Those aren't ears, they're WINGS!

like radar dishes too, she doesn't miss a thing and although she doesn't have a mean bone in her body she gets up and barks w/fury when she hears something close by.

It's official, we're all 'goin' for a ride!!!'. My girls are all jacked up now, if we hit the right drive through there's a biscuit or two to be had. Alice knows which drive-thrus are bisky stops & she barks @ the window until she gets hers, all the clerks know her by name, Scooby sits silently hoping, quite polite.

I'm getting nudged hard, see ya later.......

I can't say those words out loud in front of Hazel. Nor can I invite people into the house by saying, "Come in."

All the delivery guys have trained her very well to bark and wait for her treat. The PG&E meter readers, too. Everything stops for a biscuit!

and I've made a mistake in letting anyone think that Scooby actually sits patiently for biscuits, she only behaves that way in going through drive-thrus as she's sitting in her kennel in the rear of my Explorer, if not I'm sure she would launch through right the window to get to hers first.

at home she's maniacal about food, she thinks about it day n' night, again as mentioned in an earlier post she might have been underfed or had food competition issues, Scooby is always ambitiously looking to me for food or biscuits.

...however she's very polite @ home when I'm giving her & Alice small biscuits alternately, she knows it's Alices turn as I slowly (yeah I'm testing her) pass the biscuit in front of her on its way to Alice, Scooby wasn't like that to begin with but in her desire to please & conform she caught on very quickly. I also like to make sure she's getting the last biscuit just in case it makes her feel any more complete.

hot day so I blasted the a/c in the car, we all went for a ride to Bemidji. While there I bought some hardware, springs and a thick rope dog tug toy, I don't want to play tug of war with Scooby setting up a winner/loser situation between us so I'm bolting up the hardware on the ceiling so she can tug & dangle from it all she wants.

yep, saw that a few days ago, great story all things considered and so glad the dog lived. the lady is a drunk & the dog was given to her to protect her, I'm sure that despite her shortcomings the two of them share a tight bond. this may sober her up some.

I was just surprised a bit myself, I was scolding my old gal Alice (incessant licking) and Scooby jumped down off the couch and got in front of Alice just looking up @ me, I took it as a sign to just shut up and walk away, let Scooby think she rescued Alice, it was sweet to see the bond.

I reckon you done lucky with Scooby , it`s looks like you have one bright dog there & the reason you are seeing it is because Scooby wants you to . Every now & then a dog comes along that shows us just how clever we ain`t & they are .

Where is she licking? Licking the genital area more than usual can be a sign of infection, licking paws and objects is pretty much boredom/ocd and licking lips a lot is anxiety/calming signal

licking her paws as usual.......

Get her a kong, mix 50/50 natural yoghurt with peanut butter and add some kibbles(or make croutons if you don't feed kibble), then stuff the kong with your mixture and freeze it. When she starts licking, re-direct her attention for a moment with a game, then give her the kong. The yoghurt counteracts the peanut butters laxative effects.
I'm pretty sure you can get a lotion that you put on their paws to stop them licking-it tastes bad.

if you don't want to link out from this site then just copy/paste the url, once you get the hang of using their site you can spend hours looking for a new companion or just looking.

cats & dogs are listed here by breed, age, gender and your zip code. you can select animals from Humane Society type of shelters or as I did by looking to Breed Rescue groups (each group specific to a dog breed or type), if you followed this thread you'd see that I went from Beagle to Bull Terrier.

These breed rescue groups take animals from kill shelters and foster them in homes amongst their volunteers, by adopting from a breed rescue group you are making room for them to select another dog from a kill shelter; you are in essence doing the same thing but having the advantage to know how each dog behaves in home situations.

When I adopted Scooby they said she ignores cats, when I met her @ a minneapolis pet center we walked right by a cat on the street and Scooby just glanced at it and kept going, they claimed she got along very well with other dogs, my old gal Alice is now her very best friend; Scooby invariably prefers the couch or bed (& my pillows) but if Alice is on the floor then Scooby's right beside her.......

I opened a fresh 10 pound box of dog biscuits tonight, the smell of the newly opened box is driving Scooby Doo crazy, she's had 2 already which is one over her limit but she's trying her best to con me out of more.

I can't imagine anyone turning a dog like this loose in the streets, she must have escaped her home and wandered around lost in Minneapolis, so much love and kindness in her heart. She's very animated, when I mention biscuits she makes bounding leaps from the floor to the couch and back again, she's so full of confidence now.

Her ears seriously crack me up. It looks like someone is always holding a fan, just out of the frame, blowing them back like she's a supermodel.

Scooby just loves everyone and kills 'em with kindness, she treats everyone as if they were family; she gets all wiggle butted when folks/strangers walk over smiling and bending down to greet her. supermodel? don't wanna give her a big head now.......
