Blockhead F2s and Hawaiian Snow Diesel

Ha, ha, ha.............. :)

Hi Silver, ya, the room reeks and Primobud confirmed my biggest suspicion, that the soft oniony smell from the Hawaiian Snow has 3 been replaced by an "industrial smell". So it looks like all of my HSDs will be dieselish. I expected this when I did the cross, but it looks like the HS beefed up the diesel buds nicely. It's nice to know that it's not [budlite. :woohoo:

I was hoping the smell was coming from the Blockheads but I couldn't tell. That should have been the first clue. You should have smealt my house when I had the 2 4 ft males in mrs smilley's geranium room. I tried to blame that on the Blockhead too, but I gotta face facts. I've always loved the diesels and any crosses I've tried. As long as ya got adequate odor control.:rtfo::trampoline:

I looked over the room to see if I could fit 8 of the 5 gal pails and it looks like lots of room.......

Lookin' nice - the blockhead seems nice'n girthy/chunky, and not lengthy/skinny.. :good:

How long do you expect to take those HSDs?

Well, primobud took his first HSD at 75 days and the other one will be done a week later. So 70 - 80 days.

The Blockhead is gonna be some dense stuff. Maybe that's what gives it the mold issues mentioned by gingerale. I'm committed to 4 of each in 5 gal pails for the next crop so I hope mold doesn't become an issue.

So I potted 8 1 gal pots with 4 BHs and 4 HSDs for the next crop. I'll keep the extra clones around for a few more days in case of a repotting failure but things look good. All the clones had nice white roots . The 2 pots on the right are from the gel cups. 1 BH (the missing pheno) and a HSD pheno that didn't make the cut for next crop. If they root, I'll keep both for future consideration (final crop).

These 1 gal pots will make nice plugs for repotting to the 5ers....

I think I have solved the mold issues in my grow, and it was due to using slightly contaminated water when spraying the plants. BH is definitely susceptible and isn't for noobs, but looks like it's gonna be fine if you are careful and don't do what I did.

Thanks for lookin in gingerale, and thanks for the input. I'm not planning on spraying them with anything, but if I do I'll use RO water. I've never had mold except on some clones a few years ago but there's always a first time so I.m being careful. The Blockheads are sure an interesting strain and I'm happy so far with what I'm seeing. Do you generally foliar feed?

Hello Catfish Billy. Hey your name reminds me of a joke...... "Arrghrrr, Ya ever been to sea, Billy? answer "No captain, but I've been blown ashore." ok, ok, I know, kinda sappy.

The HSDs have an overpowering diesel smell, bordering on cat piss. Nothing like the soft, subtle oniony smell of the Hawaiian Snow mother. I haven't been able to pin down the Blockhead smell yet, but I'm sure by harvest I'll have a description.s

Howdy dude!
just read the thread and its coming along mighty fine! Primos weed looks nice for sure lookin forward to a taster one of these days!I assume LK is liquid karma? If so I would recommend using some for sure , its is probably my all time favorite supplement you can either use it with a regular feeding or i will sometimes skip the nuts and just run ph water and a dose of the karma, especially with some of these sativas i find that often less is more with the nutrients ,they also tend to show signs like the claw(leaves curl in on them selves and the tips bend over as well) I love the look of the sativas in your little piece of pot paradise! Looking forward to seeing those bitches fatten up and get trichomes on the trichomes lol! Anyways i babbling but try the karma my friend!

Peace

Hey Bubs, nice to have you come by the smilley compound. Thanks for not sayin my clones looked like shit, even though they did. They've turned the corner now and are well on their way to marijuana glory. :)

And I thought the LK was just a shelf filler in my cupboard. Actually, I'd forgotten all about it until mitsu brought it up. I've started the clones on a new regime of 10ml Grow and 10ml LK per gal and I'll see how they like it. Interesting you mention the "claw". I've got a bit of that going on on some of the HSDs. Do you think I should skip a watering and only use the LK or suppliment the regular feeding with the LK? Hey, what causes the "claw"? I've seen it on various crops over the years and never was able to rectify it. It's certainly not a crop stopper but must cut into yield a bit.

Thanks for dropping by and pop back anytime.... :thank you:
You can see a bit of the "claw going on on the 2 HSDs at the top back left

Gingerale: I don't use neem oil. I use safer soap in veg and if I get any inkling of the Borg, I break out a Vapona NoPest strip and gently blow it through the garden during dark cycle for a week or two. Anyone using this product should avoid breathing the vapors. I just seal it up in a plastic bag during light cycle. I tend to only run into mites in the Spring and I'm pretty sure the source is mrs smilley's geranium room. Thanks for clearing up the mold issue, I was getting concerned..............

Interesting - I thought that geraniums were used as a companion plant to repel mites..?

This geranium room, I sure do like the sounds of it. Will we ever get a look-see? :) :dance013:

If you look closely at the front right you'll see a couple of spindly Sour LSD males that fathered the HSD cross.
