Hi all, as a new member I am looking forward to discussing the many facets of a wonderful plant and gaining experience from anyone who can give it. I have grown for a few years now and been lurking here for some time but now its time to get my hands a bit dirty, like a after eating a dirty burger I guess.

I have recently started vertical thanks to this site, hopefully things will go well.

thanks

Great news Brother Bear, you growing indoor or out?

I am growing some indoor in soil at the moment, I don't know if I will continue this, but hey I am trying it out. Having some trouble with watering, my computer is on the way out to I think, the battery has started playing up. Is it true I can't post pics until I have 50 posts?

Thanks brickadobe, yes I think its a good use of space too, what are you growing brickadobe?

Lost my OD crop this year, to much going on inside i guess

Unless it has been changed recently you should be able to post pics right away. You can't PM or get into chat before 50 posts though.

Whats your trouble with watering ?

Wow all, thanks for the warm welcome, I lost some OD stuff but this year but that was due to mold, so much rain it was ridiculous. Now its as dry as a nun's badger, so drying things is quick, and I mean quick, like 2 days quick.

Great news about the pics, I will try I guess, I am a bit noid about posting pics but what the hey, I will do it anyway, I even downloaded photoscape yesterday.

My trouble with watering is that I have soil indoors and when those suckers dry out in 40 litre pots its a bitch, when I water the water runs straight into the tray as the water beads, its also hand watering and it really sucks, automated is so much easier.

I have 1 lot on a timer but I have had trouble with cheap timers, so I need to spend some money on a decent timer.

Hydro101, give it a try you may never go back.

DocGrow, thanks I have seen this and thats why I am here, I am sure I will get some help with some of my lazy habits

Hunderd gram Oz, I have seen your work, keep it up

Drift13, thanks

Hello Dirty Burger. I'm new here, too. I have read and understand the guidelines. The extent of my experience is with garden vegetables, mostly stuff I've learned over the years from my grandfather and members of his generation. Currently, I am rolling out my own project with the assistance of a friend. Everything looks really wonderful and I feel as though I have taken a proactive approach as it relates to available genetics, pest control and feeding. A size-able portion of my veg is experimental in nature. Despite using a soil-less mix, I am focusing on mycchoraiezal development for the sake of breathing life into a very stable and predictable substrate. I realize that my approach could slow my progress down as it compares to more aggressive fert programs, but I feel that the end result of patience is to be worth the wait.
That's enough about me for now. I'm glad to be here and am doing so to LEARN, and possibly help.

Great news Jahforce welcome to ICMAG, I'm sure you will be great to have around, older people passing on good sound knowledge to you is important, what a shame our society doesn't see older people that way. Hopefully that will change soon, after all experience is everything.

With the Mycorrhizae I'm sure they will make available a whole lot of plant nutrients, I don't feed much after a few people around here namely Heath Robinson and another experienced man named Fred state that you don't need much food, so I kept the parts low, I advise you do the same. My partner is also planning on putting in some kind of beneficial bacteria (piranha or tarantula) or fungi in the mix next grow, I hope this works for us as it works for you. After all we live on a bacterial planet.

I may also put up some pics of my harvest which came in tonight, I can't wait to see what I got for my first little vertical grow, I had an awfully smooth run except about 3 weeks into flower we realised that the timer had been going off early, like 7 hours early each night! arrghh Anyway after harvesting tonight, my first little crappy run even with this problem may give a better yield then my previous horizontal runs.

thanks for your comments.

Hi again, well it looks like harvest was the best so far, I know it doesn't sound like much but we ended up getting 7 ounces and 13 gms. Hopefully next run will be better, here are some pics of the setup.

Some of the problems included digital timer function which was giving 5 hours of light instead of 12 and this may have been happening in veg which was for 2 weeks, but I honestly don't know how long this was going on before it was discovered.

There was also no stretch, wondering if that is due to minimal light hours?

Plant is pure AK from female seeds.

How do I post pics around here?

Oh I see I click the icon with the mountains in it. Does anyone know how to reduce image sizes to 150kb and retain original size in photoscape?

Welcome DirtyBurger!

If you're wanting to attach photos from your machine at home (rather than link to youtube, etc), what I usually do is choose the "go advanced" button at the bottom of the page. I scroll down to the upload pictures button where you get an explorer type interface to choose the pictures from your hard rive. The system will re-size your pics to the 100 Kb limit for you, so you don't need to worry about that on your end.

OK, so let's see some pics!

Have fun!!!
