Yup your bio-buckets are really kickin :plant grow: Branfreeze has been known to make baseball bat kolas. My run got cut short. The 2 that I did complete got to finish but I only topped 1 time to take clones and they were only about a foot tall when I put them in flower. Each plant made two baseball bats. Pic's got deleted with my old account :shucks:

Your plants look very healthy, CM! Good move cutting back the EC, as many report that the plants transpire much less after defoliation and can show signs of overnuting. I try to wait until the stretch is finished before plucking fan leafs. Some say you will hurt the yield if you pluck during the stretch. But plucking earlier can help to keep them shorter. Others claim that it depends on the strain. Dunno who is right, but when space is tight without much light penetration, it's got to help to get those big fan leafs out of there.

galahad- im looking forward to seeing some baseball bats develop. too bad about your runs and pics. i would've liked to seen them. thanks for the compliment, i am just blown away by bio-buckets. i never had plants thrive so well with almost no effort. i almost feel 'lazy'. its nice when you get really busy and feel like your neglecting your grow, to find out all is well and thriving without your constant attention to feed levels, ph, water levels, and such

pete- how are you? ya, im trying my best to control these girls. i am bending and tying them daily. i did screw up by not flipping sooner, but oh well. now i know. i've been growing indoor/outdoor for many years. my dwc runs, i got pretty much figured out, but this grows much, much faster.

i still haven't put in my hps, trying to control stretch. i think they should be about done stretching, so i'll put the hps in soon. then we'll see some real flower production.

so, thanks for keeping up with this run, good to have all you guys around. i will update again soon.

I am in AZ, bio buckets don't work here.
I have to colonize my system by hand and use RO water.
It sucks cuz I don't get the same results as in the midwest.
They still do ok, just a little more involvement from me.

just thought i'd put some pics up. moving right along, bending and tying pretty much daily. i give a lot of credit to Duthgrown genetics, these girls are taking a beating and not even a hiccup. im trying to be gentle, but i hear the occasional snap. but they never even showed one limp leaf, not even for a minute. not the best pics, but here they are:

thanks for stopping by,

thanks for all the compliments guys!! good to see you abellguy! Galahad, i sure hope you're right!! hey unc, i think your right they are going to eat my light!! and dgs genetics sure do take a spakin'!! they already are hitting the glass. in all honesty, i really screwed up this grow. i let them veg way, way too long. no excuses but, i didn't know how much they stretch or how fast this new(to me) bio-bucket system grows. everyday i have been trying to bend branches to keep a little distance from the light. im pretty sure that all this late training is going to affect yield. yield is not that important for me, mostly taste and effect is what i like. oh well, if we didn't learn with each grow, this would get boring. but, NEXT run is going to be friggin' awesome!! i guarantee it!! hopefully:rtfo:
i've put the hps lamp in, but i've had to dial down to 750w because the colas are hitting the light. trying to keep it cool enough to not burn them. i think my ventilation is good though. i measure inside temps right at the canopy top and so far im within 2* over ambient, around 80*f. hopefully that'll work.
starting to think of next round in here, not sure what i'll run next. i've got a nice ak47 X BB mom thats done well for me in the past. or a blue sat 2.2 (boo freebies, thanks) thats looking nice and compact. also just sprouted a mosca c99 bx1 4 days ago, smallest little sprout i've ever seen, not sure if it'll be ready for cuts by then. i doubt it. im going to hold off on trying chimera's highland mex x BB, cuz i think thats going to be huge. not sure, ive got other seeds too.

wow, that was alot of typing for me,

thanks again guys,

cm

ya may have to do some pruning

ya, i do prune already. every time i bend them, just about.

i see a little foxtailing happening on the buds that are almost touching the glass. i've been able to bend most farther from the glass. only a couple of buds seem to be affected by the light/heat. more for the hash pile. win/win, i guess. now i can't wait for next round, to do it right. can't get ahead of myself though, these girls need daily attention. the smell is now reaking of citrusy, grapefruity, skunky goodness!! my chick, who says they all smell like skunky pot, even says shes smells citrus mostly. sounds good to me!

bio buckets are rdwc.
i run all kinds of them.
they are nearly the best way to grow imho.
everything is relative though.

yeah i grow traditional RDWC at present using no airstones with waterfall for DO im looking at changin to bios for the bennifical bacteria side, and vert bulbs, thats why i asked i run bennificial tea for immunity at present but lava rock way seems better more efficiant

sqydro- all i can tell you is that bio is the best, easiest, most efficient, and simple system that I have ever tried. those bennies make your plants uptake nutes very efficiently (im running under 1.0 ec) and protect them from grower stupidity. all i can tell you is to follow the precise parameters of bio-buckets closely and you'll be impressed, im sure.
been real busy working again, but have time today and will update with some pics later...

sounds really cool. you should check out KryptKeepa's thread in the vert section. he's got a bio- vert run going. it looks great too. keep us posted on what your going to do.

so heres some of the latest pics. im seeing a little tip burning, so i've cut back nutes to .8ec. the burned tips is most likely a response to the torture of bending and tying and pruning so much. but they keep on keepin' on. the girls finally stopped stretching and are concentrating on flowers now.

in a couple of spots, i can see the foxtailing from being too close to the light

its not too bad though, i can live with it. sometimes if they're not too crispy, i like to roll just a foxtail into a joint. nice and easy. even so,i figure more to make bubble with. btw- hows the bubble from this variety?? FMCD?? i hope so!!

heres the top of the canopy, i think i did ok at keeping them from eating my light!

all in all, things are doing well. i cant wait to try these out. i got an early taster of my bro's this weekend. not cured, but pretty well dried. its tasting pretty nice already, a little green but the true citrusy flavors are starting to come forward.
so thanks for the compliments everybody!! we'll talk to you guys soon,
