Decided to go with happy frog/worm casting mx instead of the ocean forest/perlite mix instead. Threw the ladies under the 1000W MH where they will spend the next 3 weeks or so before thu go out. Hoping the MH will promote more vigorous growth than the t5's would to stengthen them up.

I always start with T5 but then switch to a 400 or 600 hps to help them get ready for the direct sunlight they are going to get when u put them out, in the past Ive noticed my plants diffident like going from T5 to outside, HPS makes them tough...

Yeahh, i love using t5's for veg but atthe moment i have a spare 4x4 tent and 1000W mh so i figured might as well fire it up! Plus new england weather can be a little unpredictable so a little strength to them wont hurt.

You think? I've never really messed with outdoor's seriously. Only reason why I was thinking 10 was because they are still in solo cups now about 3 nodes or so tall... And I'm located in the north east so I plan on harvesting most likely late september...
I haven't bought the pots yet so I can sure upgrade them if you think it would be a good Idea.

when you use smart pots the roots cannot get root bound. thats the magic in the design of the smart pot. the roots are are trimmed by the aerated fabric and kept from spin out. you can grow monsters in 10 gal smart pots, but these guys are right. i don't think i would go as big as 50-100gal though. for 5 ps you'll need 8 zips a plant. thats more than doable in a 30 gal smart pot at the most. i did half p outdoor plants in 15-20 gal smart pots all day for my 2010 outdoor, but that's out here in California. I'm also sure someone has done half a p in a 10gal smart pot. Anyways i'm just trying to save you some money and extra work. smart pots get more expensive the bigger in size you go, not to mention the cost of soil if you're buying it.

Ya, thanks for the info i didn't know that they couldnt get root bound. I ended up getting the 20 gal. Using a happy frog/worm castings mix... Hopefully will haul all the soil out monday night so ill have some new pics then. Really excited for this grow... Hope all goes well! Looking like there is goin to be a few new strains in the mix if all goes well..... MBS and Z99....

yea 20 might work...i cant tell how big that spot is. at first i was thinkin you should throw them into 45s and go for a pound a plant, it would be super easy. but then i saw that a bank is kind of close by lol...thats real deal guerilla growing!....10 1lb trees are gonna stink up quick..

the bigger the rootmass the more yield...also outdoor plants suck up a ton of water, moreso than indoors, so when using a smaller pot like 20 gal you will have to water more.

i would treat your plants with BT too...if you see any moths flying around, those things will lay eggs and the caterpillers will wreck havoc...

It's not all that big and it is guerrilla for real! Haha. Pretty risky spot actually but I'm not left with much options in my area so I make due with what I can and just hope for the best!
I already bought the 20gal. pot's so I'm going to run those... Im left with a somewhat "shorter" season so I think they should be all set. For watering I "T'ed 2 30 gal plastic camped trash can's together and set those up with my Blumat Maxi's. Hoping 2 full can's should last me close to 2 week's without rain. Either way I will be out there at the minimum once a week to check on things. Hope you keep following! :tiphat:

Just got my Blumat Maxi's in the mail! Pretty pumped for these... Unfortunatley the didn't send me any of the tubing or thru-hull connector like you get with the smaller ones. Just sent these loosely in a envelope.... Bastards :dunno: B

Now things are getting a lot closer to kicking off! Got 5 of the 20gal smarties out there only 5 more to go. didn't fill them all the way because I ran out of worm castings and didn't want to have to dig all the way to the bottom of the pot to mix them in... but you get the idea! Transplant will be on June 1st.....stay tunedd
