Hygrozyme VS H202

They are both great products when used at the right times..
But which is better, and when should they be used?
The following questions pertain to hydroponic usage, such as ebb&flow.

-Should Hygrozyme be used at ALL times and simply added to your reservoir with your nutrients?
Or should it only be used every-other week, or another alternate usage other than at all times?

-Same question for H202

-Should they be used together? or would that be a bad idea?

-Would it be best to use Hygrozyme at all times in your nutrient reservoir, and only run
H202 briefly in-between reservoir changes? Or should I use them in a different combination?

Thanks.

That depends on what you're trying to do and how you're doing it. Ive heard of bad results using this in a recirculating system or in the res with roots. I would look around if you plan on using it in a drip system.
Ive found that Hygrozyme isnt really the best digestive enzyme product. People think its more of fulvic/humic acid that helps your plant uptake nutes. There are other zymes that break down stuff a little better.
Sounds like an awesome product. How much can you spend on nutes and electricity before its cheaper to buy smoke though?
Ive never used H202 on my roots. I suppose if Im ever out of options I might try it.

No do not use hygrozyme with hydro unless you combine it with beneficial bacteria. Hygrozyme feeds good and bad bacteria, so if you don't have good bacteria to combat the bad bacteria, you're going to have problems. Use h202 by itself. You can use hygrozyme and h202 together but it's pointless. h202 will break down dead roots through oxidation and it will kill all bacteria, good or bad. Hygrozyme is best for soil and coco.

I am in hydro ebb n flow in airpots filled with hydroton . also and have used both separately . I have never gotten root rot and dont use beneficials any more .I have wondered if I realy needed Hygrozyme . Its is expensive . I use it because I thought it would help out with the root system but from the responses sounds like it is better in soil . When I first started I would use h2o2 which would be better for recirculating systems. some people say h2o2 isnt good for roots .
so which is better or none of them ?????????????????????????????????

Hello All! i have been growing for about 15 years, Hydro and soil and i have been using Hygrozyme for about the last 7 years and have never had root rott because of using it i started using it because i did have some root problems and it did fix it, as far as benificials go i use the extreme garden mycos and after a conversation with them they were not so sure that Hygrozyme didnt kill it, they did say at a much lower dosage of zyme it should be ok but they would not swear to it, so i guess what ever works for you my not work for anybody else...thats just my 2cents.....

Hygrozume will cause major problems in a recirculation system. If your drain to waste Hygrozume is good.

I used it recirculating with AN tarantula for at least half a dozen crops with no problem.

Once I am thru with this bottle of grozyme I wont be buying another though, don't see enough noticeable difference and the price is way to high.

Yeah it seems like half the people think its BAD for a recirculating hydro system, and other people say they have no problems at all with it, or that its GOOD for the roots..

Im running a recirculating hydro system, so should i not be running hygrozyme?
Should i add beneficials? should i stop running h202?

And how would i get root rot from running hygrozyme, with 65 degree water, and h202 in the res? i dont understand how thats possible.

you wont if you are running h202 and hygrozyme because h202 kills the bad bacteria. But why run both when h202 breaks down dead roots? If you want to spend all that money on hygrozyme in addition to h202 then go for it. Shit is expensive.

it is not a matter of which one is better... but which one is right for which style

it is not a matter of which one is better... but which one is right for which style

h2o2 is meant to be used as a cleaning product...

it can also be used at low concentrations to keep your res sterile... if you run hydro and use chelated salt fertilizers (Hydro Nutes) then it works, and you can forget using the hygrozyme it becomes unnecessary...

then if you are using organic Ferts, you need beneficials, which h2o2 will kill... in which case use an enzyme product, and using the h202 in your res becomes unnecessary and actually counter productive!

don't use hygrozyme and h2o2 together they are contradictory supplements... is that clear enough.

 Yeah,it seems that newbies want to use every gadget at the hydro stores without understanding any of them

Ive used hygrozyme in soil with excellent results though I was using chelated Nutes... and I have used h2o2 in my Nute water... and never will again... I will only use it again as opposed to bleach, to clean my containers after a cycle!

Ive chatted with the folks @ hygrozyme... it does not hurt the beneficials... enzymes are produced by bacteria in the first place, so it cannot hurt them

guys what about sensizym in hydro will it keep root rot away? im trying to avoid using a chiller in my aero system after seeing some brown roots last crop. sounds like it could be better than hygrozyme at least in hydro
