Swamp update.

The plants are over 2 weeks without rain now and they look pretty good. We had some rain yesterday, but that wasn't worth mentioning. Next rain should come on Sunday. While I was on the spot something bit me in my finger, I first thought it was a mosquito, but it was funny that I saw some blood. After that when I came home and touched my finger and it felt strange, than it has swollen. I was at the spot yesterday and my finger and half of my hand is still swollen.

Frisian dew

Trainwreck - She is close to 3m tall now and still isn't flowering yet, but it looks like she will start before September.

The thick part of the stem is under the ground

Sweet tooth - also isn't flowering, but will start soon

The sweet tooth also has the thickest part of the stem under the ground, because the strongest side branches are so low.

Church - has started flowering

Purple Maroc - has the sweetest smell possible

I took some samples, but I remembered to take them after foliar spraying, so first thing I did when comming home is washing them.

I also recharged the batteries of the deer cam and set in in place again. It should hold till the end of the season now.

One thing to remember about growing outdoors. If an area is already clear there is a reason for it. Too wet, poor soil, too much shade, deer bedding, food plot or someone has cut it.

ijim: I don't know what you are trying to say or how it is related to my update, but sure there is a reason an area is clear..

Hortic & piterr: Thanks. The St and Tw will flower soon for sure, but I don't know where to dry them, I first thought of drying them outdoor, which wouldn't be a real problem at the end of september or in october, but november.. we'll see what I'll do. Don't know yet.

One of the things I hate about outdoor is that your plants get pollinated. When I was at the spot I saw some seed pods on the frisian and now I found a ripe seed on a Purple Maroc bud. I don't know why people don't remove their males.

i would guess it's not that people aren't removing their males but local hemp...the midwest is absolutely covered with it, leftover from the days of hemp farming.

i live in Minnesota and every single one of my plots is within a few blocks of hemp, it's my biggest issue actually, finding an area that DOESN'T already have cannabis growing...i find that because the hemp is feral and came from fields, it's usually mostly found along farmland in ditches and along roads in towns that were built over farmland...this means to get away from it you usually just have to strike off into the woods, where hemp hasn't penetrated, after that i look for clearings and usually i only end up with a few seeds...

the male hemp plants are actually fully flowered at this point, hemp flowers really early, all the stuff in my area's about 4 weeks into budding and the males should be dying off starting this week...this means later flowering females aren't affected much by hemp but if you are growing in the midwest i would suggest you take a closer look at the nearby ditches, because it's much more likely that you are getting pollinated by feral hemp over some grower who just didn't kill his males...

they look great by the way keep it up!

This thread is a great inspiration Phantom! Thanks for sharing bro, you inspired me to dig bigger holes and haul way more dirt next year!

You plants look amazing! Fucking monster :)

Best of luck dude!

Peace!

señorsloth: I don't think that hemp pollinated my plants, because very little people are growing it. Few years ago it was impossible to grow hemp and make profit, because of the law. In last two years the law has been loosened and I know that last year there was one field with hemp and the guy growing it messed it up pretty much IMO, this year I don't know if anybody is growing it. You can be sure that around here there are more cannabis than hemp plants.

Buddah Watcha: You won't regret investing in more dirt for sure. & Thanks!

Not all your seed was fem'd. Is it possible one of your own males popped before you removed it? If so, like Axl says, it's a blessing. We let the odd male live just long enough to pop while our females are just showing. That way we get a small amount of acclimatized seed which also carries relatively early genetics. Important to us because we can't go past mid-October the way you will. Anyway, I hope that's the source of your seed. Either way, it looks like a great harvest awaits!

Two heads: No, none of my plants pollinatet the other. I have only girls and if I had a male there were much more seed pots. Actually my weed gets pollinated every year at least a bit and I don't ever have a male.

Bogatin: Nice to see you around again.

Eugen: Lol, my hand was swollen for three days. I really don't know what bit me.

#1cheesebuds: How we do it? I think that all you need to know you find on the first few pages of this thread.

Backup spot update.

The St was lying on the ground, seems like we had some strong winds (hope swamp plants are ok), the Passion is leaning to the ground and has bud worms and the NL isn't even flowering. This is the short version.

Sweet tooth - is probably a week into flowering
