did you go back to horizontal? i haven't seen a vert bulb in this entire thread....wtf? lol. things are going good with the vert so far. remember that room design i had for 4 bookshelves and 4 bulbs running on a flip box? well, i built it, but i still only have the 2 bulbs running. waiting to fill the other 2 racks i built before i toss in the other 2 bulbs. have some blue dream and yo mama cuts rooting atm, so it shouldn't be too long before i have 3 of the 4 racks running. then i should be taking another round of cuts in about a week, but we'll see how it plays out...i feel ya on staying in the a/c. it's hotter than a dogs ass in heat down here.

I only like using the two 600s I have for vert, one 1K isn't enough unless I make the tent smaller and 2 1Ks is too much unless I make it bigger. And right now I'm only using 1Ks so I can see how these new Ushio's stack up.

You running two 1Ks or two 6's? Sounds like things are rolling for ya man. Blue Dream is a nice cut to crop with. Haven't seen much Yo Mama but I'm pretty sure it's from Bodhi so it's likely good stuff.

when i finish filling the room up i'll have 2 stacks of 1ks but only running 1k on each side at a time. 2k total running at any given time but 4 bulbs being flipped so i can keep all 4 racks lit up. both sides will have 1 hps and 1 mh conversion bulb. while 1 stack is burning the hps the other will be burning the mh's. should be some fun shit when i have 72 flowering plants going lol. right now i only have 38 going in there, but it'll fill up soon enough .

the bd looks like it's gonna fill in nicely in these racks. the yo mama is from bodhi and it looks like it'll work well too so far. only time will tell though. on a side note, i have a cut of wonder woman, dt7, pineapple express, and matanuska thunderfuck heading this way too. i'm hoping 1 of these days i can get a cut of an ecsd and a girl scout cookie to try out, but i'm not worried cuz i'm sure i can get em at some point. i'm kinda strain hunting atm to see what would work the best with these racks. the good thing is if they don't do well in the racks, i still have floor space in between the stacks to flower some moms out.

things were getting shitty in these parts for a few months, otherwise i'd be sailing right now, but it's all going to work out. right now i'm still in the baby steps mode, but it's still heading in the right direction. just need some odds and ends to be where i want it.

i hear ya on the space issues. kinda sucks to have equipment laying around that could be producing...i do have a pretty simple solution/suggestion for it, buy a bigger fucking tent lol. been enjoying the nuggetry in this thread btw. it all looks sooooo yummy. hope ya had a good holiday w/e man. stay high and safe bro.

i have had really good luck with the Ushio 600w MH in veg. i think you will like them.

Rasp, I've used 1k ushio's bulbs the past 2-3 years and find they work just as good and maybe better than the horitlux's I use to buy. The only reason I switch brands was because when I got new lumatek's I was still using the horti's and my hydro guy said not to because they'll fuck the bulbs up, luckily I never had an issue and ran them side by side and to be honest I thought the ushio outperformed hortilux and I never stopped using them, gotta love the German's.

Polluted, there's more than one tent in the room so making one bigger isn't an option unless I got rid of one. I prefer smaller, individual gardens over one big room full of plants and lights so I sacrificed a little bit of floor space for organization. Maybe it's gardener's OCD but it keeps things neater and it leaves me at least 1 spot to chuck some pollen without potentially tagging up an entire room. And thanks dude, I had a great weekend. Hope yours was the same.

Phil, good looks on the info. I've been thinking about getting a HID for veg but I still like T5s. But the 8 bulb is definitely pumping out some heat, I can't imagine an air-cooled 400w MH being much hotter but the mixed spectrum bulb arrangement is a nice touch.

Otto, nice to know. They're certainly cheaper. I've heard good things about them so I had to take a chance considering I know horti's well enough by now. So far I've noticed it fires up almost instantly and has a distinctly different orange hue to it than the Horti. The Horti seems more yellowish-orange, the Ushio is orange. I'll have to do some reading to see what, if anything, that might mean.

Got some new flavors to play with. OG Kush, Valley OG and ADubb. (Muchas gracias!) I'm hoping I can get a snip or two off them ASAP, then I might be able to toss them right into flowering. If not it's straight into the veg factory until July.

Just about ready to flip everything else. Gonna let the ladies stretch out a bit in their new digs before I hit the switch. Here's the line-up...

Super Skunk smells like musky grapefruit with a subtle hash bottom. Found it in some Sensi seed a couple summers ago. Great smoke.

Head Trip is some of Bodhi's work. Here's his write-up on it...

The infamous katsu cut of dutch flowers chocolate trip makes the love connection with my proven super lover afgooey (maui haze x afghani) x blockhead male (snowlotus male). This is a new line that is currently in testing.

Characteristics: huge earthy cocoa mind body liberation

One thing I can say about them so far is they're uniform as hell. Only popped 5 seed but they look nearly identical. Light feeders, too. Been real easy to grow so far. Stacking real tight. The lack of side branching makes for good SOG candidates but with not wanting to top from seed it made cloning a real PITA.

Variety is where it's at for me, GG. Variety... balance. Very important. In all things, not just what's in the jar. Avoiding ruts. Embrace change, even though it doesn't give two shits about your acceptance of it or not. But I don't do it to make change happy. I do it to make change easier on myself. Because change will come. Just a matter if you're gonna bend or break when it does.

I don't believe in grail plants though I'll always keep looking. What else ya gonna do? Grail lines, maybe. Pools of genetics that reflect your personal tastes. For some that means making seed constantly, for others it means maintaining a handful of clone only's. Or doing both. The latter is certainly my preference. But whatever gets the job done.

ADubb is Sour Dubble x A-Dawg Ether (r). Not sure if that was one we were talking about or not. Hard to keep track. Still got those Alien Abduction beans to pop. I need to spend some time soon making an inventory of what I have, how old it is and how many there are. It's time I start putting a serious dent in the collection.
