I don't know how, but they did.

This all happened so fast, plus I had to leave my grow for a week or so. I swear, I think they knew I left! I haven't seen a spider mite in many many years. And I've never had a serious problem with them, only friends.

Well they are a problem now. Blew up into a huge problem for a couple plants in the back.

I HATE SPIDERS and this is just the worst. So gross..

Plan of action:
Suffocation via CO2. I'll be bagging up each plant and pumping CO2 into them and let them soak for about 3 hours or so. I'll have my CO2 monitor on the outside of the grow room so I know I'm safe. Ventilation goes to outside btw.

I'm thinking about it.. Just that I'm pretty confident that the CO2 environment will kill them all.. I could be naive about it though.

it doesnt work. get some mighty wash, sns 217 and some spinosad and kill em dead. sns works on the eggs. dries em out

I'm just slowing winning the battle too after 6 months, these London mites take nearly everything you throw at them :(

Good luck

TacomaComa nailed it

mighty wash and sns217 will knock those bitches out

stay vigilant with the applications and you should see relief relatively quick

if youve reached "infestation" level, soak a sponge w/ either MW or SNS and wipe off as many leaves as you can

you can also clip and get rid of as many of the more infested leaves as you feel comfortable with to help the process along

volck oil will kill em, and the eggs too.
its cheap and on a low order of toxicity as things go.

i switched between sns217 and azatrol each application to knock them out

ps.

Co2 doesnt work

Suffocating bugs does work. Never tried SNS because I have never needed to. If for some reason these spider mites can breath CO2, then I'll try the SNS but as far as I know (and have experienced) bugs need oxygen.

How did you do it when you tried CO2? Makes a big difference.

You 'think' it doesn't work. But it does :)
Bugs need good air to live just like us.

read up on the subject again my friend. you will find that the co2 levels required to eradicate your mite infestation are extremely high. waste of co2 and your time.

Ive done it before and I've read up on it.

I'm not pumping CO2 into a room or my cab but into a bag basically the size of the plant reducing my application volume greatly.

I can make it a pure CO2 environment if I want to easily. I'm just filling up a small garbage bag with CO2. Never had to make it pure CO2 though. a Quick flush, pump, then soak, works perfectly.

Ouch. Ive had an infestation pop out of nowhere at my previous grow I had with a partner. Just when it seemed everything was rolling smoothly, bam. Came back from a short trip out of town, partner calls and says I gotta come check stuff out, looks like a deficiency of some kind. I walk in and..... WEBS. Encasing my ladies. Apparently my partners eyesight is failing him. I used a cheap "knock down" spray I'd heard of from here on IC called Natural Guard or something like that. $20 per concentrated quart. I would recommend it if you've got a heavy infestation or a lot of plants so you dont spend an arm and a leg just getting below infestation stage. Use the NG to knock down for a couple consecutive sprays, then get SNS to attack the eggs and follow up sprays. Although, looks like you're well into flower, Ive never had an infestation breakout midflower.... knock on wood.... either way good luck to you man. Would be interesting if your co2 method works. But idk how well this would work for eggs, may work to eradicate the infestation, and then follow up a product.

i keep one of those long legged small bodied spiders in the corner of my room, the deal is, he eats all of the other insects and leaves the weed alone ,and i don't kill him .worked well for the last year.also if gassing the mites with the co2 does not work, and you chose to not use all of the sound advice given above as a last resort you could try hitting them with the co2 bottle !

I just hope I have enough room to get a full swing in :)

I tried co2 not really practical on large scale unless your room is sealed and results were still questionable, I pumped it in small bags also . And someone else did a thread sho0wing how long term high level co2 damages leaves . I used azamax and Dr doom Knock down & fogger in veg and now mite free . Check Puddin tane thread on inert gas .

I don't have to have a sealed room if pumping into bags. And I know it works. It may be hard to do right but I know it's worked for me in the past.

Didn't mean to start a whole thing over it lol. Just wanted to rant and share my current experience with spider mites cause we all hate them.
Like I said, I'll definitely try the SNS if this doesn't work, but it has before so I'm feeling confident.
But thank you for all the help/looking out everyone :thank you: :smokeit:

Azamax/Azatrol for our vegging plants. You want a root drench or straight into the res.

Flowering? Bleah! Helium works and is inert... won't burn the sh*t outta your plants if they get too much exposure. Getting more expensive with the shortages though...

Stay Safe! :blowbubbles:

I chopped the plants down about four weeks after I posted this and there weren't any sign of spider mites up to that point.

As I predicted (based off previous experience and experience of others including professionals) the spiders don't like breathing in CO2 and it probably killed them all.

I bagged up each plant and flushed the air out with CO2 then inflated the bag again with CO2. Each plant was like that for about 2 hours. This was done with the LIGHTS OFF.

The next day I sprayed with water to wash away the spiders and wiped the webbing off the leaves/cut the webbed buds off. Only the tops of the top nug was effected, didn't lose too much.
