You know you're in trouble when each and every organic supply house in the PNW has rejected your products and all you have left to market your crap are sockpuppets on a cannabis grow board.

This company's marketing strategy initially was sending around a drunk to extoll the benefits so now it's down to this.

Best wishes, Cupcake!

The only GH product I EVER bought was that tiny little 8 dollar plastic cup of pyrophyllite clay...and then I discovered I was being pooched and sourced my own clays. 25 years growing and still never gave more than 50 bucks to those guys...Thank you~

These were red - again from Costco meaning that you have to buy a ton of them to get the 'good dude price'

No big deal - I seldom pass on cuttings to the degenerates the run the clinics much anymore - especially after I learned that 2 of them were selling my cuts to 'patients' - compassionate caregivers and such.

I was just curious - a lesson was learned though. Stick with professional nursery products.

Oh yeah - pass on doing good deeds for stoners.

Here's the latest post from my very significant other...this is the level we are at...this is just one of the realities we are living....and there's much much more we are involved in within the cannabis community.
Bullshit exists out here too....but out here reality and face to face interaction keep reality on the plate......

QUOTE:

"Went to a fundraiser for Cash Hyde yesterday, he's a 4 year old using cannabis to fight cancer in Montana. His family was supposed to be there but they just found out they are battling cancer attack number 3 :(. This was such a big deal because the local dispensary holding the fundraiser got Marybridge Hospital to sponsor their cause and donate "reggae runners" which are the little tyke kid flintstone style cars that are modified to hold an IV pole so kids can get around the hospital and have some fun. This is huge even in our cannabis-friendly Washington world to bridge western medicine with the cannabis movement. Woo!

And on an even more personally exciting note, I got to vend next to Gary Kline and his wife all day. We really connected... had lots of time to talk "organics" and they are ready to start getting a foot in the cannabis world. They were just vending his "Medicine Man" line of soil. They were excited to meet me and impressed with all the quality I offer and how I connected with and helped so many patients etc. They then asked me to send them a proposal for giving a class on processing which I'd have the BLO facility to do it in. I'm super excited and honored to be bridging this world also, especially with an organic guru!

Gary Kline has been promoting organics in the area for decades and is now semi-retired. Folks know of him both near and far and this is a very exciting connection to make and awesome opportunity for me to give a class in such a legit setting!!"

I saw your thread on PL Light Systems and couldn't quite figure out what you were asking - the term 'flip' isn't one that I'm familiar with.

I've been using these ballasts & reflectors for over 25 years. Still have and use some of the original ones that we purchased.

CC
I heard about them from you in this thread, CC. I am planning an electrical/lighting upgrade and I am exploring my options. They offer PL at my local greenhouse supplier, but they said the lights will be shipped directly to me from PL since they are special order (apparently remote ballasts are not the norm over there) I prefer using these guys over the "hydro" store.

I currently have 2 flowering rooms with one ballast. Every twelve hours, the power from the ballast is switched between the lamp in room A and the lamp in room B. The ballast runs 24/7. It cost less for a flip box than a second ballast, and you can maximize your potential if you have limited power (I only have 15 amps to work with). I use the "flip box" brand, but many people are making their own, using electrical relays.

I just got a call back from the greenhouse supplier. They left a message and said that a 1000 watt remote unit runs $405, and is ready to plug in. I emailed the sales guy at PL with this question and he is away at their sales conference.

I need to know what kind of cordset they use, is it hardwired into the ballast, can the ballast operate on a relay (not all can) and can I get a second cordset, hood, and bulb with no ballast, or do they only come as a conplete package.

I prefer remote ballast because I have small rooms with low ceilings, and it is easier to deal with the heat when they are outside the room, but I might just get four PL200 fixtures (with attached ballast) if it is cheaper than doing the flip option. It made sense because I had limited electricity, but that is about to change so the only benefit would be if it is cheaper.

Are you familiar with an organic garden store somewhere in and around Seattle or Redmond with the name 'Black something'?

CC
Black Lake Organics near Olympia....Gary Kline....gets his stuff from concentrates. 30 year organic soil nut. I get my stuff there when I can't make it to Concentrates. I break down and buy worm castings there that he makes. He feeds them mineral and plant based goodies...much like you do.
He's semi-retired and kind of out of the loop..old enough to be many peoples grandpa on this forum.

So here was the test that I ran:

At the time I was using the Sunshine Growers Organic Mix and I ran 4 plants for this test.

1 plant had 'Alaska Magic' for the humus source

1 plant had Yelms worm castings and this was after he screwed everything up for higher profits which really didn't work out in the long run. He's running around to grow stores trying to get them to carry his product.

2 plants had Marwest Compost for the humus source before they listened to SFI and started adding wood chips to their compost. That sure worked out for them didn't it?

Thankfully I had 2 plants in the Marwest product - 'nuff said

All of these lights are shipped from their North American operation in Ontario.

However, OrchidWeb.com carries a few these light systems and they are remote ballasts. Might be a good place to start perhaps.

Marwest yooooost to be the best bagged organic compost $ could buy.

Yelms EWC is a laughable product....full of filler with very few noticeable actual castings. I see them at the co-op.

The guy at the place I called said remote units only come in 1000w, orchidweb.com only has 400w units, and PL Light systems doesn't list any remote units on the website. I am confused.

I emailed the FlipBox people, and if they don't know, then I guess I will just have to wait to hear back form PL Lighting.

Contact P.L. Light direct via email. I have a 600w HPS remote set-up.

It's not a big deal. At their web page is a contact for the USA rep. He can dial you in.

CC

EDIT: Hummert International in St. Louis has a wide range of models including the 600W remote.

The words biodynamics still make me make an "you can't be serious" face.. I can't scoff too much though, because they make some really good wines.
I agree - Steiner's writings are an interesting way to spend a month I suppose.

But what does make this specific product a good one is that this company is still serious about the compost they market. That won't last - never does. But for the short term for people wanting to wean themselves away from the grow store junk this is a good starting point.

At least they use dairy manure and not steer manure - that's a start.

Homeopathic adjuncts though?

That just means they added a bit of yarrow to water, then diluted it like 10,000 times (at least it does in the medicine sense)..

I agree..

The bulls horn stuff is a bit far fetched. Yet there are principles of ergonomics that can actually physically be applied and really for all the hoopla do work.

The ol' burried horn filled with one of the BD concoctions is 'interesting' - but only if you bury it under a full moon. Don't want to forget that part or it could be a failure. Imagine that a single horn in the middle of 30 acres can pull that much 'lunar power' down to the soil.

And then there's the buried stag's heart - try ordering that at a meat counter sometime.
