Not trying to sound harsh Hubble, you are a nice guy and I like you, but this is my advice.
you should send them a money order and an apology for the few days hotel. the hotel guy is separate from the farm guy. Just because they were dicks does not mean you have to return the same behavior. Happens to me all the time. some one is a dick to me when I am trying to be nice and I want to do something back for revenge, but 99.9 percent of the time I decide not too. Everyone slips though, some people push my buttons and I succumb to my human nature for retaliation, but very rarely. When I was younger I was a not nice to say the least, came with the territory though. Had to back my shit up or shut up, or get dead. Now that I am older though I have learned my ego is just a defense mechanism in place from nature and evolution to keep me alive, and avoiding those bad situations is the best way to go. the way you could have avoided that situation is when you travel with no money take good back packing gear so you can sleep out side and at least have some food. You need to be self reliant. If you were in the USA you would have been fucked. Super fucked. nobody cares here. this is a society of individuals that would tell you to fuck off if you had no money. then you would have to sleep in a park where if in a nice area you will be arrested and if in a poor area you will be mugged and/or arrested.
