looking at picking up a few of these.
i like the the 15sec variable start feature that will stagger the 6 I'll be running.
looks like they ony run on 120v only, not 240v which I prefer

hoping other IC'rs have exp with it

Have you seen the new Solis Tek Matrix? Built in timer, remote control dimming.

I can't wait until I need to buy a new ballast.

About the Nano, Hammerhead just got one and I know he said he likes it.

now thats niiice!!
the ignition system plus internal timer looks like it will top any other brand currently out there
Ignition Control™:
Sequential lamp ignition technology that will ignite your lamps one at a time based on load stability.
This revolutionary technology (not a randomized startup) will actually detect the voltage and amperage
frequencies of the electrical circuit and fire lamps when the load is most stable. SolisTek digital ballasts
are the only ballast capable of this technology.

Not to mention you could dim all 6 of your ballasts with 1 remote.

Just bought a new galaxy the other week too! Wish I could replace all my ballasts with these.

i have no exp with these but i do with cap... they are ok at best... not saying this wont be good but who in the fuck builds a ballast these days without it being able to run 240...? That alone should tell you that its not worth it..

too cheap to put a 240 plugin socket?? what else were they too cheap on?

yeah poops, that's leaving a bad taste in me mouth not being able to run 240??
I think thats the only one ive seen like that.

the solis tek matrix looks pretty damn good and I can get em @$249
love the remote and the functions available.
most places are asking $300+ for em.
$249 definitely makes it doable for me, and maybe they'll wheel and deal on on the price for a 6pack :smoke:

shoot yeah TC, the galaxy 1kw is what?? $200 plus and this can be had for pennies more basically

the only thing I'm a bit wary of is its new with lots of things on it
and I like to see it run a while and see how it performs with others before getting 6 of them.

Sooo....
how is solis tek's track record with their equipment... :shucks:
anyone?

I hear ya on the newness of these, I'd be a little bit worried but damn, if they do all they say without fail, no need for lighting controllers:jump:.

Solis-Tek isn't that new anymore. I don't recall seeing anyone complaining of any problems with them yet.

The one with the remote & LCD I've never seen below $270 (with shipping). The 1kw without the remote (all the same features internally) can go for about $230.

EXACTLY TC!!
when i say its new QP i mean that model with the features,
not solis tek. I found on place that has em for $249, nice price for what it is and compared to other 1000w'ers

i need 6 ballast for the room but have a few already, may just buy 3-4 and see how it goes but they look damn good on paper tho
I mean as TC said about not needing the lite controller or slews of timers etc etc.
there's $200--$300 saved right there I can put towards the ballasts.
I wonder if they keep memory if we have a power loss for a few minutes?

Good question, so I looked.
Will keep setting for up to 6 hours with a built in backup battery.

Also of note, remote control is required to use internal timer function.

thanks, i couldn't find it ,
one nice feature is it has a timer that keeps track of its *on time*
handy to keep track of bulb use...
yeah the remote runs pretty much everything on it,
they run about $20 and one will operate one ballast or
as many ballasts as needed
this thing is looking better-n-better

The Solis Teks are made in Japan as well.

I would definitely skip on this new CAP ballast.

yeah I'm not even considering the cap anymore, just the fact it won't run 240v is enough reason to ditch it.
the solis ballast is only $60ish buck more too....
there's not much else to consider there except were also looking at *quality* japanese electronics
:smoke:

Sorry for the thread hijack...Just excited for this ballast.

aw man noway third coast, your not hijacking this thread.
I actually owe you a big mucho gracias for turning me on to the solis matrix.
Ive already decided I'm getting them for my new 6000w boom room.
they stack against other ballasts Ive been looking at and beat em

The Extreme Nano runs on both 120 and 220. I have one running on 220v. There warranty is for 3 years. I have been running this Nano now for about 4 weeks. The temp on the Nano is much cooler then the 600 Lumatek. I love my Lumateks but this new Nano is very nice. Im pleasantly surprised with its performance so far..

Im not a CAP fan myself but after reading about this one. I liked what I read..I cant give a bad report for an item if I have never used it. If your interested in something you should find the info before posting... I have never used any of CAP equipment I can only report on what I have used.. This Nano Extreme so far is worth every penny I spent on it. If it was a piece of CRAP I would be the first to say so..

Yeah, I meant in contrast to CAP's low quality, Chinese designed and manufactured product.

I'll be in the market for some new ballasts at some point soon. Thanks for the info. I would probably just have picked up some Quantum ballasts which we get a cheap price on. I've never had any issues with mine, but these seem really nice.
