Strains that don't cause paranoia?

At a point when you have dank cuts i think a lot of them are just overpowering weed. but over the years of smoking, i think certain ones like blueberry can be pretty peaceful. same shishkaberry. from seed, i found one in karmas white og that is just plain blissful- SUPER strong high but no raciness, paranoia, and uneasiness..just chill ass super high.

quit the sativas and move to indicas.
I used to be the 1st one to get paranoid. Doesn't have to be all Indica but Indica dominant. Even I go for 60% Indica for variety. If you want bedtime maybe then mostly or all Indica.

My advice would be to quit.. Nobody's saying you have to take herb! Or it's a tolerance things and smoke more lol but I'm not one Tobe giving advice on this matter.

Bubblegum!!!!
Chemd.
Pre98 bubba.
Black tooth
Are some that are opposite to edgey para inducing for me.

It's a hard one as we don't know all the reasons why..

My advice is smoke non-racey pot in small amounts but more frequent throughout the day. I find doing this helps me enjoy the weed again. Hope this helps.

That was my only choice too when I 1st went back and I slowly built a tolerance. I was carpet surfing if I didn't LOL. Does it also if I'm ever without for a week or 2.

My advice to people who are sensitive to paranoia is to generally avoid "modern" hybrids and try classic strains. The last 30 years or so we see the same few genes over-selected for power and yield - the result is weed that just over-powers, but no complexity, no subtle feelings, just a chemical shock to the body and soul. This is valid both for sativa-dominant and indica-dominant hybrids.
While indicas are generally calmer they also have a "heavier" and more introvert high, so a general suggestion to keep to indicas doesn't make sense to me - I've got the most paranoid high from Afghan #1 (via Sam and Positronics), just as paranoid as the most paranoid Durban I've tried. Unlike the Durban it also made me unable to get off the couch, I felt like complete crap.
I suggest buying seeds from seedbanks that take fresh landrace genetics and make new selections - this way you will avoid the Dutch power selection from the past and have more natural-feeling high. You will find both sativas and indicas that are not paranoid - Hindu Kush for the indica lovers, Jamaican, Nepalese, etc. for the sativa ones.

I'm surprised nobody has said strawberry cough. I could have sworn that I've read that's it has anti-anxiety properties. Even though it is a 80/20 sativa dominant mix I've found that it is a really nice mellow high. I can get a little odd when I smoke too much and tend to over analyze things where I er on the judgment of me being in the wrong. I have always been a lightweight though. It was a favorite strain for me to smoke while out snowboarding. I fly through trees and do small cliff drops, etc. and I never felt paranoid or out of control. I will also say the same for skunk varieties as well. I don't think that they have as high a THC content as some other strains. Personally I've grown Lime Green Skunk and it was the best daytime weed. I could smoke it and still function. Another local variety, Summit Sweet Skunk was similar in this regard. I believe it was a cross of Island Sweet Skunk x C99. Others might not agree with me but this has been my personal experiences and observations.

I'm pretty much opposite from what most people report. Racy sativas make me active which seems to channel my energy. There's usually some initial anxiety but I either meditate or do slow rep weght lifts and then get seriously euphoric. I'm used to a little anxious transition from years ago when I used to do psilocybin and LSD. Indicas sedate my body but my mind feels disconnected and claustrophobic which starts a very bad feeling.

Like I said I was the 1st one to get paranoid and same case w/the 70's strains. But I loved Acapulco Gold, best nickel bag I ever bought and was like broken up dank. Panama Red up there too. Time and place could also be a factor and moderation is key.

so far, i've found some hybrids that work well for anxiety, very well at that
some other hybrids less so, and most genetics out there are hybrids, at least for the indoor grows
kind of tough to say why some work/some don't - but keep popping genetics and you will find something worthwhile

I have the exact same problem. When I get high it seems like everything I worry about slightly in life is amplified 100 times. For me it started when I began using other drugs like cocaine and heroin. I stopped smoking pot while using other drugs and went heavy for about five years. I have now been 10 years clean and have the paranoia problem when I smoke pot. I find if I smoke just enough to get a medium buzz off something not too racey I am okay, but if I get blasted, even off an all out Indica, the paranoia returns. I don't know if you used other drugs, but if so I think it can be related. My advice is smoke non-racey pot in small amounts but more frequent throughout the day. I find doing this helps me enjoy the weed again. Hope this helps.

Wow man this post was like looking in the mirror. I have now been smoking regularly again for about 6 years (12 years clean off the dope) and I can say that it is getting better (as my tolerance continues to worsen). However sometimes, especially when smoking a new strain, it does come back pretty damn hard.

Purple Urkle is my go to strain when I need something paranoia free and still stay away from couch lock. Sativas can get too racy but most strong indicas cause massive couchlock. Purple Urkle is "soft" on the user in these areas.

My .02

Peace!

Not sure if it is just me, but due to sinus issues, sativa makes for unnecessary pressure in my head, thus I tend to like indica. But some of them will knock me out and then cause extreme anxiety, something I am already prone to anyways. Usually only smoked in the evenings for a sleep aid. So could be my problem as well.
I need to try earlier in the day and around friends. But would hate to have an anxiety attack in front of people.

Mind over matter! Take control of the high, don't let the high control you. Take a step back mentally and think to yourself that you are high on weed and the worst that's gonna happen is you're gonna get hungry and tired. You may fall asleep. You may smoke more weed. I'm just saying, put yourself in the right mindset and enjoy the massive spectrum of highs produced from different strains. :)

There can be so many factors involved. Cannabis has esoteric forms of expression in what it shows you once under the influence. None of us are perfect and smoking can reveal issues that we bury in our minds and subconscious. The fact that we get paranoid can be an indication of not feeling good about yourself.

These are only my own observations. I quit smoking weed for quite a number of years and now only do it occasionally (once/twice/thrice a week). I now enjoy the high soooooo much more than I did. The plant itself has a grip over us. We need to have ultimate respect for its properties.

In my mind, if your growing your own, one needs to decide what they want from their smoke. If you want to be taken to the edge then there are plenty of varieties that will take you there (unless your tolerance is massive). If you want social, happy, giggles and entertainment then search around and find that which will take you there.

I'll never be a heavy smoker again. Sometimes when wanting answers then I'll consult with the plant. Sounds like hippy bull but there is a lot of knowledge in what can be found from the high.

Ultimately... Don't worry... Be happy... There's people in the world who are really having a fucked up time and can't even imagine what it is to have the leisure time most of us do. :)
