NOOB Waterfarm grow - uk cheese

i forgot to ask i am switching from the metal hailide to 600watts
hps...and i was told to keep the bulb 24ins from tops of plants i have done this but isnt it too far from the plant?? pic below

I always just do a simple hand heat test.just feel for the level where the heat of the bulb is still tolerable but it is still close to the plants.i have my 600 about 9 inches above my garden with no burn or light bleaching

hi there my last grow i done what you say the hand test my plants got bleached leafs & it was 14ins from tops of plants
but i will try it now...cheers dank

With my Pineapple Express I had the 600 hps 12" from the top of the canopy and it suffered light bleaching. Annoying when it happens to the buds as they form very badly.

Alright zamzia i have changed back to the 400watt m/h as i have to go out of town for a cpl of days!! but when i get back i will
put the 600watt back over the cheese and keep it about 16ins away from the tops...i would post up new pics but my camera had an accident with a brick wall...lol..pics up soon Peace Dank

That looks really healthy and happy in there mate... I look forward to seeing this in bloom, I really love big plants.
I've found 18 inches is usually ok for a 600watt lamp.

Hi Harry i have this plant in bllom now!! i will post some pics tomorrow.i have grown this cheese in soil and was amazing smoke so i cant wait to try the end product from hydro i am using headmasta and potash from canadian xpress so i hope its good stuff also i was thinking of using a product like ripen or canna flush for the last 2 weeks of flower anyone tried any of these...oh aye i have noticed this strain hasnt stretched much? cheers Dank

well it wasnt really my fault a cousin came round i aint seen for years..and they asked to use the bathroom and they walked into my growroom!! i no a lock would have stopped this
but i have a plan i am moving the plant tonight..to my pals flat.. happy days eh...

Alright everyone my cheese plant has been in flower 3 weeks this thursday and i have been givin them

cx superior potash

for 2 weeks now!!

i was wondering if i could add bud xl to the res aswell and what week would i stop giving headmasta and potash & just use budxl & top shooter gel..i will take the cheese 10 weeks thanx in advance...Dankuser

this plant was flowered at 12ins she is now 26ins after 3 weeks of flower

Alright folks does anyone no if i can cover up the top of the waterfarm as my humidty is 70% last night and i had my 6ins extration on full blast i also had a dehumidifier on too..but it may have stopped as when i woke it was full of water...any help would be axcellent...thanx Dank

Alright everyone here is an update of the cheese plant i am now 3 weeks 12/12 and there stinking..lol..i just checked the res & the ph is going down and the ec is going up...so i think that means they donr need that much feed at EC 1,5 i am going to take it down to EC1.3 and see if they like that better sorry no pics as of yet Sorry DAnkuser

Hey dankser mate!

The cheese dont like high EC i have found , i would give them half the reccomended feed it says on the bottle honestly,

before i was feeding in hydro wilmas at about 1.5 but a week later the e.c was at 2.2, they started locking out i am sure,
my tap water was 0.4 so if i were you i would make it up to about 1 ec including the 0.4, then if they start to show signs of hunger you can give more feed bit by bit,,

i must of wasted a shit load of feed overfeeding and i pretty sure i locked them up, my current grow is total opposite, they looking real fine even sometimes a little hot, but i sometimes just giving plain water no feed and absolutely loving it they are,
i am afraid i dont know nothing about the water farm but if its anything like the wilma in clay pebbles i reakon you better off less is more,,

Thanx for the reply and info mrsmall i have the EC1.3 at the moment and the leafs are dark green..there 3 weeks in 12/12 and they smell excellent..i have noticed tops of plants
are starten to lighten up a bit it maybe because of the 600watt but its 18ins from tops
but i can still feel heat from it..only thing is the yeild looks as if it maybe small in a waterfarm i will find out in 7 weeks...Peace Dankuser

Dank,I'm no expert but it sounds like you might have some root rot taking place.What I would do is flush with ph adjusted plain water overnight , add fresh nutes, and add an airstone to your rez.Higher temps decrease oxygen in the rez and an airstone will only help.Another thing is to put a few ice cubes in the rez to help control temp.

I just pulled my OEs 7-10 days early due to mold...summer grows are a challenge and I wish you the best!

hi Superstone i will try and get pics up today!! off my phone
i changed the EC1.5 yesterday to EC1.3 and set the ph5.9
at 1pm yesterday.... today at 11am it was ph5.9 and the EC1.4
so the EC has gone up from EC1.3 to EC1.4 i am going to take it down to EC 1.0 and see how the get on and i will add an airstone
