My nute bottles are getting low! Suggestions?

Well, the big containers of Fox Farms Grow Big and Tiger Bloom that i have are about empty. I've been using these base nutes for quite a while now just because I don't have experience with anything else. So I want to hear your recommendations for a simple veg & bloom base nutrient system, since I'm sure that there's better stuff available out there than the Fox Farms liquid fertilizers.

I grow in soil, 1 to 3 gallon buckets under a 400w HPS. With my next run, i want to use a little kelp extract, silica, and a Ca/Mg product along with the veg/bloom stuff. Never used a Ca/Mg product before, so any advice with those is also welcomed.

Thanks for reading! :bandit:

Veg+Bloom for me, not looking back.

Spray DynaGro ProTekt but amend soil with something like Napa 8822 and washed sand for Si.

Earth Juice Amazon Bloom is some of the best bagged soil ive seen.

The grow n additive is 8 percent ca so ur good there..but seriously i couldnt be happier with the results iv gottn.. I do a perp and its lasted about 2 months total of 6 plants for the box and its only 40 bucks or so... And i take that back i didnt even have to buy themm my hydro store hooked me up with all the sample bottle sizes of the kit.. only had to buy the liter of bloom for 15 bucks and the infinity i think was 15 too but all my samples are full except the big swell that one goes quick but over all i way impressed...

I recently switched from Fox Farms to Dyna Gro. The DG seems to be working just fine, maybe better than the FF.

I used GH 3 part with success, but it seemed like work so I switched to PBP. I like it but it's kinda expensive. Thinking of trying Maxibloom when the PBP is gone

So you basically just feed with your N-P-K macronutrient ferts all the way through with nothing else added? Every time i've done that, it always seemed like the plants showed signs of being hungry for a little something extra.

no issues here so far and im in week 4ish. i feed 1.8ec for flowering and slightly less for my veg and moms but not by much. this is my first run with it but if it keeps going the way its going i wont ever look back! i just ordered 2 more lbs to keep me going for a couple more runs. i was getting defs in coco with coco specific nutes and a bunch of additives and i got fed up with it. no offense to h and g. i love their nutes but i need to add cal mag and their additives are expensive. veg + bloom has simplified everything. i will put up some finished pics in the near future

My friend is a full-blown idiot. Old friend but he couldn't figure out how to pour beer out of a boot.

You know the drill - it's the strain! No, it's the soil! No, it's the bulb! No, it's the reflector! No, it's the ballast!

"I know - I'll switch to a new 'nute program' and see how that turd flies"

He's pretty pissed at me because I refuse to provide any more cuts - besides he is convinced that my inferior plants are at the root of his problems (no pun intended) - besides you don't a 2nd bite of the apple from me.

I owe no one a single thing and I like to keep things that way. I refuse 'gifts' from anyone associated with the dismal MMJ scene in Oregon - no hooks. Favors always equate to 'You owe me because'

What is this "pH meter" you speak of? What is it used for?

J

Ph meter....

Often a battery operated device for measuring ph (acidity or alkalinity)introduced to the indoor cannabis gardener by people that really thought everyone should grow cannabis with these new fangled hydro methods in a fantastic new decade known as the '80's'.....and that myth was propagated by the stoner mag culture of High Times advertising these gimmicks from hydro companies in the back pages.....you just simply couldn't grow without one back then according to the big named cannabis guru's and pot celeb's at the time......which still do that silly shit.

Don't forget to flush!!!!......and check that run off too~

They've never done me wrong and are easy to use. If you use a high quality potting soil or organic mix the less of them you'll need. Also, I have yet to run into burning or pH issues with them.

Oh shit dont think i mentioned protekt entire veg time from clone to week 5 of a 8 to 9 week strain.
Spray only in veg unless they look a lil weak but in the nutes in flower only... And add it first then ur base ect... Or the protekt with fuck ur mix all to shit ull get twisty crunchy leafs whole nine yards.. If u want ill post few pix of what happens if do what was said above...but ur gona need the 7.8 percent silicon to hold those lunkers up with.. Those were cherry pie from DHN..

Veg+Bloom for me, not looking back.

You guys are referring to the 1 part Veg+bloom by Hydroponics Research, right? I might have to see if my local hydro shop carries it, I'm after simplicity and it doesn't get much simpler than that.

Thanks for the replies everybody!! :tiphat:

i used FF, and php and flornova, they're all good,
but since july i've been the the 69 rezapie.
cheap and works just as good imo, I still like FF grow big for veg, seems to have an edge over the other.

the 69 rezapie uses gen hydro micro and bloom.
its perfect in bloom because the N is in the micro and you can pull it back when you want and still get your P+K
and its **a lot easier** on the pocket book cheaper, works as good.... whats not to like :smoke:

V+B gets my vote, too. I'm just finishing up my second run with it, and like DH, my only additive is Drip Clean for the Blumats. I'm not sure if it is needed or not, I've just been using it a long time, have plenty, and have never had any issues either with the Blumats or in the media. Since I've swapped over, I've had no deficiencies all the way through for the first time.

I don't know about finding it at your local store, but if you check their website you can order direct and they ship very quickly. Seem like good people, and a damn good product. They have both a standard formula and a RO formula, so it would be good to have some idea about your water's makeup.

nute bottles getting low is a great reason to stop buying bottled nutes in my experience. Got some super soil cooking and haven't looked back since

As long as all the base nutes and micro nutes are present in the proper amounts I myself have seen very little difference to be honest over a 25 yr period . I noticed the biggest difference when I started using a bloom booster 4th week of bloom on like Koolbloom for instance . For the past couple years I've used Maxi grow and Maxi bloom because it's a 1 part nute , lasts forever almost , and I can buy it in upto a 50 lb bucket and get it crazy cheap . Don't sweat the lil bit of powder thats left behind as it's a binding agent and not actual nutes , ppl. seem to freak out when they see it settle back to the bottom after mixing it up .
