hi tom how are u bud.ive been reading ur posts and growing ur deep chunk and haze for years now thanks for offering these fine genetics.the reason im sending this message is because i need help understanding organics better and home brewed teas and how to use hortinet.ive only grown indoors but next year im taking the plunge into outdoors and im going to try my hardest to achieve 10pounders..lol im not sure i can do it but i will try i just need u to send me in the right direction.also i know u use smartpots but i wanted to put directly in the ground.how big should my holes be?and is it possible to use the soil from my land and add everything else u recommend in outdoors thread or should i just buy the bags of black and gold?please help me prepare and point me to any good books that will truthfully help me.after seeing u and others do so great in the outdoors im convinced thats where im going.thanks in advance...

Ladies of the Canyon

Ladies of the Canyon

Tom,

Maybe you're not as young as I thought.....Joni Mitchell does still rule.

Her song about the Sinse girls:

"Ladies Of The Canyon"

Trinna wears her wampum beads
She fills her drawing book with lines
Sewing lace on widows weeds
And filagree on leaf and vine
Vine and leave are filagree
And her coats a second hand one
Trimmed in antique luxury
She is a lady of the canyon

Annie sits you down to eat
She always makes you welcome in
Cats and babies round her feet
And all are fat and none are thin
None are thin and all are fat
She may bake some brownies today
Saying, you are welcome back
She is another canyon lady

Estrella circus girl
Comes wrapped in songs and gypsy shawls
Songs like tiny hammers hurled
At bevelled mirrors in empty halls
Empty halls and bevelled mirrors
Sailing seas and climbing banyans
Come out for a visit here
To be a lady of the canyon

Trinna takes her pains and her threads
And she weaves a pattern all her own
Annie bakes her cakes and her breads
And she gathers flowers for her home
For her home she gathers flowers
And Estrella, dear companion
Colors up the sunshine hours
Pouring music down the canyon
Coloring the sunshine hours
They are the ladies of the canyon

haha WOW man...that blue dream is like 3-4x the size of mine...and mine still hit 3.2 lbs out of a 200..

cant wait to run some more dreams next year....i put mine out june 16th and they were only 2 feet tall and still hit 3lbs...cant wait to see what happens when i put some 4-5 footers with proper topping and better soil...

I used to not be a huge BD fan, but the past couple years has taught me to change that stance out of sheer respect. I must respect a plant like BD, she deserves it.

any mold issues?

Almost zero. Harvested all the BD monsters right before and during the first rain, which turned out to be a very mild rain storm anyways. I think it was the 16th or 17th. They took longer to finish than the BD's in pots due to the shit loads of soil in the 10 x 10 squares they were planted in. The root bound BD's in 200 gal pots finished and were harvested 5 or 6 days earlier.

I would say less than 1% mold, just a fraction. I kept a few plants separate to see yield. One confirmed 10 + so far. The one in the pic is def over 10 and potentially up to 12. We shall see.

If it weren't for this website and thread and Humboldt Local, I would never have been able to do such badass shit like this. Never would have dreamed this a reality. When I have enough free time to sit still for over 30 seconds I gain perspective and feel blessed. Just though I would share that.

I love cannabis! A lot..

Peace

re,

re,

Sinaloa,

How do you trim your herb?

hi FatherEarth:biggrin:

is on hand throughout the process, with a knife cut the speck
Speck first bask in black oilcloth,
and then we give a squeeze to leaf fall

Im getting a bit of mold in my greenhouse....shit sux...not a ton but Ive found at least a couple tops in each plant that have either white mold (super aggressive) or brown mold, which is not nearly as aggressive and tends to stay isolated to one bud and affect surrounding areas. Ive got good ventilation, sprayed actinovate up until mid sep for a preventative, and spot treated moldy spots I found in oct with actinovate at double strength. The spot treatment works well...if you can find every spot, and that aint happenin on plants these size...so may I ask some of you vets....how do you prevent mold....is it in the calcium cation ratio of the soil used like Ive heard ppl say? If so how do you achieve said ratio....trying to improve my game everyday and make everyday better than the last....hope everybody is swimming in flame like I am..cheers all

ZDub,
have you been using any potassium silicate? Feed every water and foliar, although Im not sure Id spray it on your finishing buds, I cant bring myself to spray anything on buds... What kind of mold are you seeing? Whats the rain/ Night temps like up there right now? I would however use some diluted H2o2 in problem areas though. Stay diligent and you should be fine. How much longer you got to go?

they are all down now...took the last chemdawg yesterday...the bottoms of the plants that are sill standing and maturing dont have any issues with the mold...it just the nice big tops...not always in dense areas tho...both white and brown mold. The garden is in a greenhouse so they dont get rained on but its not humidity controlled...I have roll-up side and heat vents in the roof that provide plenty of natural ventilation. but the humidity isnt under my control....
