hey i just went and recreated some pictures from last month, so i can kinda get a better idea of the differences in growth...i didn't get it quite right but im gonna try to post them as full size images anyways...i'm kinda winging it, never done it before...i'll try to get pics tomorrow that recreate the angle a little better, so it's easier to be subjective...
{EDIT} i went back and found i had the wrong pics, THIS is the almost ripe batch around day 24
and here is a picture that i just took a few minutes ago..about day 25
{EDIT}as you can see by getting the right before picture the change isn't nearly as dramatic...and i think the pics i had up there yesterday were just taken at the right angle to hide a lot of budsites behind leaves...nevertheless the difference is still quite visible...i guess at this point i have no idea whats causing the change...6" closer to the light, no defoliation, 3 times stronger nutes...or most likely some combination of the 3 is causing my success...{EDIT}
unfortunately it was fun to learn about galleries and posting full sized pics, but during the process i realized that at week 4 of last round i had barely started to defoliate, if at all...so the incredible size increase can't be from lack of defoliation...that makes the most likely cause the fact that last round i was using 1/3 strength, year old crappy maxibloom that dissolved even less than when i first bought it if you can believe that...this round I'm using flora nova and flora micro, and for the week before that i had figured out i was accidentally only giving them 1/3 strength nutes and was using a scale to make sure the dosage was correct... so ya if thats the case it really goes to show ya that less isn't always more with these girls...higher ec's cause faster growth, shorter nodes, and as a result bigger denser buds...i can't wait to start adding koolbloom to these girls!
the other thing im thinking contributed a little was me raising the plants even closer to the light, i changed my optimum budding zone up higher because cold temps outside are keeping my temps in the cab low and fixing the bottom base increased my ventilation a ton, so i can keep them closer to the bulb by about 4-6 inches...that likely helped a bunch too...unfortunately it just makes it harder to teasle out which influenced the growth by how much...
this means my defoliation test is still on, maybe...lol again i can't really compare it to this harvest because of the nutrient and temperature variables, but next harvest i could compare to one after that, and mayyyybe get some answers...but as for now i think this comparison set doesn't show much except that this next round will be a very good yielding round...

i'm trying a new way of uploading pics so bear with me if it doesn't work right away...
anyways i spent about 12 hours last night completely fixing up the veg portion of my cab...i laid plywood down on the floor so that the vent grate would be flush...i was having issues because if i put a pot down half on the grate half off it would be all crooked...after i got that done i sealed it all off with caulking...probably not well enough but it should at least stave off long term water damage for at least 6 months...by then i intend to sell this heavy ass thing and make a whole new one with better materials...namely plywood instead of mdf...
anyways while i let the caulking dry, i build a grate over my grate...basically the same way i used to do with cabinet doors...i gotta tell ya, custom cutting those and the floor panels was not easy! all i had to work with was a very small hand saw, i could have borrowed a power saw but i decided against it...i was in a major zone and didn't want to leave the cab
anyways after the glue dried i wrapped it in aluminum tape to reinforce it and make it reflective....then i added even more reinforcement brackets to the bottom plate and re-taped the panda cloth on my walls...i screwed all the chords to the ceiling again(they've been hanging in the way for like 6 months now lol), and i switched out my super noisy old fan on my ballast for a computer type fan, i have it vastly underpowered with a cell phone transformer...it's running at like 1/3rd power right now, so just enough to keep the ballast cool but completely silent, the old one was waking me up at night it would get so loud every now and then.
anyways i put new panda on the floor and put my plants back in around midnight, after starting around noon, and not stopping to smoke or eat once...

