hiya, seems you have ruled out nutrient od and any ph and soil issues, so must be the intensity of the sun on very young plants as you state , good luck, peace and regards 944s2

BickeyB, when you buy the soil by the yard, does it come in one large bag lifted with a fork lift or something?

Do you remember what it cost?

Thats a good idea to make bulk soil available like that.

Also, whats the deal with that copper looking thing around the base of the plant?

it came in a dump truck at 140$ a yard
the copper tape is to keep snails and slugs away

I know this thread is a little old but I can tell you for sure what is happening with those leaves/plants of yours.

I know for sure that the reason you're getting this leaf droop/curl is due to your soil not being "airy" enough. The best way to amend the problem is by adding coco 2:1 to the soil. It will fluff it up. I know this because I've had the same problem and if your roots don't get enough oxygen this is what happens. Add coco and perlite so that you get your soil fluffier. Usually outdoor won't have this happen because the micro-organisms provide enough oxygen to the roots. I wouldn't be surprised if time fixed the o.p.'s problem with the leaf curl. If it was over fert issue the leaves would be dark green also which they ain't. Anyway, this was a mystery to me for a while until I started adding lots of coco and perlite to my soil now problem is gone. Lemon skunk likes to do this with its leaves if the roots ain't getting enough oxygen also.
