Sup guys n' gals.
Welcome to my Micro CFL Grow journal.. This first grow is just a test of the box, my next round is either going to be a 9 plant SOG or a Single plant Scrog. We will make that decision at a later time tho, gotta finish this grow 1st

This is just a simple LST at day 3. and the one in the yellow container got a crop but the growth came back weird... so i gave up on cropping it.

My grow space is 1'4x1'4x3'11 (Grow lab 40)
I'll post a pic of my box with the doors open when the lights come on(6pm PST)


Lights: I got 2x42w(2700k) and 3x23w(2700k) total of 130w.
I do however have cooler lights for when im vegging(2x19w)
I plan to replace another 23w or two with the 42w's or maybe 32's dunno yet, kinda strapped for cash.

Medium: 80% Perlite(Hempy Bucket) 20%(3x3 Rockwool cube.)

Nutes: My nutes is the 3 part fox farm line(grow big, big bloom, tiger bloom) and i also have some Final Phase(AN) for when i get to flush, never used it but we will see if it makes the flavor come out more?
Ive been giving them 1tbs of Grow big pretty much every day and they have been loving it.
PH has been around 6.0-6.4

Genetics: I got my clones from P.O.T in SoCal(anaheim) They were just labled "OG". I originally went for some Cherry Pie but they hadn't updated their menu ina while i guess.
Next time im getting some better confirmed genetics.

Looks good, I really like OG; I hope you've gotten a true strain because I'm sure it won't disappoint. I had thought about using fox farms nutes when I went to their dirt trio, but maxibloom is working great right now! I grew a plant in a hempy mix and it's a great method, but I would recommend a mix with vermiculite or coco (I used vermiculite at ~25% and I got two days between waterings; all other conditions being similar between grows

I thought about getting the GH line but was too late cause i had already 2 part of the fox farm just needed the hydro version of grow big.

I was going to do a mix of verm and per but i figured i would save my verm for next round. Ive seen good results with just perlite. Plus i like watering every day they are really thirsty girls!

Off to a good start man, wish I had acces to clones like that to try new strains! I used FF nutes for a while and liked em just fine. Using GH now and like em a bit better though. Good luck w the hempys.

Thanks!, ive been reading your grow as well looking good if i do say so myself. I'll prolly switch over to GH when i run out. Or i might just try a whole new line!

Plants are 5 and 6 inches tall as of 5 minutes ago. They are LST'd so they should be 2-3 inches taller if they were straight up.
Fed them with 1tbs Grow big and decided to work 1/3rd a tbs of Big Bloom in.

Shrooms are great fun. Been a few decades but I do remember. If you can get some shiny aluminum sheets cheap and make a u or v shaped reflector for the lights you can double the light to the plants.

The reflectors need to be 1/2 to 1 inch away from the lights, beer cans work for the 23 watt ones. The lights should be within 1 or 2 inches from the flowering plants. Just look for heat damage to adjust them. With all that you might need a small fan to cool the canopy as well.

So far i have no heat troubles with just 1 PC Exhaust fan, temps never get above 80. Lows are about 69.

I am buying a 6 inch fan for the inside next week sometime..

Yeah ive been meaning to make a reflector kinda been slacking....

i have the lights at 3 inches above the plants to allow the stretch that happens first few weeks.. I know ill have to adjust more but ima let them grow into the lights first.


EDIT:
Man i got to thinking about the reflector, i had this top cover thing for my growlab that is black on the top and inside is the same material as the inside of the box. So figured i didnt need the thing cause i never use it so i cut it up and hung it above my lights.

talk about DIY reflector...

I made sure to look up the materials and stuff to make sure it wont catch fire/melt cause it litterally touching the lights in some spots. but its all good. It takes 97% of the heat from the lights supposedly.

Maybe poke a few small holes towards the center of the reflector for air flow if there are none. You will not need too much light till flower but the extra will not hurt.

