Mr. C, $1500 for an 84 plant grow? The hydro store may be ass fucking you.

I pay 125 bucks for 5 gal of a and b aqua flakes. Used half to grow 15 lbs with 10 lights, plus overdrive, kool bloom, calmag, and epsom salt. I think a lot of the additives can be omitted, or used much less. Especially some of the newer shit like Nitrogen boost, and watered down Si.

lol, no

100 gallons every 3 days is watered.

Base nutrients are $80-90 per 5 gallon cocos, so 160-180 for base. Multizyme, Roots Excellurator, Top boost, Bud XL and I use Atami Tabzz instead of shooting powder. Some of that money goes into other products.

if i had to pick one it would be ej. i like the fact their bloom has no nitrogen. being organic is a bonus. i can get n from bloodmeal and wormcastings or use grow.

im in the same boat normally use aqua flakes but thinking about switching over to 6/9 just to make things simple with a few additives

H&g Cocos base is not expensive. Same or less than most bottles when everything is considered.
Its the best I've used. Never could get pbp to perform..

And if it cost you 160 for 5 liters of a+b then yeah you got ripped. That's how much the 10 liter set goes for

Ive used both PBPB @12 ml+ Cal/Mag @3ml with half ro and half tap (my water is usually 140ppm from the tap)

AFAIK identical results using 15ml PBPB and 5ml Cal/Mag with full RO at least in my setup.

I've also used cocos and aqua flakes.

Yield is always 1.8-2.2 lb per 1kw however if I had to guess I'd say the cocos tends to be slightly heavier and the PBPB more fragrant. To be fair my lowest yield has been 1.5 and my highest has been 2.5. I look to ball park around 2lbs with most strains as I find that shooting for more just leads to more popcorn or possibly mold.

Both work, both need to be dialed in.

Total cost is usually $180 per 2kw running ebb and flow and around $100-110 running hand fed DTW.

The PBPB and Cal/Mag ebb and flow style is my favorite overall when I put my time into consideration. Watering plants by hand is time consuming. Vs. the Aquas I'd go with the PBPB + Calmag against the cocos and hand watering or dtw, it's a toss up. Yield vs quality. I personally feel the potential for yield is there with either but the quality is better with PBPB + CalMag at least in my experience.

I also use Roots Excelurator for veg (usually 1-2 weeks) and for half of flowering. AN Big Bud followed by AN Overdrive, and AN Bud Candy. To be honest, I'm NOT an AN fan but I get the nutrients cheaper than other alternatives and they work. I've been experimenting with HG Multizen, Drip Clean, and Aptus Fasciliator but I'm not sure if they will make the cut as they need to contribute to the profit of the crop. Another thing I do is I reduce the nitrogen half way through flowering to varying degrees, sometimes I switch to GH Bloom. Another thing I do is reduce overall ppms so 3 weeks out it looks something like 750, 500, 0.

With hand watering, I flush everything 6th or 7th day so just pH 6.2 water on that day. Come 3 weeks out I do the same 750 3 weeks out, 500 2 weeks out, and 250 for a watering or two, a single plain watering, and harvest the plants are drying out. I find that this allows the plants to really get a good flush and they're slightly dry which makes for easier trimming. This is the best way to get premium quality at least in my garden. I'd still give it the PBPB an edge overall. This is cheaper and possibly the best yield. Coco just really shines DTW seemingly regardless of watering frequency and pot size, I just keep it wet and allow for some run off.