anyways this thing is only letting me add 5 pics to each post now...i don't get why because before it would let me put 10 on one post...well i have a bunch of bud shots so i'm gonna put them here... the left side is being harvested tomorrow morning... what i'm gonna do is pull the bed out of my cab and stick it next to the front, covered in a bed sheet, in a way that allows the cab to intake it's air in from under the bed sheet, basically sucking up all the smell of the bed into the cab and filtering it before it spits it out again...if i try to move my grow bed of ladies even a few feet away from my cab it can't catch the smells and my whole place ends up reaking when i wake up...i have since learned to make a small tent with a bed sheet to help funnel the intake so that it sucks ALL the smell from the ladies...
so does anybody know how to do this picture loading thing? i wanted them to look just like they did on the first 4 pages but i wanted to load them to my gallery and attach, not just upload to each post like i was doing...these don't seem the same though, they don't let me attach more than five and the screen doesn't darken and pop them up automatically after moving curser over them...the others say "attached thumbnails"...it seems these ones you have to click individually and load a separate window for each...what a total pain in the ass this is...i wasted my first half of the day fixing my internet so i could load this stuff and now i have even more frustrating computer issues...not a good week to cut back on the herb lol
Ok guys, you are sucky helpers...lol nobody knows how to load pics from the galery as attached thumbnails? the kind that make the screen go dark>?like my first 3 pages...and i have to go to my gallery pics individually to get the stupid code to post fullsize images, and then if i want to copy paste to more than one thread im screwed cause those fullsize image codes disappear when you post and then it's impossible to copy paste pics, i have to start all over...ug this is more trouble than it's worth...i remember this being easier in the past...i used to load tons of crap on overgrow and i never had any issues...
well anyways i finished my harvest...i'm being lazy so i'm gonna just copy and paste what i put in the pictures forum to here, i'll edit the text later, but i have a lotta crap to get done...so i wont do it now..just bear with me if some of the information is repetitive...to be honest i would be pretty surprised if i found out somebody was actually reading all the stuff i write...i do it more for my own self than you guys...my memory sucks and just typing it on here or writing it out in my paper journals helps me remember it...and gives me a better idea of the past so that i can improve in the future...the more i write the more chances that i'll record something innocuous without realizing it that will help me in the future when i go back over my work...the same theory goes to taking lots more pics than i probably need...since, after all, my plants are basically all identical...my thread is a coffee book of twins...
well i am finally done trimming, it was about 5-6 hours of total work...it yielded a very pleasant surprise...i thought i had only planted 35 clones in this bed but i actually had 39, so all last month i had nearly 80 plants under 400w hps via hortilux eye...next week im switching to metal halide i think...just to see if the hoopla is true...
anyways here they are...plants averaged around 5 grams, i know this by using a formula i created for these girls, basically i recorded the wet weights, dry weights, stem weights and leaves of individual girls so that i know with my plants...a 22 gram plant(trimmed of leaves)is usually 2 grams stem and 20 grams bud, which dries to 5 grams...these girls were drier than when i came up with the formula's so i'll likely yield about 5-6 grams on half of them 4-5 on a quarter, and 2-4 on the final quarter... either way it will dry to about 3/4 a gram per watt...next round i don't have any runts, while this round i have several, so i am really hoping to crack the gram per watt next time...

Here is one of my skunk specials...i can't stand these things...nasty skunks...meh i couldn't get enough clones from my c99 mom so i had to substitute these jokers...low yielding, that fruity skunk taste i can't stand, and a sleepy boring high...i can't get this junk out of my place soon enough...i don't believe in hate but i HATE this plant!
and here's a few more of my c99's, and them all trimmed in my drying box, which attaches to the front of my grow cab, so that the cab sucks all it's air in from my drying box first, so the ladies are always under a suction that keeps the smell from leaving my bedroom and spreading all over for my neighbors to smell...Also some fiscar hash, it's probably half charas half red hairs...but it tastes so good...all my other hash methods get rid of the terps, but this stuff tastes so delicious...not as potent but man i wish i could make regular hash taste this good...i wish i could get more than a gram at the most per month...it's probably the rusty razorblade that gives it the flavor...incidentally i use the exact same rusty razors to scrape hash from fiscars and pirex as i do to cut clones...i get 100% success rate...sterilizing razors is for pussies...lol

lol i don't know why but my screen names always make people think im mexican...lol my old overgrow name was Beaner...that was slang for seeds back then, i didn't even know it was slang for Mexican lol not that i have anything against Mexicans...but i believe i'm of Irish and German decent...more of a hybrid than a landrace i guess...
for a small update...
one thing i learned this last harvest was the most important deciding factor for whether a plant was an average 15 inch, 5 gram plant or an 8 inch tall, 2 gram plant...once i had trimmed all the plants i started to pull at the stems still sticking out of the bed. i don't remove them till next month when i am ready to reuse the bed, in that time the roots decay and the old rapid rooters just pop right out...anyways when i was tugging on a few i realized the tiny 2 gram plants had a root system that would have been comfortable in a shot glass, where as most of the plants would prefer a solo cup size if i weren't using beds...with beds they all get as much room as they want, and still never come close to root binding, because they stop rooting after week 2 of budding i would guess, right as stretch ends...
what does this mean to me? well i guess it means now that i know the main factor i can exploit it to never get another runt and get the biggest most vigorous growth per clone, i should leave them in the cloning dome for a few more days, so they get lots of roots before being thrown into flower...instead of my usual 9 i'll give them 11 or 12 days to root...ive found that they don't grow much under the dome cause they aren't really under any lights, they stay in the dark corner of my veg chamber...they just make roots, so by giving them a couple more days to root i can hope for more developed roots without any bigger clones, i keep my clones small so that they don't outgrow my lights ability to penetrate the canopy...any taller than 15 inches is just waste with my setup. i have tried vegging for a day or two under the hps but then they end up literally a foot taller in the end, but with barely an extra gram cause i have to strip the bottoms clean to avoid fluff buds...if i were using a bigger lamp i would get deeper penetration and could shoot for slightly less clones per bed and taller plants, while still sticking to the single branch sog paradigm...
so lets see, this weekend i must buy a metal halide bulb, tropf blumats, square pots for new bonsai moms, fancy ec meter, and a pack of seeds...hopefully sour bubble but if they aren't up on gypsys site by the weekend i'll probably just order from attitude, so i can at least use a credit card like a frickin' grownup...the only reason id be willing to put up with gypsies gypping us with the dumb money order thing is if he is the only dude i can possibly use to get the seeds i want, which, he is as far as bogs gear is concerned unfortunately...ordering seeds and awaiting their arrival is a nerve racking process as it is, without doubling the stress by forcing us to nervously wait out the trip our hard earned money must take in a process that could easily end in our money being lost or stolen for good...I'm sure it saves them money but frankly they are in Amsterdam and i am not very sympathetic when they increase our risk and inconvenience to save them a little money...

