I'm going nuts not knowing where my pH is,
my girls are yellowing from the bottom to mid fans leaves

anyone from around here with a digital pH meter willing to help with testing tap water?

i need to know exactly how much pH down it takes
to bring 20 liter tap water down to 6.5 pH

my tap water are alkaline as much as GHE drops can measure
I'm assuming its over the chart; since it only shows up to 8.5

you Israelis are water specialists, I hear. growing crops with saline water, etc.

have you a government organisation (local even) that will test yr water? comes as a free service in this fair land. then you can work out how much pH down to add.

cheers!

buy a pH meter.

what are you gonna do when you add nutes to the water...

pH meter is number 1 tool for gardeners.. followed by a PPM meter

thanks angel, the only common denominator is the pH Down i have!
i found 5% vinegar here, what % do you use?

This is starting to sound like a Snipe hunt. Go to a pet/fish store get a P/H test kit. $5
Propper acid and base to adjust P/H $5

Mix one gallon of nutes and test P/H. Determine how much +\- it requires. (9 drops of acid per gallon for me)

P/H testers are notorious for failing (I've bought four) even if you baby the electrode deionized water can take it out.

i think all they sell here is the 5% in reguler markets
that's what i use anyways
i can probably do the test tomorrow so tell me how much water you need to get to what level
but don't forget this is only the reaction with the vineger
if you are adding furts i'm sure you know that the ph changes with the furts also
usually the flowering furts tend to bring the ph of distilled water to 6.2-6.3
because the water in the tap has a bit higher ph level's by about 0.4 i'd say you are getting regulerly about 6.8-7
that's only a raugh estimate
tell me how much water and where do you need me to get the ph
peace man

k man
tap is easy
will do it tomorrow man
if you don't see a comment remind me please
i tend to forget everything the moment i wake up
:)

i thought of a simpler way to conduct this
a bottle of commonly sold mineral water (1.5L/2L) should be used as a control
once i know what it takes to bring that bottle down to 6.5 ill be able to replicate to 20L

any volunteers?

sorry sog,as usually my memory failed me and i forgot to do the test
i will try to remember again tomorrow
sorry sog
about bottled water
the test is harder to perform because i need to waste bottled water
not really in the mood for that
i'll test it on the tap water
the best option is of course maybe you borrowing a ph tester from hydroshop just to know what your initial ph is
i donno if it's an option but it might help

the problem is the colors,
im not sure the shade of green it needs to be in
im an engineer by trade i'm used facts and numbers, as appose color guessing
i need to set a visual baseline with a digital meter to see the color the pH tester is showing @6.5

been working for years with my trusted Hanna Hi 9813-6 and
Nutra Dip - Tri Meter Continuous Monitoring System,
its all a matter of up keeping your gear,
these things have a sensitive electrode and should be treated accordingly
calibrate on a regular basis and always keep moist
follow these rules and they will never fail to accurately read!
