well my one of my dogs had a large red bump between 2 of his toes, i went to the vet and he gave me some cream for pyoderma...he said to apply it 2 times a day, for 7 days, if after that it has not cured to go back and see him.

i was just wondering if anyone else has had this or something similar, and what was the vets prescription? and how well/long did it take to work?

it kinda looked like this but only on one toe

Joe what you need is a local steriod injection to the lesion. no cream is going to make it go away.

I choke and poke animals for a living.

Oh forgot to mention keep him from licking it. get a cone form your vet or pet shop.

went to a different vet today, and they gave me pills and a liquid drops that are supposed to make him stop licking it....the vet(who is a world renown vet, who ill leave his name out this for location reasons), said its from when young dogs lick too much in the same spot this happens and that its fairly common in young dogs....but he never said what it was, and was in a real rush...so im not sure if his diagnosis is correct....im going to try his treatment and see how it goes...the pills he gave me are called prednsione5

This is going to sound so trite, but maybe your dog needs a better (different?) food. Allergies?

I switched my girl because she shits like a horse and my husband was complaining about the bombs left where people walk. Switched her to a high quality food and the size of her poops is about a third of what it was. In the meantime, I feed about 25% less, and her coat shines like it never has before.

We used to have a Rottie with bad allergies, he chewed himself open and to the point that he wore his own teeth down. Later in his life this was actually a good thing because he became more prone to going after men, and I still clearly remember this one day when he GUMMED the poor UPS guy. We laughed about it after it was over, but before he realized he was being gummed by a senile old dog he was pretty scared.

lol funny lil story, but ya i feed good stuf to my dogs, holistic dog food, first ingredient aint no chicken meal, its real grilled chicken...and its 95$ for a 15 kg bag...about 30$ more than other top brands and 60$ more than the reg grocery store purina stuff...

the other day i was driving with the dogs in the back of my truck and one of them yelped real bad, i thaught it was the other one but i guess it was him, and im guessing that where he hurt himself nothing showed up at the time, but then the nex dday or 2 and this shows up, so im guessing it has something to do with it

Funny seamaiden mentioned food alergys , my pit is verry sensitive. This is exactly what happens when my dog eats cheap food .Blue dimond is good . Its more expensive , but he eats less of it then the cheap stuff.

My dog also gets itchy ears with cheap food , hes always flapping.

Hey.... you know what? I never realized that my girl isn't always flapping her ears and she always, ALWAYS used to do that.

I use a food I get from our local feed shop, Diamond Natural or something like that. She also gets the guts from when we make whole chickens, and I give her large, uncooked bones. She eats LOTS Of pine cones, too.
