We need a Columbian forum

I mean really this strain cannot be discounted. There is no where near enough information talked about here. I'm an old dude and I remember the Gold, Green, and lastly but most important The "RED BUD COLUMBIAN"...This stuff was My favorite to this very day. If you ever got the real "red bud columbian" you will not forget it . I use to get "Lids"was the term back in the day. For 35 $ and that was expensive at that time. You would get a baggy about half full (notice I did not say zip) cause there was no zips back then it was a "Bag"...of little fire engine red small buds...tasted like, well I quess I can describe it this way. Sort of like hickory smoked fuel oil...Just friggin amazing stuff...very unique taste...Put you in cartoon land.God dammit just pisses me off ...I wish more people knew about this...F**K...!

no strain has its own forum. Strains and hybrids is a perfect place to start a thread dedicated to Colombian. Columbian gold was one that I will always remember. It was like smoking pre98 bubba but yellow/gold in color..

Peacemonger, checkout punta Rosa, 50% old school Colombian red. I recently tried an early bud, and the smell from the joint was strangely familiar. I finally realized the smoke reminded me of the smell when my parents had friends over when I was a kid (late 70's) . I kid you not.

oh yeah ma man...
I remember the days of the 4 fingered lids for $20
then the gold and later the redbud hit in.
the price went up to $30-$35
and the size went down to 2 fingers
but DAMN!!
that columbian was the shit.
when we started getting the gold bud thats when pin joints started being rolled, memeber that?
one pin joint of gold wasted 4 people,
and I mean it burned you down!
the dark side of the moon and columbian weed
was a perfect marriage :joint:

or whatever you listened to :smoke:

all hail the CG, that was so fine, and so cheap
had the C Red, and that was very fine, personally the gold was best of the best
there was a spell in the 70's it was around, price i saw was around $35 or so
the look was a mind blower, nothing like it at that time, strong - but the quality was what made it shine(like gold)

Columbian is being re introduced... One of the staples from the 60's. Very good old landrace genetics. We need more of them... Peace

I actually have a thread where I will be doing some crossing and backcrossing with a landrace Colombian and Shiva Skunk. It is going to be bred with results like C99(94%) in mind. Check out my threads. I don't have any updates on it now because the first round is in progress and it is parent selection time in a couple of months.

The Colombian I have reminds me of Colombian Gold but has a smoother lime undertone almost like a Hawaiian. Terrible flower time and yield, but TOP SHELF of TOP SHELF on uniqueness of smoke and high.

I would love to use some reds for genetic melds as well. LOVE LOVE LOVE and miss the old school strains from the 70's.

i'm running some reeferman smcg/mazar i shariff hybrids now outdoors. the mis had an opiated hash smell/flavor. the smcg is known to carry some strong incense traits. reeferman stated a few years ago that the original romulan got its power and duration from columbian lineage influence. i'm looking to cross a strong heri indica leaning pheno back into the smcg/mis for a church nacotic indica type strain.

problem is, no smoke reports/grow reports on rm smcg line. he was known to have good sa genetics and one smcg pheno was used in his love potion line.

yes, there are a lot of people with reasons to dislike rm as a person based on his past. my question is strictly genetics; has anyone ran reef's smcg breeding stock that he released a few years ago to raise cash? any grow/smoke reports. i had no germination issues with my batch but this is my first outdoor grow attempt with this line.

bsc released a smcg line that the people grew out loved. bsc is gone and the smcg's were sold out when i tried to get some.

any good smcg or red columbian strains available from seed out there?

For sure.

Its a shame that the impotance of these genetics was not secured somehow. Like the World seed bank vault that holds so many strains of plant life. I know it must have been crossed over the years ,but to be able to get "Real deal' again would make many think twice about if what we have now is better than what we had then. And there are other strains as you prolly know as well. This one was one of my very favorites very unique smell taste and quality of stone/high.And yes I remember sharing a small joint of the red or gold and was almost like the mescaline that was around...the high just kept building until (I call it "cartoonland" )...Some of those strains back then ,I have not been able to find the "Quality of effect" like some of the strains from way back.
