A World On A String

hey friend, did you ever end up starting any of those beans? i ran through 50 of the killing machines and found some nice one, all had a strong grapey berry chemical smell. definitely suggest popping a few if you have any room, the bubble they made is some of the tastiest i have puffed.

What you see in the thread is what I'm growing

My veg room has The Fuck Show (Hell Hound X Bubba G) unsexed plants growing in it. I'll select 3 females to be run in my OD pit...in containers...for summer.

After the Hell Hound (Odessa moms version) finish up in the flower studio....I will be shutting it down for a few months. I won't be flowering again...in there...until fall.

When fall comes around...I'll most likely be working with my Salvation cross and looking at some gifted genetics. Mostly...I'm interested in growing my own work. Anything that comes into my garden gets directed into the pools I've created. Any test grow is a byproduct of that principle.

I'm selfish and honest...world on a string revolves around my concepts...there are no commercial interests.

#4 Selection I-HOP Highend

#4 Selection I-HOP Highend

Finding some time to manicure a few flowers. I didn't harvest this plant until this morning...didn't feel like it yesterday.

Don't see much of the Highend here...nope...not here. I'm not sure of exactly what I do have with this expression....other than a whore.

A grapefruit smelling plant...with large flowers...the kind of large flowers that end up losing a good deal of their initial harvest weight...when dry. The flowers are covered with stinky resin glands...gum up the scissors with little effort...and do not irritate the eyes when ruptured.

* Conceptually...source, prospect, blend, and sink the wells. Pump the wells....check for depth and grade. From one pool to another...sink wells...look it straight...as not to waste resources

Dueling Hell Hound batch mates day 32

Dueling Hell Hound batch mates day 32

Flushed the 2 girls out this morning...gave them each a full bath...then re-salted their coco with mix high in P. Entering that stage where the plants get hit with all they can take.

The girl on the left is Hell Hound selection #2....the one of heavenly aroma...even...if it smells like pole cat piss. She out reeks her sister by a long shot.

Her flowers are developing faster...there are features in their structure that remind me of Trainwreck(ish) expression...but then I also get a feeling...that they are something else.

Her flimsy stalked pollinated flower. I can see that the pollen took..and that this flower will yield me seed

A typical flower of the other expression (I didn't even # her...but from here out...she'll be #3)...showing a comparison in development. Nothing wrong here....just not as stanky as her #2 sis. *Not pollinated

I've got some interesting-expressional-beastie-sisters...to these...coming up...hungering...behind them. Going to be a gnarly run of the Hounds. Nice ass plants

Rolling joints of cured DTC99 F4 (Thai expression)

Rolling joints of cured DTC99 F4 (Thai expression)

This flower has been curing since last fall?...somewhere around there...from whenever I did the Odessa/DTC99 run.

Pretty mellow...almost sleepy kind high. A behind the scene high. It does not overpower.

Smells like spice, ginger, menthol lemon. Doesn't smell strongly until it is ground up....then the broken resin glands fume up...and can make your eyes burn when rolling it up. Distinct flavor.

has the consistency of a sticky hay...when ground and twisted into joints...you have to be careful not to roll too tight...because it has a tendency to over compress.

*I doubt you will see expression like this in a consumer driven marketplace. Totally a speciality item.

** This particular bud: I rate it as ok smoke. Doesn't have me reaching for the jar for more. Not enough kick to it. You can smoke it all day and never feel super stoned...sleepy you may feel.

Yesterday and Today

Yesterday and Today

yesterday...broke out a well cured nugget of Mantanuska Valley Thunderfuck X Grape Krush. Been in jars curing since last fall. Rolled a few joints for the day

The flavor is a musky grape berry. The high is mellow and sedative. It was a very pleasant post run/after sunset head. Kicked in well with endorphins...encouraging....yawns and heavy eyes. Nice enough nighttime herb.

today...working on a many month cured piece of the "runt" OG Jam plant...you may remember...flowered outdoor in the pit last summer

twangy citrus...maybe some fuel...the cure has really magnified flavor. The high is super stoney. It's not up or down...just a weighty stone...nothing really seems too important to you...after smoking a 1/3 of a bomber. Works for me. Gets a star.

Damn, that OG jam looks way sativa to me...I'd never tag it as a ''kush''. Or,my idea of what a kush is anyway. Was it flowering under the great halide in the sky that brought it out or is that just how this particular jam rolls?
I think I have a OG dom 'dental or two. Short, dark, wide leafed things that smell like lemons. I thought I'd smelled lemony plants before, but they smelled like sprite compared to these girls. My hands seriously smelled like I'd squeezed an actual lemon....tripped me out big time

Uniforms....targeted pollination onto #4

Uniforms....targeted pollination onto #4

It amuses me (even if slightly) the criss crossing of numbers...the focus to keep watching canopy expression...along with canopy change. The genetic lines...the #s used to label the individual plants in those runs of genetic lines...then the names of the lines...just to keep all that straight.

everything keeps repeating. everything is a residue.

So. So...I'll show you some uniformity. I'll show Hell Hound selections #5, #6, and #4 (left to right)

Much alike...the 3 of them are at day 24. I like the structure...so chose the most aggressive (#4) sister to partially pollinate. Not really any distinct reek...about the only thing I can find to knock them for.

A look at flower development and the post pollination solo shot of #4

* I have plenty of F1 Hell Hound beans. What..if any...expressions I miss on this run....can easily be done on another run. I do my best to hit every favorable expression representative.

