ST3-ODIN - Thanks man! If there is anything here that helps someone, then I am really happy about that.

So, here's the latest NL pull after a 4 day dry. 17.2 Grams. Not terrible. But I know now that I am getting these strains dialed in as far as height and whatnot goes it'll get a little better.

The scale loves to be used...

Jarred up for the cure...

And now here's what's up in the flower cab with the Mandala #1. I like the middle one the best, that is M2. For sure gonna be a mom. I think M3, the taller one, might get scrapped. Not sure about M1, the runt, but she is about 2 weeks behind the other 2...

Here is M2 close up (sorry about my shit camera)...

And the latest 2 M2's to go in...

And lastly, the temp in the attic on a 100 degree day, holding at 94 degrees...

That's all for now, happy farming, stay safe!

Tex, looking good! I think its the radiant barrier. You didn't mention spray foam insulation which I have seen in attics in newer homes. It will also make a big difference in the temps. You are also using CFLs instead of HIDs so that helps a lot. All that matters is its working just fine and an attic is the perfect place to grow. (Assuming you can control the environment) My wife or kids have not been in my attic in at least five years.

The bud looks great man. You're making me really jealous that my grow has another 4 weeks to go :D.

Your rubbermade duct-connector is sweet too, I might steal that idea for next time. Does it get a good seal with just the lid, or do you have extra sealant?

JohnG - No spray foam. It is working out so far. I was worried about the summer temps, but so far so good. I grew thru the winter already, so I know that'll be fine. Gonna stick w the CFLs, they're working and easy to get at the Home DePot. Cheers mate!

Kush - It is a bit steamy up there man, if I had a basement I'd be there, but I don't, so this works. I got my own private space to grow, the wife doesn't see it, she enjoys the results, I get to do my thing, everybody wins! Say hi to JHerbz brother!

gtgio - hang on till the end man, patience is key. I didn't do anything with the Rubbermaid tote to seal it any extra. It seems fine as is. Good luck with your budz.

sgapetti - thanks for checking back in. That middle one does look like a nice mix pheno, and the other looks much more sativa. The runt is about two weeks behind and playing catch up, we'll see how it comes along.

Mahalo,
Tex

hey man you got any updates? I'm interested what you can produce while battling those temps because I have similar issues

MrCopyZ - 17 grams was nice, it goes too fast though. I got a bit off track on my perpetual schedule and now I have bit of a gap.

JHerbz - Good to see you back man, it is amazing how much better it is when its from your own garden.

soursmoker - Temps inside the cabs have been fine. Air gets pulled in from inside the house. The worst cab temp I have seen this summer was 85, that was on a day when it was 106 outside. They have been staying around the high 70s to low/mid 80s. Over the winter they were high 60s to low/mid 70s. I can live with those temps. Been averaging 5-7 grams per girl. Got the 1st Mandala #1 coming out next Friday. I will post on that once it dries.

Happy farming, stay safe.

Mandala #1

Mandala #1

Pulled the 1st Mandala #1 the other day, 5.3 grams dry. Not terrible, about on par with what I have been getting from the NLs. I got off track with the perpetual while trying to find M#1 Mom. So I have a few weeks of a gap now, bummer. But, back ontrack soon, chugging along.

Hey Tex! very nice grow going on here! Your air ducting has been very inspirational for me, specially the drying box!! Sweet and elegant idea!

Which one? #2? The one you are going to keep as mom?

See you selected the Mandala strain most suited to your grow based on light intensity (8 Miles High and Mandala #1 are rated by Mandala's as proper for 150W HPS...

I grew Mandala's in the past (Sadhu and Kalichakra) in coco, and became a big fan, just keep looking for Moms! Hopefully you'll find a better yielding one, though this strain isn't rated by mandala as a big yielder indoors. Don't forget to post the taste/high!

I'd try kalichakra (in fact I'm going to try it as I still have 4 seeds, as soon as I get my cab setup and going). In theory the Kalichakra needs 250W minimum, but I'm sure if I get one pheno I had would be a decent yielder under PLL, plus it has some sort of citrusy taste and a very clean, sorta "mystical" high.

I'll stay here watching the show :)

happy farming and good yields!

repuk - We tried the Mandala #1 and it isn't nearly as good as the Northern Lights, was quite a let down. I don't think I will grow it any more. Sticking with the NL until I run across a new strain to try.

wsup tex, sorry to hear about the mandala #1 , i was very happy with the quality I got out of 3 different phenos and even some F2 , but i keep my plant very close to the bulbs. I am looking for a mom as well in the F2 but got 7 males out of 7 seeds:laughing:last time . i will pop some more next year.

sgapetti - The Mandala wasn't bad, it just wasn't as good as the NL. Actually the wife wants me to keep it in the mix since it wasn't quite as knock-you-on-your-ass as the NL. So I may hang on to it. We'll see. I'm just happy that the perpetual setup is on track now.

Heheh :)

Try the kalichakra then, she will be delighted. All women that tried it loved it.

What seed bank is your NL from??

Repuk - the NL is from Nirvana. I haven't heard of kalichakra before. I don't know when or how I will get any new strains. I ordered these beans before I had anything setup. Now that I'm in production I'm not sure if I want to risk having any beans sent here. And I keep this secret, even from our best friends, so I don't want to send them to anyone else's house. I'm good with these for now. Thanks for checking in!
