow or the next day. The hairs are starting to turn and it just stopped sucking down the water like crazy. I will harvest when it's dried out more.

Decided to chop it when the pot dried out. It was turning purple in spots on the lower buds, but I figure I"ll let the next one. This one weighs 149.1g wet, can't wait to see how much this dries to, but moreover smoking it in a few months after a proper cure. My hand was tired from holding that monster when trimming it up.
