What's new

stke_fingas' 3k 6X6 V-scrog

So it's been a LONG time since i was on here, never stopped doing my thing only stopped posting. Recently got my medical card and have a new since of freedom in what i do and thought i would share my experiences with the community. Back in '09 I posted a cab that i had in my apartment, which got me out of that apartment. https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=84913 That link is to the thread here on icmag prior to a vert section.

I have moved on to a slightly larger cab, 1.5" schedule 40 PVC frame and panda plastic glued to tarp material covering it. Net is 6' in diameter and 6' tall, plants are in 8" PVC 5' long with 10 plant sites on each. 5 total tubes in a pentagon shaped tent for a total of 50 plants. Will be getting a 3 week veg to fill up the net and off the the races we go. I'll have a bunch of pictures posted in a couple days after i get it all up and running, need to make a new account to host them. This run will be bio-diesel (sensi star X sour diesel) from Denver relief i believe and won some medical cup there, seen it's potential in a friends grow and now it's going to be put to the test. I got clones that desperately need to be transplanted so i'll post pics after i get them in. I hope you guys enjoy the show...

Nutes:
GH 6-9 in coco
Liquid Karma
Sweet
koolbloom or hydroplex or whatever else PK boost i have on hand.
microh-m root booster once and a while (first time using it)

I like your style Bro.....3KW in a 6 x 6 x 6 stacked and cooltubed oughta pump out some serious trichome production come late bloomage with environment dialed and all plants trimmed, pruned and shaped to create that perfect sideways canopy till end of cycle FTW.....

What`re ambient temps and humidity levels inside your 216 cu ft grow area.....anyways....

Welcome and good luck....DHF....:ying:.....

Thanks DHF, it's a producer for sure i'm shooting for big this time with bio-d. Humidity is too low to read with my meter so likely in the teen's, and temperatures are 70's-80's at night here. Cool tubes can almost be touched before burning plants, it's 3 feet away but ask me how i know that... It's actually 5ft long on each side of the pentagon, the net is 6' in diameter and 6' tall. This is my first time running coco in this set up cause it's just too hot in the summer for hydro. Trimming is my key to success, i have had many mistakes not trimming enough. Believe me bro it will be trimmed and trained, I top them too. I also remove all fan leaves that are not able to be pulled back, and trim to the stem on the outside of the net. I will post as many pictures as i can, it becomes time consuming posting a lot of pictures. I won't switch till i get a FULL net of big healthy branches, stick around it will be fun to watch how i do it. It's going to be a little while before i switch. I hope to have it full in 3-4 weeks veg. I got my tubes in and ready to transplant tonight.

Gotta be a way for yas ta pump some humidity in there Bro cuz I promise yas the plants will respond and blow the fuck up for yas.....and then....

Once stretch is over and they`re in full swellage mode with as many plants as you`ll have in there the RH will be elevated but under control with your arrid ambient conditions till end of cycle.....

70% RH till end of stretch , and then as low below 45-50% as possible with buncha air exchange to prevent airborn nasties formin till chop....

Go google "VPD/Vapor Pressure Deficit" and see why it`s so important for that "circadian rythym" of nutrient uptake and foliage transpiration FTW.....anyways....

I`ll be over here on my bucket waitin for shit ta blow up so..

Good luck Bro...DHF.....:ying:.....

Great information DHF, part of the reason i posted here was to learn more thank you. I had a little idea of the importance of humidity and do add humidity with a evaporative cooler. After that read i'm going to get a humidifier to add while i veg, it's going to be a battle with heat but i'll slow my fans down to retain the moisture. I use a can-fan 8" max fan to vent into my garage, it does well at keeping humidity low in late flower. My air changes every 4 minutes on full tilt and the fans on the floor make a crazy amount of airflow in the tent. I have not had any trouble with humidity, heat is my biggest enemy. Last summer i had two water chillers trying to keep my rez temps down, so this year i knew coco was the way to go. I vegged the mom for 2 months and she is huge, responded well to training and has great node space. This is my first run with a heavy yielding cut so i have high hopes. Thanks for replying.

Lotta knowledge to be gleaned down here in Vertville cuz we keep it real , and not sure I could even TRY and talk yas outta the stacked cooltubes with all the wattage yas got iin 36 sq ft cuz I preach bare bulbs with major air exchange twice per min and cool tubes are my enemy.......LOL.....but....

We all do what we must to control environment WHERE we are and that`s the number 1 rule , so handle it and make us proud....and ....

Run your humidifier as high as it can go for as close to 70% RH as yas can get till stretch is absolutely over , then cut it off cuz it`s obvious yas won`t be needin a dehuey in late flower , but try and up room air exchange to twice per minute FTW.......