Keep track of the plant growth as the canopy can get too hot with some reflectors.

Yes ive already taken care of the airflow. There's big gaps on the sides and slits cut down the middle for me to hang them, but the slits are huge so allow a lot of airflow. I am currently on day 4 of flower. So it got put in just in time

I want to address i have not taken care of odor control. Im working on it, i know theres tons of things i can do. I just haven't decided what i want to try. Smell isnt a big problem cause my room always smells like weed. But i want to try some of those odor gels/oils to see how they work with my micro. We shall see in the next few weeks when the smell starts to arise.

Brief update.

Day 5 of 12/12.

Yesterday when lights came on i gave them a nice flush to clean out the medium. Today when the lights came on they were hungry and thirsty already!
Today i upped the feeding to 2 teaspoons of Grow big and a half of Big Bloom. I gave them a tad of big bloom 2 feedings ago to introduce it to them early, this strain LOVES nutes i can tell.

The plant in the yellow container is the tallest, the container is a inch or so smaller then the white one.
Plant height is at 9 inches for the Yellow OG(this is what ill prolly call it from now on to differ from plants even tho they are same strain)
White OG(Lol) is at a 8 and 1/4 inches.
I'm expecting them to finish around a 13-15 inches. unless this decides to almost go 3x the length before flower, but it doesn't seem like that gonna happen in reality.




Ive been using LOTS of twist ties to get everything where i want it.




Edit: forgot to mention im seeing 2-3 pistils on some nodes. Hopefully this cut is a fast flower or something, if this is OG im looking at 65-70 days. But im sure theres quicker phenos, but the chances of me getting it from a dispensary ? hmmm

Hello guys n gals, Yesterday was the 7th day of 12/12 but figured id wait till the week was actually over to update.

So today is the beginning of day 8 of 12/12 these girls are LOVING!! to stretch, these plants would already be 12" high if i wasn't tieng them down every day! But ive got them at a respectable 8 inches tall and about 7 inches across.

Every day ive seen more hairs popping out.

Ive been feeding them pretty heavy for as small as they are, ive finally worked my way past the "Heavy Feeding" on the back of the Grow Big bottle, which is 3 teaspoons, and they havent been showing me any slow in growth/burning tips at all really.
Also been adding half a teaspoon of Big Bloom every other feeding.
I should probably keep them at what im feeding them now, but who knows she might let me know shes even hungrier!

Just updated my grow.. 150w of CFL in hempys. 1st week of flowering complete. Plants feeding heavy!

high man, i saw your post in the hempy thread and thought i'd stop by and give you a tip about posting links so you can't see all the html bs.

anyway, what you do is bracket the link between 2 html tags, and to work you need both tags. for urls the front tag is . ...shit, this is much more complicated to explain than to do so let me show you.

as an example i'll use the link to your thread in your sig and what i'll do is type it with an underscore right after the first bracket and one just before the last bracket, then i'll show you the link without the underscores.

first, here is a set of url tags with underscores in place, note that i've made the underscores red.

Nope all indoor.
The only sit outside for 5 minutes at most to drain off the extra water when i feed. plus whenever i feed its already atleast 6pm in the day(when the lights come on).


anyways i removed some of the lower growth that was gonna be airy as fuck later, so yeah.
Im so impatient.... thats something you'll learn about me.. talk about watching grass grow.... < me



feeding 3 EXTRAFAT teaspoons grow big and 1 skimped teaspoon big bloom all mixed in 16oz(1 pint) of Water. I dont feed by the gallon. My hempys res arent super deep so its not like it needs all that water anyways. But the amount i use it more then enough(lots of run off). They loving it, Vibrant green growth healthy fan leaves. The original first 2 leaves have gotten ugly ill admit, but those are the only truly fucked up leaves so im not worried.

Yeah you started from seed tho, mine was a baby clone from a dispensary. So most likely i'll smoke first, unless your strains a faster flower, mines a 10 weeker.
