Here's another possibility - 250 grams of 100XX which will give you about 7 gallons of pure, organic Aloe vera juice - $55.00

It's more expensive than the commercial source but you're still saving big, big money even at their higher prices and the smaller pack size may be more practical.

I purchase some botanical agents from rose mountain herbs. Last year I bought a lb of powdered aloe vera ( no X rating) from them to try, but would not recommend that particular product. It does not mix well for spraying so I used it up in teas. Just a heads up, I do recommend rose mountain herbs though just not that particular product from them.....scrappy

scrappy you are in colorado right?

do you know of a place or have a list of local businesses that have a good supply of all the organic stuff we are always trying to track down. sourcing most things seems to be a major pain in the ass on the front range, and places that use to carry lots of good stuff just stop doing it. IME the grow stores that boast a "full line of organics" mean that they have 4 different kinds of bat poo on the shelf next too the earth juice and the fox farm bottles

getting all the good stuff shipped here is REALLY hard on the wallet

I live in meesheegan bro but I feel your pain. I grow or forage whatever I can but sometimes I have to bite the bullet and pay shipping. I rarely go to hydro stores, but I do frequent farm and feed stores that cater to farmers.
One thing I would recommend is to find organic farms in your area and befriend those folks. I have made some good friends and been educated from folks who make a living off organic crops and produce. Even though they don't smoke my brand, lol.
I guess for us in organic wastelands we have to be more creative.....scrappy

Aloe vera is a super easy to grow and maintain and it doesn't need very much light at all. it was one of the first plants I tended.

Toes.

... I make the following tea:

5 gallons of water

1/4 cup kelp meal
1 cup Aloe vera juice
3/4 cup organic Alfalfa meal

I put an airstone (7" x 1.5") attached to a 22 gpm air-pump and let the material bounce around for 24 - 36 hours and drain and strain.

ClackamasCootz, I've been mixing something similar to this, w/o an airstone and a lid on the bucket (to keep flies down)...

after 2-3days.... OMFGAWD it stinks!!!

after a week... it smells like boiling horse vomit!

is that OK?

would an airstone help calm the olfaction assault going on with this marvelous stuff?

should I steep it not as long?

Respect

Edit: similar since its the same basic ingredients... except the alfalfa is $3 for 5 lbs feed grade cubes and the aloe is growing in my back yard.

Wouldnt it be ok to just throw aloe leaves whole in the blender rather than just the inner fillet?

works for me!

add just enough water to get it spinning right.

then you can dilute that purée further as required for whatever you're using it for.

if you buy it from the store you might wanna wash it first, I dunno if they spray anything on those or not....
