Sometimes bad luck is just bad luck. Sorry it happened to you, it shouldn't happen to anyone. I hate thieves no matter what they are stealing. I hope you get some good luck to help balance out the crap storm. It sounds like you are obviously in a med state so at least you could call the cops. If I called the cops here they'd throw my ass in jail. Maybe the cops will understand that the real danger isn't so much people stealing weed but having intruders on your property where yourself and your loved ones sleep and will give the situation the serious investigation it deserves.

Here is the story if you guys want to hear it.

I noticed somebody ripped a branch on Tuesday. Not sure it happened on Tuesday, but that is when I saw it. just a small amount, but prompted me to buy a camera system and set it up that night.

Saturday - Got my camera up and running, texting my phone with anything that sets off motion. Sends me e-mails, can watch from three tv's in my house and my cell phones and tablets, sweet right?

Sunday - 3am Four guys wearing camo came to the back of my fence. My cell phone was alarmed, but I was dead asleep. Two jumped up and sat at the top of my 9' fence for 5 min. I can only assume waiting to hear if they alarmed the dogs, or me. After another 5 min of slowly walking around in the back yard they decided to rip the plants with two crappy hand saws. Got most of the plants cut and started to throw them over the fence to the other two guys waiting. At this point the other guys would run the cut branches down the street to a car out of view from my cameras. I think this is when my dogs noticed them and started to bark. I bolted outside with some non lethal weapons but they were long gone. They left a trail of crap all the way down the street. Wasn't bad enough I got jacked, but then I had to clean up after them so the neighborhood kids wont stubble on some herb plants.

I drove around in my truck for about a half hour looking for them, but no luck. When I got home I called the cops and had them do a report on the matter. The cops were super cool, even joking about taking the weed that was left and piling it up around them and taking pictures, pretending the made a huge cartel style bust. They didn't sweat me at all about having cannabis, and seemed like they wanted to catch the criminals.

They found the hand saws, and a hat that has lots of hair in it. I also found several cig butts down at the end of the street where they were most likely waiting, next to a burn out mark from when they left.

I don't think the cops are going to investigate too much, but I am thinking of hiring a private detective and turning all the evidence to him/her. Also I live next to a Mexican market, and the guys seemed to be of Latin desent, so I am going to post pictures up of the suspects. Also at the worker center down the street, where labors walk to everyday from behind my house. ( I have an ally backs to my house) Was even thinking of posting a reward poster.


Another thing, not saying anybody should listen to me only on this but here it goes:

When I was talking with the cops I started to say, "I am pissed that our government decided to take away my God given right to own guns in a house that has cannabis growing in it."

The cop said, "No way man, we only prosecute gun charges on the people that deserve it. Drug dealers or gang bangers, not guys like you."

I am driving up to my cabin today and grabbing my arsenal. Dudes better not come back, cause I am done fucking around.

sorry to read about your run in with rippers. hate to read about people losing their hard work and future bud supply for the sake of some moronic thieves who probably still don't know what they stole is worthless.

good point about them probably already thinking about how to get inside to get the indoor grow these guys probably think you have, or finished bud. if they didnt think that far yet they will soon i bet. best thing to do is implement added security in form of motion detectors, flood lights and cameras. make the border of your property very hard to cross.

i'd also put more plants outside, this gives them another target that is not inside for them to try for. i really like the idea of bear mace as something you can use proactively as soon as they cross the property line, without risking doing serious damage first off. try and get some perma ink spray to tag them with too, you really need them busted for peace of mind and tagging them with those ink sprays makes it easier for the cops to maybe find them.

lets hope they are a bunch of teenagers that can be dealt with without force of arms being actually needed beyond maybe a warning blast with the shotgun. maybe record the pump action klhaka-chunk and play back really loud lol.

they probably did it bcuz they are against mmj laws in general.

thats good....BUT NOW U need to electrify the top and bottom of the fence w/ low voltage wire around the perimeter....
also run razor wire along the top and sides.......

^ check your local laws first, I wanted to run barb wire across my backyard fence as part of the required ordinance of having a "secure fenced" outdoor mmj grow but was prohibited from doing so by residential zoning restrictions, despite the fact that my nearest neighbor is more than 200 yards from me....

It would be one thing if a "kid" jumped my fence and tried to steal a branch. This was 4 thugs strait robbing me. Actually, we DO get it: you got ripped by four grown men wearing camo at 3am Sunday morning. They jumped your 9-foot fence, but your two dogs slept through most of it. You only caught on after they fled, leaving a trail of plant debris. Correct? People tend to think it was kids because they were dumb enough to steal worthless plants.

You've received a lot of solid advice, but mostly I see you lashing out at people who missed some details around your story. So far, the only security measure you've said you're going to pursue is going to your cabin and grabbing your "arsenal." And you are well within your Second Amendment rights to do so, but I'm still wondering what you're going to do to harden the perimeter of your property.

Still, this thread has been instructive to some people. A few more gardens will be more secure as a result.
