Got baked, had a beer and caught around 6 bass from my uncles pond.
Used blue/black salted plasic worm rigged wacky style. Funny thing the smallest bass put up the biggest fight, the largest didn't fight one bit just felt like reeling in a log.lol.
I'm really looking foward to musky fishing this fall, anyone else?
:woohoo:

Man i hate spring fishing. The bait arrives, but its so small you cant match the hatch for inshore topwater fishing. SQuid are to big to be used live, current running to hard out wide for a decent deep drop, and to make matters worse the baby black marlin are still a good 6-8 weeks away if they even make it with out getting swept off to reefs far and wide. This summer is going to be great and the baby blacks will make up for it even if i have to pack up the boat and travel to find the dangerous little tackers.

Always thought I disliked fishing...

Two weeks after some guy showed me what worked in the area and I'd figured out what they were talking about... I found myself stopping by the fishing spot on the way back from the store in the morning, in my slippers, no jacket and getting ready to cast.

Realized that it's not that I dislike fishing... I really dislike "not catching fish". LOL

Apparently I don't live far from the "Dream Stream"... will have to hit it sometime soon. Plenty of action in my local hole 2 minutes away though. :)

Regular casting gear with a clear float and a 4' leader to a fly. Find the 'hole' and you can get your limit of 4 in half an hour. LOL

Delicious! Mainly rainbow and cutthroat. :)

ole fly an bubble always does the trick. I usually use some berk garlic dough or gulp eggs on a bubble setup floatin 2 feet off the bottom with the filled bubble setup. It goes weight, bubble, pink plastic bead, swivel, vanish 2 lb leader line and a gamatkatsu red egg hook

Love fishing guys,
Mostly Pike or Carp for me. I especially like catching them toothy critters!
I go with a few friends and we bivvy-up for the weekend at our chosen water. We always get trashed - JD & Bud! It's a hoot but I do that for the crack. When I want to catch fish, I go on my own.
I had a pod set up, fishing with three carp rods one day. I had brought some fine bud I had been given by a pal & decided to roll one up. The bud was immense and I was truly 'blocked' when one of my rods jumped & line screamed off! I managed to grab the rod and strike the fish but I was convulsed with laughter. I couldn't help myself, I just creased up and couldn't stop! Other fishermen around were starting to stare & so I tried to control myself and get this fish in. Just then one of the other rods screamed off & that was it. I just fell about laughing. The old boy in the next swim had to come over and bail me out - it was comical. When we eventually landed both fish (19lb 9oz Mirror & 22lb 5oz fully scaled) He said to me with a raised eyebrow - "you need to stop smokin them teabags boy!" Priceless

Wahoooooooo!!!

Wahoooooooo!!!

Went down to Jamaica and did some fishing this last week... what an incredible day! At the end up it I landed 3 tuna, one skipjack, and 2 black fin's, and this gorgeous giant wahoo!!! All in all the group caught a few more Mahi Mahi and a handful more tuna's too. Some nice rastas on the beach cooked us up a delicious lunch the next day. The Wahoo was an incredible fight, that fella took out a couple hundred yards of line within a blink of an eye, he took about 20 minutes to get in and was a memory i'll never forget. Hooking into the fastest fish in the ocean was an incredible experience, these guys can swim up to 60mph! Much love friends, SL :rasta: :rasta: :rasta:

Nice fish vstagger! That looked like it was a lot of fun! Can't wait to put a hook in the water at the end of february. Gonna slay those largemouths! Might go out off shore this summer, haven't fished saltwater in close to 10 years.

Ha ha, smoething I never managed to do Cann.
My dad was a poacher - made gamekeeper in a big estate in Wales. he often took me fishing with him and although I learned almost everything from him, he out-fished me with ease! He knew every rock, boulder, turn and undercut in 'his' river. His record still stands - 34Lb & 28Lb salmon in one morning!
Man, I miss him :tiphat:

Been doing so much fishing lately, the gods are smiling on me :)

Smallmouth Bass 1 1/2 lb
Largemouth Bass 2 1/2 lb
Local tilapia - to small for the pan
Local reef fish in gullies, pan size lotsa fun and good eating!
Had 30lb braid snapped of like a hair by something that took my squid fillet in a river mouth, damn the one that gets away! Note to self, set the drag dammit! :) Good times!

Keen to go get more !

Pyramid lake!

Do a search for Pyramid Lake & trout. Just North of Reno. Awesome fishing, check it out!

Good luck
doublejj

Used to live in Reno. Took the ex-wife to Pyramid once... she's 'sensitive' to 'stuff'. She 'almost' stepped onto the ground when we parked. Pulled her foot back in and said... "No. Take me home, this place is NOT good."

Creepy vibes, lots of bad stories... lots of lost people in boats.

Be VERY careful on that lake... most people come back ok.
