Heres the pics of the leaves on about 4 out of 9 plants. All problems are at the very tops of them.

Alone, that is the heat... 93 degrees will do that.

Try spraying with aloe juice. It protects against heat stress, and perks your plants up like crazy.

Take a piece of fresh aloe leaf and put it in a blender with water and filter and apply as a foliar.

Let me know what you think...

I see a lot of discussion in this thread in regards to "nutrient lockout"

Can anyone explain to me what that is? What is it caused by?

ottoman... I think you have broad mites bro... they first present themselves as phantom nutrient problems ranging from lockout to camg+ .... They are concentrated at the growing tips and shoots... By looking at your pics I believe it is wishful thinking to say that your issues are nutrient related... I have seen your pics.. you are a good grower... Do you have clear ball looking spots on the undersides of the leafs nearest the growing shoots?

I'm like that lady on "Hoarders" who wouldn't give up her "Darth Tater" toy and had a breakdown...

In fact the tater hoarder is no more freaky than most of us...I crawl on my hands and knees to get to my 2k room! It's a pit, accessible thru a (hidden, obscure) crawl space. Fine wen you're 20 something, but sometimes the dirt nap at the end of the race sounds appealing so I can finally rest peacefully!

Oh I'll break down the pit by age 50, it's a young mans bunker! Peace You'ins!

For any plant to absorb any nutrients, the ph must be where it should be for each genotype of plant grown. MJ needs it to be between 5.5 - 6.5 depending on strain grown and what medium is used /style of growing.

If the ph is under or over these #'s than the plant cannot absorb the nutrients it needs. Hence the term..."Nute Lockout."

Wish I had an aloe leaf.

Having been looking at broad mite symptoms and damage in my own garden for almost 2 months now I disagree with this. His (otto's) pictures show nutrient lockout, the leaves show no folding or curl which is the main early indicator of their presence. Meanwhile his pH meter has been acting funky, and the damage looks exactly like not enough N and to much P, a sign of pH being out of range...

Yo TB, that stuff is looking dank!

Metadoneth and Coastal, I couldn't tell you either one of you are right cause I honestly just don't know at this point. I will say this metadoneth your not the first person to tell me you also believe I have BM's and this is a good thing. I want to hear others opinions and experiences with these bastards, because it seems people are having the same issues/symptoms as I am but they eneded up having BM's too. If the "lock out" seems to continue then I will take it as I have broad mites, cause I've never seen any of my plants just fall off like they have the past week or so. At the same time I've looked hard for the eggs and mites and can't say with a 100% confidence I saw anything plus my veg plants/mom's don't look anywhere near as fucked up as the flowering plants. I will keep posting some more pics the next couple days, and maybe we can turn this shit show I got going on into something positive for other growers reference in the future, I have to be honest though I've never had lockout problems EVER give me this much trouble.....

Fair enough man. Any white pistils on the plants? Do they look burnt and brown, especially the ones at the tops? That would be more of an indicator imo than pH damage.

If the pistils look normal then I'm willing to bet you 2 120min dogfishheads that you wiped out the BMs with those 2 avid applications... :D

Rolldaddy, nah only the flowering room got hot and it was only for a few hours on 2 occasions and hasn't been an issue before or after that. Plus I've had simialr things happen before and it wouldn't be the cause of why the plants look so shitty, I am confident in that. My last 3 feeding have all been ph's properly and I even check the run off of the blueberries last night which was at 700PPM's so either they're just about to turn around cause things are finally starting to swing in the right direction or the mites will take over we'll see.

Coastal, It almost seems like the white hairs aren't even stacking, I can see a few healthy and a few brown scattering through out the plants, the GC's and Chem 4 make a little nervous that you say that because I am having a hard time finding any pistils at all, dead or alive. but granted I can see both. Also my GSC's room the pistils are looking white and healthy as could be just that the plants are a bit lime in color, so go figure.

I hear ya, I think time will tell like you were saying yesterday.

I think cookies is just a super heavy feeder dude. Mine in both veg and flower want more food than anything else or they turn sorta limey like you say.

Cool Coastal, I am not saying any one is right or wrong I just don't want to jump to any definite conclusions till I am 100% confident with what I see with my 2 eyes ya know. I actually let the cookies have it during yesterday's feeding, I've been taking it easy on them cause the other plants freaked me out, but yesterday i decided to give them 850 ppms of food cause I thought either ph is fucking with me or they're just hungry, this morning I went to check on them when light came on, not much color back in the plants but they were perky and happy, all beautiful white pistils everywhere....

P.S. sorry to everyone on this thread for all my bitching and complaining the past couple pages. I promise it will stop very soon, lol....time to get my swell on, I'll take a few pics of everything I got going, veg/mom's and flowering plants and maybe it'll help a bit more in a few hours.

No worries, this thread is partly about helping out each other with questions and issues as they come along. Most people here are more than willing to help =)

This! ^

we're in the same boat right now, well at least thats what it sounds like. I feed all my plants the same thing, veg and flower. The girls in the veg room look great! super healthy. But the ones in flower, for the past week or 2 are showing the same problems you're describing. Only the top growth is being affected. I mean I know this summer has been a scorcher but temps in there havent raised 82, or atleast thats what the thermometer tells me. I didnt change up an nute solution, ph is right on before I feed, I must check the ph 4 times before actually feeding them. Never had any issue like this before.

So we're thinking broad mites? or some kind of lock out. I flushed with a weak solution and really no turn around, they only have 3-4 weeks before they come down Im just hoping they make it. So i can get in there and find this whores. Would something like azamax kill off these mites?

The problem being described as nute lockout isn't pH, per se, it has to do with degrees of the cationic saturations of the soil's exchange capacity. When there is too much K+, that will stick to any colloidal surface giving you incorrect ratios of available elemental Ca+, Mg+, NH4+. Adding more Cal Mag won't help, you need to correct the ratios.

Aloe plants are $4 at any nursery, and leaves are about $1 (BIG leaves) at aalmost any grocery store this time of year.

Also, most of the problems described here in the last few weeks can be directly attributed to the heat because:

a) plants secrete signals to decomposing organisms when hit with environmental stress (hence why spider mites hit hardest in the hot spots of the garden)

b) every decomposing organism imaginable is in full swing in summer

c) plants grown indoors, in inert media lack the natural biological controls that outdoor plants have, ie predators to pathogens

d) it is no coincidence that everyone has the same problems at the same time, especially on the top of the canopy where heat is most concentrated.

here you can get a better idea of the lighter lime green color of the plant, but healthy beautiful white pistils, giving me the impression of no BM's at least on these...
