It seems to me that on average the green strains are more potent than purple ones, but this is just my experience. It could be just bad luck with purples. But, there is many extremely powerful purples out there, like cristalin and GOT listed above.

Ive found the same as Friend,they differ in potancy some are stronger than others.
There's also less purple strains at the moment.
Ive had some bland tasting weak "purple" bud and some strong bud also.
That sour kush looks killer.

nepal x chitrali x purple haze

long cure

this one smells like incense. has more of a nepal and haze influence and goes for about 12 weeks, I forced it outside because otherwise in this weather here it wouldn't finish this nicely.

potency wise, it's not the strongest.. it's not something you will smoke and get mega high after the first toke.. it does creep a bit but after repeated tokes you will feel it's effect, it's a bit of a mindfuck and it sneaks up on you.. the long cured bud is a mindwrecker with little body, someone could claim the potency was stronger but I think it's just more inebriating while the indica dominant green phenotype has a more mellow effect after the long cure this one really messes me up.

I think purple strains usually don't have that very strong initial effect some green or more odorous strains have, I've read that people claim that the purple chitrals are weaker than the green, the male I used was a green male, so I can't give you a real answer on that one but It might be because of different terpenes.
