Ok i gotta see if running my 4ft 8 bulb t5 will be worth the time. I have 4x8 tent that i had a 1000 in it but my electrical situation wont let me run it.

cant put up funds for any equipment but some warm bulbs for the t5. im sittin on 4 x 1000watt systems with daystar 8" hoods an there useless, cant sell em cause i havent a clue how to go about that. so i came to the conclusion with the t5. im like 2 months out from gettin a led light but untill then i gotta grow meds some how.
damn nobody.......crickets in here lol......guess the t5 wont be an option. I'll just veg till I get my led in a couple months.
I flowered under t5s once on the white berry and blue cheese in my signature. Cant really say they're good or bad because I had em in tiny pots, and that's the only time I ran it. You could do OK in the right sized pots I think.

Personally I wouldn't bother for flower, and as for flowering with a LED panel, I'd be sticking with HID.
Save the $$ that you'd have spent on a LED Panel, go spend Pennies on a lower Watt HID setup, and Bobs your Aunties Husband!

Forgot I never got dried pictures up. The buds weren't too bad, but they're not gonna have the density of HID grown buds. A scrog with many heads will still get you some smoke.
If you could scrog to where you have about 40 heads under a 2'x4' t5 hanging about 10 inches (or closer) above their heads - you'll do alright.

led panel is my goal....low heat is what i need and low watt consumption...leds have come a long way and they now are upto PAR...pun intended. I can get 3x3 deep penetrating coverage for only 185 watts and very little heat. Im just gonna wait it out till i can flower with the led. thanx for the input.
true, but im lookin at a model that gives you coverage of a 600w with little heat and only drawing 185 watts. gonna go that route an run this 400 that im swappin for a 1000 in the meantime. hopefully sooner than later. just gotta move outta this house so i dont burn it down from shitty wiring.

you can sale your equipment on ebay. I have done it no problems. I sold 4 Ballast on there. The reflectors might be harder do to shipping maybe local pick ups only for those..

I have my ICMAG beer cup comp ladies in a ghetto cab under cool 4 x 2ft T8s with a couple of 20watt cfls to help them along. Here is a pick of one at about 6-7 weeks.
There is another guy in the same thread using 4ft cool T5's with good results. So it looks quite posible.

Here's some pics from under my 8 lamp 2ft fixture. I grow with a scrog as the harvest is larger. I'll put my weed up against anyones for potency and flavor. Anyone that says you can't grow excellent weed under T5 has never tried it or couldn't grow weeds in the front lawn.
