I know many that have had success with them. The main Doctor there Dr.Gootch rarely signs over 10 grams. They are based on Vancouver Island and do skype appointments. Peace GS

Im kinda curious if you have to wait many weeks for an appointment with these guys like you do with a specialist . i didnt see any applications on there web page or any real info on how long these things . I have all my paper work in order and the payment is no problem so what is the steps of the process

You call them and speak with the lady. She asks you to send in your letter of diagnosis etc. When it has been reviewed and confirmed they book you an appointment. I have heard skype is quicker than a walk in. Peace GS

I don't want to go into my personal details but I did not care for this company.

Dr.Gootch was quite nice, we did a Skype video consultation and it all went well and he signed my papers for 3 gr a day. I do have several health issues, 3 problems with my spine(moderate to severe) and several lung disorders, leaves me with chronic disabilities.

It was the company I had a problem with and told them I had no use for them.

About a 1 1/2 years later after several talks with my family doc, he decided to sign my papers. I was much happier having my family doc sign my papers and I asked him for less than 3gr a day as this was too much, he signed for 2 gr a day.

Myself and a few friends have gotten licenses through this company, works fine! They suck at answering emails, I recommend calling.

Yeah I personally hate talking on the phone, but unless you want to be waiting 3 weeks for them to ask to submit your medical documents I definitely recommend calling.

You are all crazy using a company to get access. Why are you paying some one for an access program that is free. Don't give a cent to these people who are ripping of the sick and dying. Shame on you for supporting them.

If you really have a medical need then you can find a doctor without much of an issue. If you don't have a problem then yes you will have a difficult time finding one. Which means you shouldn't be looking for one. Step aside and leave the program alone for people that need it. The reason why Health Canada wants to take away growers licenses is to stop all the fakers, fraugs and organized crime.

These companies are taking advantage of a system that is not working and people that need it. If you need a doctor and you really have a problem pm me and I can send you a list of doctors that will treat you for free as long as you need it

"If you really have a medical need then you can find a doctor without much of an issue"

If this were true, the judge in the Mernaugh case would not have blamed the doctors for ruining the program by refusing to sign. I have explained this many times, but will do this again for you.

In B.C. doctors can opt in or not opt in to the healthcare system. Ones that opt in are run by the government that pays them. These are like doctors in the other provinces that are pressured not to sign. Doctors that opt out are payed by the patient and are not pressured by the system, making them more likely to sign. If you are suggesting that these doctors that opt out should be working for free, then why not the ones that opt in too? They are being payed for your visit. should they not be doing their jobs? Please explain further. You have me curious. Peace GS

I agree 100%, unfortunately the harsh reality is that unless you're in a very specific position, even if you have a legitimate medical condition with years of documentation, it's pretty hard to get a typical doctor to sign.

Health Canada's own numbers state a minimum of 500,000 Canadians use cannabis medicinally.

Your statement is insulting to a very large group of people who have been denied access to a HC authorization.

Category B2 is any ailment that you use cannabis to treat. If you have a diagnosis for any ailment or condition from a Medical Doctor you have the right to choose your medication, and how much you use.

It varies from doctor to doctor on what they will sign a cat B2 for, skype or otherwise. They are the gatekeepers to the program, but technically we ourselves are the keymasters to access medical cannabis.

It is much more difficult to get a doctor to sign than you might think MissKittyKat.
I quite honestly don't know how you can make the 'promises' which you are making saying that if someone really needs their license, just PM you and you'll send them a list... I really hope you're not talking about this list:

http://johnturmel.com/doctors.htm

That's an old one and actually still has Kammerman's name on it!! LOL,,,,very old.....

I've had 7 knee operations where now I've got both knees replaced. Got PTSD from combat, can't sleep right, Hep C....few other things....Believe me when I tell you I tried and tried and then finally after almost having to use non-verbal articulation, my doctor signed for me..

I'm sure you'll find a similar story with a great many people and they will tell you the same thing...there are just not enough doctors willing to sign and then if they are, since HC does not cover their costs for filling the forms, most, if not all, of them charge you extra.

It is the 'How much extra?'......which is always the issue and some doctors border on extortion but that's a topic for another thread.

Just my 2 bits and experience in all this....thank you for reading

I think it costs about 400 bucks from mmas. They have different packages depending on the level of involvement you want them to have. Peace GS

I have enough to deal with doctors telling me you will "feel better soon " if i only do this and that.
The doctors are not refusing to sign my papers but pushing somthing else on me before signing . This has been going on for some time now pain managment programs and more pain killers then detox then more pain killers then another program ,I just keep getting promised the meds that work for me but only after "one" more treatment .
I don't like having to go through the whole talk with the doctors over and over then being told i'm bascialy "wrong ". It works for me so how can i be wrong .
I'm really tried of all the running around which cost me alot more out of my pocket then $300-$600 a year and a hell of a lot more out of my medicare and issurance plan . Im blessed to have a service available to me to access the medications i need to have a better day .

Shame on Me for supporting a clinic . Shame on you MissKittyKat for comming at the sick people like myself.