well quick update...pots drying...im exhausted...meh i helped a buddy of mine harvest his outdoor...i gave him 6 clones and he ended up with between 2-3 lbs...only problem is his kid is in the hospital over an hour away so he can't get to his place till 9pm...i committed myself to helping him back when i assumed it would be 6 of us cheefing in a garage all weekend...now it's just me and him because i'm the only one willing to trim for free from 9pm till 3-4 in the frickin' morning...to be honest i'm not really willing to do it either but the guys kid is in the hospital, im pretty sure she has been terminal since she was born and the dude is going through a hard time. everybody abandoned him once he told them he wouldn't be able to do it during the weekend during daytime, and if i did the same his whole crop would probably go to waste, since im the one who taught him how to grow, and this being his first harvest, i'm the one teaching him how to process it all too, which is a lot of work when dealing with 3 pounds of outdoor...anyways i'm not that big a dick so i am stuck trimming every night this week, getting to bed at 4, and waking up at noon...im a morning person so...meh im tired
anyways, exhausted as i am i checked on my clones, i took two yellow leaves off a few days ago, since then not a single one has yellowed...i am the clone master! almost 50 clones, every single one is rooted in 9 days, and they look identical, if not healthier than when i first cut them from my mom's...my plan is to let them root for a few more days, so that i get the best yield per clone...to keep the leaves from yellowing i re-moistened my rapid rooters with half strength lucas...
i came up with the time to disassemble my old fan for my ballast and clean/oil it, so that it's silent, and i can mount it as a circulation fan for my mom's...i also made 4 more clones, to take over for my mother plants, so i can get rid of them and start out with something shorter and smaller...i can't wait till i make a new cab with a shorter budding room and taller veg room...every few weeks i have a few branches on my moms touching the light and i have to trim them back...
i also began the process of re-moistening the soil in my next bed, i have 3 beds so one is always in storage...it dries out and then i water with 1 gallon of full strength lucas once a day for 2 days so that it slowly leaks into the soil...i used to just put them in my tub and run the shower on them while mixing it in, but it's way too messy, this new way is mess free, sure it takes 2 days to do but i don't have to spend half an hour coating my bathroom with a layer of happy frog mud/dust...
today is technically day 9 of cloning cause i cloned a day late, and i'm leaving half the cab empty for 2 days because i want to see how many roots i can get from my clones before they start growing leaves again...once they start growing leaves they need to be flowered immediately, but if i can keep them rooting for two more days without getting any vegetative growth i should be able to max my yields...
this makes me think...usually plants try to balance the amount of growth above with the amount of growth below...so maybe smaller clones will have a tendency to make just a few roots and then start to veg again when the amount of new roots can support the very small clone above it...but with this reasoning...a bigger clone would make more roots before it had balanced the below to the above and started to grow...from what i've seen this seems to be the case...so in order to get the MOST roots possible, maybe bigger clones would make much more roots before they start to veg again...so that when i transplant them they end up with more roots than a small clone that made just a few small roots and then started trying to grow again...it would be a good way to get a deeper sea of green, like if i was doing this with 1000 watts id want the same amount of plants per foot, just twice as tall as mine are now...

