H3ad goes Coco

How much P is too little? I've crafted my own version using Jacks Hydro/CalNit but my P is quite low, 28ppm. Not sure if that's fine or too low.

There are a lot of ways to feed coco, so it sort of depends on your runoff situation. While 28ppm is on the low side, I cannot know the ppm levels of the other elements for a comparison. If you have, say, 70ppm of Nitrogen and 60ppm of Potassium then I might think you have a nicely balanced low-strength vegetative program designed for low runoff levels. Then again, if you're rocking more like 150ppm of Nitrogen and 120ppm of Potassium the Phosphorus level is still not quite too low for the solution if you are getting adequate runoff and pushing a vegging plant with a high strength solution.

It just needs to be put into context with the other elements and the method applied. Your level could be good, or a touch low.

I suggest trying it out and working in a supplement if it seems like you need the phosphorus later on. A quick $10 2.2lbs bag of Maxibloom might be useful if nothing else is available when you hit bloom to accommodate the plant's needs if they need the extra P. Another option is that around mid-bloom you can probably cut out the Jacks micro supplement (Cal-Nitrate?) completely and rely on the base more which should help the N:p ratio a bit better for bloom. Might be enough.

My GH pH down says it contains basically phosphorus and citric acid. I'm pretty sure you can use it as a P source.

Roughly 6/12 with a dash of Epsom salt.

Thought the thing is, he stated once of upping bloom in veg, and he got lockouts ???

I do remember reading he changed to 6/12 but his other statement tells me contradictions.. also there is many who have run 6/9 perfect, me being one of them

another thing to add,, sure there is an explanation, but why on the GH flora calculator, we get different stats then then cannastats calculator?

here's the flora calculator, plug it in ( 6/9 ) and tell me what you get

Thinking about hitting my girls with bloombastic.. There going into week 4 of flower and really kicking ass and takin names. What do you guys think hit em' at half strength and see how they react or hit em' at full blast?

Yea, fuck that 6/9 shit. Its for pussies...
Your plants started to look a lot better when you dropped the additives, right?
Id go easy on the bloom booster. That stuff is strong and can throw off your mix... Especially with low ppms like the 6/9 formula
Ive noticed that the instructions on the boosters bottles are about double what you want to use according to the company feed charts. Id go even lower if you arent using high levels of base nutes

What I was saying is its not 6/9 when you start adding other npk sources to the mix.

A lot of people feed the 6/9 formula on a daily basis, and hit the plants with the bloom boosters only once a week. You definitely shouldn't be using Bloom Boosters AND 6/9 at the same time, you will fry your plants!

I didn't like Bloombastic, I felt it was better suited for soil grows, where the stuff could be broken down. At full strength, as recomended on the bottle, it only registered like 200 ppms......... which leads me to believe there is a lot of organic matter in that bottle.

I feed mine 6/9 with one boost of 3 gms of koolbloom on week 2/4/and 6 and they are fine.
With the Koolbloom the ppms are 1720 on a 700 and on my bluelab it is 900 ppms. This is with the 6/9 there no frying here very happy plants. That was with the epsom on but when I feed with koolbloom I turn the epsom off becouse the bloom has mg in it.

Gonna give this a go, been in coco for a minute, but Ive been running maxibloom with no real issues, but my environment is going to be completely dialed and I wanna get away with less nutes, and maybe a different feeding program, like water every other feeding, not sure If I can do that with this formula...

Question to those with experience in coco and using RO, apart from the epsom salts, are you guys using anything else? Im pretty good at reading my gals needs, thought about a PK booster to get an edge in late bloom with heads formula...

I calculated the nutrient profiles, but I think I would need to feed every time, with no "water only" in between feedings...

When would you guys cut out micro on a 10 week strain? Start of week 7 to week 9? And then do my flush?

Edit: H3ads formula is wrong....

So far 5/5/7/5 .5 G/M/B/Calmg/Mg (epsom salt) is KILLING it.... No where near enough N is H3ads formula, sativa doms yes, afghan doms no....

Im rocking it exactly like tyga, I used powder Kool bloom week 2 to 5 only a few times, I cut out micro at day 40 and started flushing with tap water and drip clean since day 49 a couple strains are starting to yellow out but some are taking longer and will go 9 or 10 weeks.

Also I just added a chiller to the rez to shock the roots with colder then normal water, it really brings the colors out.
