Let's use common sense boys. This is an election year. The partisan rhetoric is in full effect.

and yet obama was the first to DRONE STRIKE Americans.

I think BOTH SIDES are evil pricks and they excite our "football mentality" of us versus them nonstop so we fight each other versus realize that they are one in the same and both sides are working together to fuck us.

Hello all,

Well, I would say that both sides are independently phuquing us. Since when has congress worked in unison to improve the general welfare?

You can count on one thing, politicians will do for themselves first with the remaining constituent priorities taking second base. If they are not kissing babies they are stealing the candy and lying about it.

This is of course a broad generalization as there are politicians that are more constituent oriented and try to do the right thing.

I am hopeful that Obama will "take off the shackles" in his last term and maybe do something positive with mj like was eluded to in his first presidential run.

But I would rather see more job growth and economic sanity before mj legalization.

The status quo with regard to mj is better then what we had even though it appears that with the DEA is making more dispensary busts. They are still not going after individuals as was said would not happen. So it would seem that med patients are being required to be more self-sufficient in providing their own meds. Easy for me to say, I have the option to grow my own....which I find infinitely better then dealing with the gray market.

I hate what Obama has done to America these past few years....but wasn't that MF'er in Yemen or something...and spokesperson for al Qaeda??? Called death upon us???? Well then I guess Obama got something right cause that dude deserved to die......

Now...if he used a drone in America to kill an American (not some terrorist in a terrorist country) then I would have a problem...but absolutely no problem with them killing known threats like that piece of shit.

Understanding that Romney is probably still a Mormon just for the "network" his dad created.

Have you read Under the Banner of Heaven?

Mark Twain called the Book of Mormon "chloroform in print".

^Both sides? there is only one side. elections are a dog and pony show. The federal reserve banks run the show.
Yep, both sides of the same coin.

The dems advance the global, can't we all just get along, countries are just sales regions, social side, while the repubs advance the police state to keep us all under control.

from an outsider's point of view, it seems to me that obama isnt particularly against mj - but hes unlikely to risk any of his political capital in trying to legalise it or anything. i doubt he sees it as a big issue.

the other guy looks dead set against it.

i know who i'd vote for....

I'm a far left english guy, I'm all for the people, and against globalisation, slavery, profiteering, all that shite, quite honestly american politics just scares me, it's the only way that the far right, who are currently in power here, can justify their actions without looking to china to excuse what they are doing. To hear americans say that they are against helping out those on the bottom rung of the ladder in their own nation, just makes me wonder where we are all going to end up as a race of beings.

i think GMT is referring to our national heath service. free health care for all - a wonderful thing.

didnt obama's efforts in that direction meet with a lot of disapproval?

sure its very expensive, but then being entitled to treatment and medicine irrespective of whether you have the ability to pay for it or not is a great thing imo.

VG, et alia of the more socialized countries--what Obama did was not nationalize health care. What he's done is help guarantee insurance company (corporate) profit. We're not being taxed, with those taxes going into a large medical care kitty, we're being forced to enter into a private contract.

It is nothing like nationalized health care, which I am now in favor of, considering how low on the scale the US falls. Below countries like Costa Rica and Cuba, our health care is, overall, worse? That's just RIDICULOUS! And why is it worse? Because, it's now run by desk jockeys and accountants, not health care professionals. It's become very much a 'for profit' business, and THAT is the real problem with what Obama has done. He's only masked it, made it so gargantuan that no one can truly understand it, let alone administer it. Perfect! We'll need another bureau to run it ya know.

And so it goes.

In the meantime, we here in the USA have had our right to redress in court systematically removed by "Mandatory Arbitration Clauses" which are yet another manifestation of the Corporatization of America with the rallying cry being "Tort Reform! Tort Reform! Too many sue-happy people are driving the nation's costs up we need TORT REFORM!" and by that we're losing even the right to our day in court. It makes my Libertarian heart bleed.

Honestly, I think I'd rather deal with a monarchy at this point. The head is easier to kill if need be.

HA! Don't ask that question, you won't like the answer!

Malfeasance--we haz eet.

They are, each and every one of them, beholden to someone, that someone being at least one corporate entity. What's just as big a problem, if not bigger, is how the game has been stacked in terms of appointments with former corporate Legos or lobbyists, right there IN our government, in decision-making positions!

yeah SM i realise what obama tried to do was different, and dont get me wrong the heath service here has far too many managers making money out of it etc etc.

but the idea that everyone should be entitled to medicine and healthcare should be one of the first rules of any country that is democratic and civilized imo - it doesnt come cheep though, not far off 10% of UK GDP is spent on the NHS

right on man! The healthcare bill in its original form with the public option intact would have been far better but this is better than nothing. The goal should be to make that help more efficient and effective, not to cut from those that need it the most! (corporations do not need it!).

Lol nor easter, reminds me of a conservative prospective MP who knocked on my door one day looking for my vote. I told him I didn't want someone in power looking out for big business, his reply made me laugh "oh we look out for small businesses too"
Since when did any size of business get the vote?
but sorry not looking to get the thread closed due to political content, I'll step out

DAMN...obama was just one step away from legalizing Marijuana...
right after his FEDs shut down all the dispensaries

anyone who still believes that liar needs to turn off the daily show