If...however...there are several of the same phenotype....I'll pollinate only the best example. If you hit at least one of each expression...you end up with a sort of...open pollination. It's kind of a nice trick....especially if you do multiple runs....and have worked your cross from both sides of the sexes. Hunting grounds become wide open.

I honestly think of OG Kush as a sativa dominant hybrid. She did get mass amounts of sun....but still looked/smelled/tasted a lot like her indoor sisters. It's got a great high.

* If you feel like posting pix in the thread...go ahead.

Cleveland Sage 100+ day expression

Cleveland Sage 100+ day expression

This is todays tester. The plant was flowered mostly indoors...but was finished outdoor.

Tastes like a Blue line plant...not berry...but more to a musky floral. Well cured....smokes smooth...bit of a woody background.

Head is just too weak. I know I'm high...yet I keep waiting for the kick into revolution. It's not happening with this expression.

Really? I remember you uttering this view before..I can totally see it in yours and CBF's pics.Growth wise at least.
But the smoke? Most people report major stonyness, with a side of euphoria. Or is it,like, indica trichomes on a sativa frame?
Meh,I need to break away from the whole sat/indy,either/or dualism thing...it's just so damn ingrained. Hybrids are hybrids I guess.

Cool seeing the pitted CS again. The head on that one really sounds like my cup of tea, however mine will get 80 days MAX. Hoping it won't be super premature and racy.
I'll be away most of the summer and I don't trust anyone with my plants. Hoping for a window in it around 70-75,ideally. Gotta have all of em jarred up by mid-late June.

Mighty gracious of you, bro. I'll see what I can do camera wise over the weekend. Really wanna borrow my friend's DSLR to take some proper ones. They're looking really good now, especially the caseys,so I might just take you up on that. If only so you can tell me what I'm doing wrong:)

I have the day to fiddle in my veggie/fruit gardens. Landscaping and planting.

* The high from that Cleveland Sage flower....it's a good buzz. I'm not thinking it's worth a 100+ day venture though. I think you must always weigh in logistics.

Even in a veggie garden....stuff like corn, collards, melons, squash....all that stuff takes up a lot of space. If you are going to spend that much space/time on them...they must be something desirable.

**Some plants just don't work out for me. Doesn't make them bad plants.

I'm looking for orbit highs...introspective....reflective...trance inducing. I like a dreamy feel...a bit narcotic...yet not...lethargic. I want to be high. That simple.

Sativa/indica....yeah...I don't really follow any of those guidelines. I'm growing hybrids...and to me...hybrids become their own thing. The further I go along...the more I realize: what is in front of me...is all that really matters. There is nothing to figure out beyond that. Grow one...then grow another...it all comes back around

EDIT: due to lack of sleep, i type like a neanderthal! LOL

hey Pablos,
I really like this thread, and this has inspired me to one day try a chuck n run style breeding experiment.

Constantly adding fresh genes and working in, worked lines as well.

Unique idea kinda a lil more traditional in a sense. respect!

peace,

Shit,I'm envious,man...it's just becoming spring here, but right now it's snowing. No garden either, except the one in the spare bedroom of course  Just put down some climbing nasturtium of my own stock for the balcony though. I've been keeping seeds of the best looking ones for three years now, they get bigger each year...so there's that.

Yeah, feeling ya on the part about using ones own senses and preference/prejudice for what its worth.Deprogramming myself of others perceptions of what a ''worthy'' plant is.
Indica/Sativa, ''pure'' heirloom/poly-hybrid,fem/reg.,sacred/mundane...who gives a shit. What it all boils down to is enjoying the growing and even more so,the smoking. All else is idolatry. Non serviam....

Hey I,
Just had to reply to this. Your really on to something. In my mind, P's way is the way of the subsistence farmer. To trust in nature, evolution. Trust in the seed, trust in our plants, trust in our ability to select what is most adapted to our internal and external circumstances. Shit, that's how the OG weedfarmers of old did it. And they brought about haze, skunk,BB etc. The foundations of weeddom weren't built on finding a ''perfect clone'' and sitting on it. Its all in the seeds...

/rant:thank you:

The Change Up

The Change Up

At 1 o'clock I switched from smoking Cleveland Sage to smoking Blind Willy Chemical Haze. This stuff is made up of Wonder Haze, few Sour Diesels, and a lot of Chem D.

Y'all may remember....I grew this stuff before the I-HOP Highend run...so....maybe a little more than a month cure.

Why I wanted a change up:

#1 I kind of forgot about these jars and the grow...but man...it should be reasonably fair smoke.

#2. Was interested to see if the Blind Willy Chemical Haze would trump the high of the Cleveland Sage.

This bud has a tongue numbing effect...and has a mild citrus fuel flavor. Surely some more cure time will bring out even more flavor. At this time...like I said...it's mild compared to what these particular genetics have the ability to produce. Not bad at all....like the numbing effect.

The high easily enveloped the high of the Cleveland Sage. It's a much more potent flower. Puts you in a isolated train of thought...rather distant feeling....makes you have to focus on whatever task is at hand...or you may find yourself moving in a million different directions at once...or maybe worse...you may find yourself standing around staring at void.

Anyway....I'm done messing with gardens for the time being. In a few hours I'll be out covering non frost tolerant plants...shutting the gardens down for the night. Bunch of stuff was completed today.

* I fully encourage growers to take the plunge into the worlds of pollen and bean making.

** I warn them though....the world you will learn...takes its turns.

*** It's one hell of a ride...from clinching your teeth and clinging desperately to hang on...to....feeling the flowing transitions and letting go...giving over to course/confidence...self expression
