once she sees the pic it should clear up any confusion. If there not caps?? how would you fill the tube?? when I look close it looks like the top part unscrews that's where we would fill the tube from..

I agree she should know what I'm referring to.. open end?? with mine I have to remove the stopper to load the tube. On the metal top ones I would think that part would be unscrewed then packed then screw that top back on.. Is that how those work?? or do they get loaded from the bottom and then the screen is attached..Either way there still better then a rubber stopper.

ALRIGHT LIGHT THAT BITCH UP WITH AN ALL CAPS EMAIL!! I would sure like to know why there line is "if it doesnt say okief..." Yet none of mine or the pictured ones say okief, they all say micron technologies. My cc statement and emails from them says micron technologies, nothing about okief other than links to the website.

I prefer stainless.

I wouldn't use aluminum, unless it has been anodized.

Copper will work if you keep it clean and shinny. Breathing copper oxide fumes while welding, produces Fume Fever.

Either way she should've known what you meant when you referred to a metal top. No doubt Vertigo. Interesting link, thanks for sharing.
Hammerhead, in the BHO for dummies thread I posted a link to stainless steel tubing. The link I posted is for 1 inch tubing but tons of other diameters are available when you go to the "tubing" category....
About eight bucks for a foot of 1 inch diameter 304 stainless steel tubing. You can customize to any length. As far as fabbing tops or whatnot, that's up to you.
It's kind of crzy to think about what ytou get for 175 bucks with that Okief-a stainless stel tube,a stopper, some screens, and a dinky little tripod you can make yourself. If it was less than a hundred I might pay for the mark up but what they're asking is simply ridiculous as far as I'm concerned.

My tube is 1" from Okief it was 60$. The X-TRACTOR II is 2 1" tubes. They also have 3 1" tubes...

I got her reply...

Those tops pressed into the tube and are non removable. The tube had to be loaded and unloaded from the bottom which was a little difficult. We stopped making making those some time ago, they only come with a rubber stopper now.

She is fucking stupid....

Little difficult to load, NOT AT ALL!!!

Even if it was a little difficult, I would rather have it that way, then a chance for a blowback...

Rubber stopper, what a fucking joke...

I have never had a blowout and I pack it very tight. Having said that I have modified my tube/rubber stopper. I finish drilling the stopper so I now have a 6/32 flat head bolt that holds it all on. Its not possible for a blow out now. I just need to test it to see how much of a restriction the bolt adds when filling the butane. I might have to make the hole in the stopper a bit larger.. Im still waiting for my tane to get here..

No ideas for a stand for glass tube users, but I've seen people wrap a towel around the middle of the tube and duct tape it there so you can grab on to that while extracting, as opposed to having to put something on your hand.-t4k

The upscale scientific grade cat litter bucket and wood clamp method. It can discharge into either a bain marie or a a pie plate in hot water.

Good idea on the spring as make up on partial fills Jump 117!!
