Humbolt County's Own Additives

I have historically used Pure Blend Pro and Botanicare additives in almost all of my grows. I have only recently switched to CNS17, and right now I'm trying that with zero additives to see how that goes. I've been doing a lot of other reading to see what I want to try next if CNS17 doesn't provide me (or my plants rather) with satisfaction.

Throughout these forums a few products from Humbolt County's Own pop up here and there in posts. Mostly Bushmaster, Purple Maxx, Snowstorm Ultra and Gravity.

I did search for these threads on these but most of them are years old. People also seemed to have pretty varying results with each. Some people were opposed to the inclusion of the plant growth retardant PBZ in gravity and I think bushmaster too if I remember correctly.

Has any consensus been reached on these products?

Is anybody using these that can share insight?

I'm most interested in Snowstorm Ultra since my final product is coming out not as frosty as I think it should be. Certainly there are a lot of other things that contribute to trich production than nutrients, but this thread is not about those things.

i tried bushmaster and used the weakest dosage. totally ruined 3k worth of weed . stopped stretch tho . but yield suffered the weed had little smell and thc. was like seedless mexi and fetched the same amount. same strain i had ran for years. tossed it and gravity out. did some research an was glad i did. i dont mess with that shit anymore or anything like it. but others love the stuff. your gonna hear alot of mixed reviews. i dont like using chemicals/pgrs ect to try an achieve what i can achieve with more growing skills or a different strain.to each their own

the snow storm ultra works but for the price there are much better more productive additives to use LIKE blackstrap molasses for example.

First off Snow Storm Ultra and molasses is not EVEN close to being the same thing or even comparable products.....molasses is good, it is a source of calcium and magnesium and provides food for microbes.....but to say it is a replacement for Snow Storm Ultra???? I think not.....apples and oranges....IMO

Snow Storm Ultra is a VERY cheap additive considering it has the most concentrated amount of triacontanol and Snow Storm Ultra has multiple uses so it is a very good thing to have on hand.

Snow Storm can be used as a cloning additive for your clones, and can replace any cloning solutions.... in can be used in veg cycles and will help to produce massive root systems......and of course it can be used in flower and is VERY effective at increasing resin production, ect......

Snow Storm Ultra is a really great product and it is VERY reasonably priced considering how many products it can replace! You will be hard pressed to find a better additive than Snow Storm Ultra.

Cheers!

got any proof?
How about you find the information for yourself??? Exactly how did you come to the conclusion that I need to PROVE something to you???

You can either take the post I made and decide I might know what I am talking about and then YOU investigate further and see for YOURSELF!!

Or you can take my post as a grain of salt or complete utter BS for that matter!! It makes no difference to me you see as I already tried and tested the product for myself and found out all the awesome benefits from using it, and I also did the needed research to find out what was in it and why it worked so well....guess I am just CRAZY like that.....if you decide to take advantage of a great product, more power to you...if not....more power to you!!

I do not OWE you anything, proof or otherwise, lets get that straight right now!

I really do not understand where these people get the idea that someone has to PROVE something to them......if you want to take advantage of other growers experience with a product and again SEE FOR YOURSELF, then by all means....you might just LEARN something.....stranger things HAVE happened!! LOL!!

I am not here to PROVE anything to anyone, I just saw the thread and since I have used the product for years now and even before it was even available in stores as a product testing sample, I thought I might comment on its uses that most do not even know about.

MOST think it is JUST a pk booster or flower booster....and it is WAY more than that as I explained in my post.

What you do with the information is up to you......

Thanks BioMaster, I am most interested in using it to boost resin production. You just foliar feed it right? When do you use it in the cycle and how often? I think the label said once a week?

I might pick up a bottle and use it on like half of the plants I have in flower right now, but they've only got 20 days left to go so I'm not sure how effective it would be.

i think thats why were here...to get proof from people that have used it not just read a label or read there article on it from the net........so again ....got any proof? if you got a grow of side by side style i would love to see it. Proof is in the pudding!

Snow Storm Ultra works well in my experience. Definitely foliar feed versus using it in your nutrient solution. Foliar yields much more dramatic results and requires half as much.

I have decided that I will not buy Bushmaster or Gravity in protest of PBZ being included behind the scenes. Either they were aware of the fact that PBZ was controversial and wanted to hide its inclusion, or they wanted to pass off the effects of PBZ as something unique that they had come up with on their own. I find both possibilities dishonest and I don't want to encourage this kind of thing in the hydro community.

I'm actually starting to have better results with some other things I'm doing and the (possible) marginal benefit offered by snow storm ultra seems less desirable now.

I tend to agree with that line of thinking.
Not to kick a dead horse, but I've been told snow storm ultra has not so good levels of arsenic in it....