well the leaves were dry today so i made qwiso with them...upon the advice of several members in the chat room i only did a 30 second wash in frozen 91% iso... i then did a second wash, about 10 to 15 minutes in the freezer to see how much i was wasting by only doing a 30 second wash...
anyways there is a pic of the before and after, the green stuff obviously made a lot, like 75% of the total by weight...and about 25% being the 30 second wash...i decarboxalized them for 20 mins in the oven at 200 degrees once the evap had finished, then they spent an hour in direct sunlight to break down any remaining chlorophylls into ambers...now its been sitting dry under a box fan, where it will stay, until tonight when i have to leave to go help my buddy trim his outdoor buds...that way it will be nice and crusty when i go to scrape it...ive found once it's evaporated it takes about 24 hours to get crusty as apposed to sticky, but under the box fan it gets crusty after just about 6 hours...
anyways i cut all the buds from the stems and put them in bags, it's only been 2.5 days but the buds are getting to dry too fast so the bags are needed to even things out...i wouldn't be suprised if they didn't lose too much more weight, if not gain some...either way it was 167 grams total before i put it in the bags, so realisticly they should end up around 150 probably but i must not forget, i took 2 plants early totalling 9 grams aprox. and one 4 gram plant i took at week 2, because it was already at 10 weeks from another batch, i wanted to see how much better the skunk was with 2 more weeks on it, no suprise, it still sucked balls...and to think that was the best of five females! honestly i don't see why female seeds would bother to sell this strain, i suppose most of their stuff is junk but seriously, doesn't look good, yeilds like crap, doesn't taste good, doesn't smell good, and it's not potent! it barely keeps up with street pot! honestly they should have just flushed these things down the drain rather than force fools like myself to pay for grow, and suffer smoking this garbage...female seeds you suck! anyways that means i should add 13 grams to the total when it's all dry, either way it ended up about what i expected...or at least it should after 3 days in the bags...
i feel like there is still room to improve, by getting more roots i should be able to substantially improve yield, and by using full strength nutes i will help yield, also my next round is closer to the light, and has no runts like this round did, also i'll be running metal halide in my grow starting this week, which should give me longer buds and higher yield...i'm a little worried that the lack of defoliation is going to make for fluffier bottom buds, if it does i'll start defoliating again next month...

I must say that the 30 secs IMO is the best way to go.
I'd rather 1 min wash, cuz for me it brings the best amount of hash or QWISO with a little green in it, but it still pretty clear, more than that will result in a dark greenish and runny hash thing. Here in Mexico ISOpropyl alcohol is a little expensive about 10 dollars a litre, I use 96° pure sugar cane alcohol or 180° as you know it, and it costs about 3 dollars a litre and its available on every common corner little store, it's natural or organic if you preffer, has no additives and it evaporates pretty fast. I made the whole thing in a bag of strong plastic, and I open the bag and aim the air flow of my 7" mini blower in the center of the bag, it takes 1 or 2 hours to evaporate the hole alcohol, and I only rubb the bag between my hands 3 secs and then open the bag and close it again trying to put together all the resin in the iner walls of the bag, so I don't have to scrap anything and the hash ball is super shiny and my fingers clean.

ya this stuff is supreme, ive never done a 30 second wash before, it was so pure it was really hard to scrape from the dish, it wanted to shatter into a million tiny flecks and pop all over, my hands were covered by the end, it melted and stuck, such a waste! lol but the end product scraped together to be about a gram of yellow brown dust, ive never had that, it's always been super sticky, i pressed it into a hard sausage and have been topping bowls with it, it instantly liquifies and soaks into the weed...the other batch is still decent, it tastes a bit leafy, but it's not sticky either, and was just a tad bit less shattery than the 30 second, it still melts right away too but there is a fair bit more residue afterward...i might just eat like half a gram of it like a pill...think it would work? i already cooked it for 20 mins in the oven at 200 so i would think it's already active...i just wonder if the whole thing would dissolve or if id just poop it out like corn...

0.5 gram of decarb hashish, is too much for me and my almost 30 years of building up tolerance, I used to eat only 0.3 or 0.4 and I'll be flying for about 4 hours, if I eat a little more like 0.5-0.8 maybe I'll be sick or too freakin' stoned to even move an arm, I don't know but self-titrating is the way, I'd go little by little. I.e. put your hash in a empty capsule, I used to put it in #4 caps. Oh and yes it will disolve, don't worry, your stomach, small and large intestine will absorb it or digest, I don't know the exact word for this body function, I'm a Dr, and know perfectly what I'm talking about.

P.S.: Only once I've eaten one gram of decarb honney oil in Spain when I was studing an Oral Surgery postgrade in Barcelona, and it happend like friday at 8pm and I was thinking in what snak I could mix my oil, and a real greasy cake was the one, then it takes about 90min, to beggin to feel something, then I went to party and didn't feel nothing special, at 1am I went to bed, then I had the deepest dream in years, I woke up at 8am, completly fucking wasted, my eyes were bloody red, and I remain fully baked until 6 hours later, all this time I was sitting in a campus garden bench, in plain sun, with only my black eyeglasses, I couldn't move anything, it was pretty fun hahahahahahaha. I miss 2 exams and I had 2 monts of service at nigh in my hospital.