Hell....Yas might could dry em on the vine when finished and just cut off feed till done with RH in the teens .......JK....

All bout environment Bro.....Massive lumens per sq ft don`t mean dick without providing proper environment for em to thrive in and be all they can be ultimately....and hey....

Get yas some A/C for insurance cuz environment`s EVERYTHING......so..

Holler if we can help....Buncha guru`s round these parts.....and ....I`m not included....Stay on my bucket mostly watchin and learnin these days at many places that`re rockin Weed World.....

Peace....DHF....:ying:.....

Thanks for the warm welcome back DHF, great to have advice again.

I will do the math again on my airflow, it might be faster than i said. I have a 8" max-fan on a 8" phat filter in a trash can with 2x 6" ducts from the tent connected to it. I'll make a note to get you a picture. If i turn the exhaust up there is no way i can get the humidity above 30%, it's in the low teens usually here. My crop dries in 2 days if left out on the string, but during flower it's great cause the plants are so frosted it looks fake. I can easily get it in the low 20% range in flower, that max-fan has a lot of power.

No way jose! The cool tube isn't the enemy, it's my best friend so i hope we can be friends still... ha ( a dab or two or four talking here) It's really too hot here and i refuse to use a portable AC unless it's a mini-split, but next run might be fully controlled and conditioned.

I'm a firm believer in environment determining final product, I may not have perfect conditions i admit. For the conditions i'm working with i feel it is as good as can be without plugging in more stuff. Only thing i lack is the humidity not being up during veg, but i don't know what negative effects that would have.

Got the girls in late last night and almost all made it, i replaced one that was limp. Oddly it was well rooted and looked great before i transplanted it. Maybe it was shy of the 1k, i usually stress the shit out of clones cause i have to transplant straight into the tubes from clone. I have a 600W i could throw in but don't want to take the stack apart, that gorilla tape is a bitch to take off.

So here we are day i transplanted.

With advice from DHF i added a ultrasonic fogger to get the humidity up. I haven't used it in years but is going strong. Raised humidity to 50% but leveled out.

Here is the Bio-diesel(sensi star x sour diesel) mom after 2 months veg to get clones. Big monster bush before i took 70 cuts off it.

Guaranteed the fogger`s your friend Bro.....and....even if yas can`t get RH above 50% , believe me you`ll be happy with the explosive foliage and node/budsite development compared to chokin em out where they can`t breathe/transpire and fuck with nutrient uptake....so....

Another lil somethin that helped me over the yrs was to pre-veg fully rooted cuts under T-5`s right down on top of em so they`ll stack nodes and make more limbs , and once yas put em in the bloom room and flip 12/12 they absolutely explode and blast off toward the stacked bulbs to fill in that sideways canopy till end of stretch.....and hey....Even though I hate cooltubes......

As long as yas clean the insides of em every run it`s all good . and .....I`m sure you`ll be fine with all those watts per sq ft so I`m cool with it cuz you`re controlling your environment and that means everything for a solid producin setup....

The nugs look dank fer sure....and I`ll be over here on my bucket waitin for those 50 rooted cuts ta fill up said grow area....

Peace....DHF....:ying:.....

Thanks Diesel dreams! Wish i could share a dab from each. No pics of the bubba, it fucking disappears before my phone can take a picture of it dry. ha more like i'm too high to remember to take a picture. <~TRUFF

DHF,

Fogger kept humidity up just above 50% all day, it has been a retarded hot summer and very dry. I'm glad these girls aren't flowering right now, today got up to 84F in my tent (100F day). It will flower at night so this is a veg only heat issue cause i live in hell and it's hot here.

Bro i wish i could pre-veg them in a different way, I can't get them in the holes if they are transplanted after rooting. I never have had trouble with node spacing in this setup, if anything i need more space out of the cuts i have run. This is my first with a stretch and good yield background, kush this kush that but i seen the potential in Bio-d. Huge spear shaped colas on a tooth pick looking stem, not a perfect grow but it stood out as far as yield and was great smoke too. It would be an understatement to say i'm a little excited to see how this will turn out.

Tubes are clean as can be, the pics i posted were before i cleaned it. I tested with a light meter and compared it to my friends horizontal hoods. I don't recall the exact value but it was more light out of the cooltube (his canopy vs my canopy), and it's the same all 18 feet around. I would love to hear a hood guy say it's even at any point after testing. I can still get the meter if anyone wants tests done. Hoods will never be in my garden again. Cooltubes are just what i have always used with my grows and were nasty from a battle with the borg. This one must complete with great success, I will be all over it like sailors on port whores.
