A World On A String

Invaluable info,P....lots to ponder. I see the OG jam in there for sure, the jam and the GK are the most prevalent phenos to my eyes. But,yeah,I'm down to four girls from ten seeds so all observations pending further runs.

Preliminary conclusions, very much subject to change:
-Won't stress out to much about ''making'' the Accidentals into something.
I'm not as desperate to get away from the blues either,so if my picks outta these beans turns into BB,then that was what I wanted all along,at some level. All the versions of Acc. I've seen thus far fit into some of the other concepts I've formulated for myself,so for the time being they'll be my genetic wild cards. I have loads of beans of it,I'll just enjoy'em for now.

I'll keep you posted on the Satechisms, they're next up to be sprouted as the tents clear out...so june/july-ish they should be up and running.

Back in good graces with the machine

Back in good graces with the machine

Today was a pollination day...playing the busy bee.

Before and after partial pollination of Hell Hound selection #2

Yup...she's all fucked up structure wise. She is extremely flimsy...bit stretchy as well. One big mess of a hedge that smells like bubblegum, citrus, metallic funk.

If you recall...she was selected in veg...had some different/mutated leaves growing on her....basically just appealed to me.

* I do not care for the structure....getting a single limb separated to pollinate...and then to support a bag....was trying. Her aroma is her selling point though. Love the aroma....love the sticky flowers. I'll deal with her structural downsides for now.

** I can't be positive at this stage (day 28ish) but I believe she will turn out to be a "true" Hell Hound...and therefore...seems to have some OG Jam driving her expressions.

*** Locally...I have seen Hell Hound (Odessa moms version) grown out by a friend. They were not seeds from the same moms I'm using ...but the grow was well done with very nice results. His run...had a bunch of OG Jam dominates.

sorta a "pollen chuck" norris!

yo P,got all my seeds sorted from my first breeding run, looks like i got around 1000 beans in total:woohoo: i got a bunch of sorting and pinch testing to do!

uh,so how long do they need to dry before storage? how soon could i germ test some? how long does pollen stay viable?

It is a trip to toss pollen everywhere (seemingly all the time)...and watch what happens. It's sort of like a Blow Pop...to devolve...to dissolve candy layers down to a core sweet. You may even think there is some sense of enlightenment down there...or...whatever. Maybe it's a steep slide down into the mire of bullshit. Still...doing your own thing..and questing for new expression....is a worthy preoccupation.

It's work...no doubt. Takes some endurance....and some will...along with the logistical means.

*Harvested beans : I have no strict routine. Usually...dry the seeded flowers on a line...the line is in a cool/dry/dark space. Flowers may hang for more than a month...sometimes a couple months...before I get to them.

I then separate the seeds from the flowers, package in a labeled vacuum bag (I no longer suck the air out though....just seal them in the bag)...and place them in a tupperware container in the fridge.

I never have a reason to germ test. If they have dried for a month...most are going to pop. You can start germing some of them right off the vine...I've done that many times.

***In today's market we have become used to 10 beans per pack...and doing a standard "10 Bean Drop". I'm out of that commercial mentality. 10 is a low #....10 is a bit of a stifle. It's quite a liberating feeling...to toss seeds at will....without concern for cost.

I remember...pre-cracking beans...worrying about bean germinations etc....fuck all that nonsense. Fuck stressing on the nonsense. Beans are beans....we've been hoodwinked by consumerism to feel otherwise.

One of the reasons to make your own beans...is to go full circle agriculture and get away from the insanity of stressing over whether the things will sprout. Beans are about #s....and freedoms in germination. Guess you appreciate the heaven of it...only after you have experienced the hell of it.

*****HIGH AS HELL....I-HOP HIGHEND

Right on, brother! We've pontificated on this approach plenty, but it is a freeing feeling. I may not be as free-wheeling as you, more methodical in my breeding endeavors, but the end results are similar.
I've been running this Candy Chem cut this winter, and now it's time to let it go. I've found a few beans in my 1st run, nothing planned, probably hermie pollen from my Apollo Trip #1 - no biggie, I'll run it someday.
Lord knows I have more made beans of dozens of combos than I'd ever be able to test, but if I have a good feeling about a "mistake", I'll jump right in. Screw perpetuating the same 'ol thing. It's nice to have the building blocks in place to get back, but "going up-river" is pretty exciting too. Seeds are the fuel. Rock on! :headbange

Oh look, HL and P. Thinking of you boys today when I gathered my new short list of stuff to run together. Got the Honey White, Prune Juice and Prudence Highland at the top of the list. Maybe 15 other strains on the list too. Just going to inline the HW and trust my eye and instincts with the rest, Pablos style!

Man...it's good to see you LG. I was going to drop you a line...was wondering what happened to you.

Funny you mention Prune Juice...I swear this is true: I was just laying in bed in the predawn...listening to sounds...feeling the air for frost...and I was thinking about Prune Juice IX1. Thinking that I should work with that line further.

Prune Juice and Prudence Highland share the same mom (Prudence). When I made the crosses....I was planning a future parallel run of the two lines....whereupon...I'd blend them together. There is good stuff within those lines.....colors/flavor/ and head.

* I'll tell you what. I still have a bud of Prudence Highland (from last fall).....I'll twist one up for breakfast.

What I just rolled up

What I just rolled up

Smells like the Highland....many months it has cured....slap happy work high....sativa all the day long. Not super potent...just a nice ride for a morning gardening sesh

Prudence Highland= Querkle X TFlux Highland

TFlux Highland= TFlux X Highland Mex x BB

TFlux= Flo X Chem DD

EDIT: Upon entering the garden: smoked 1/2 a joint of the Prudence Highland. Normally a 1/2 joint of a lot of my stuff...has me totally fucked up during a wakey bakey. This stuff starts out way light....tastes like grape berry with an old skool sativa undertone....but after about 45 minutes the head really catches up with you.

I was doing some pruning and flushing of flowers....when I had about a 10 minute ride into questioning paranoia...right around the peak of the high. After that...the high eased into a floaty...thoughtful/introspective drift back down. All told...the high from the 1/2 joint lasted about 3hrs. No burn out at all...

Smoked the 2nd 1/2 of the joint....about the time the 1st 1/2 wore off...and kept a reasonable working high for another 1.5 hrs. Totally...a functioning kind of high...dealing with conversation and such...no issue. Sense of contentment...overall well being. These are the kinds of highs I seek.

Prudence looks tasty to me! I agree on making your own seeds pablo, although I still practice the keeping of moms. Just made my first cross the other day, when I pollinated a bunch of big sur holy bud moms with some Medjool herijuana pollen.

Yeah buddy....it's pretty nice mary jane. I did a decent job picking compatible genetics on that one. It would probably not have much value to your typical consumer...but for me....it's a pathway worth following. If someone wants to be floored....this is not for them...this stuff is about head trips.

I had always thought you were breeding away. Good to see you around...the genetics you have worked with interest me. Do you still mess with Congo at all?

Couple pix of the #6 selection I-HOP Highend...right around 60 days flower. She expresses her flowers in a club beater style format...some are more deformed looking than others.

There has been no signs of intersex on this example...no lack of sticky resin glands...no lack of strong rotten fruit funk with a twinge of something sour aroma....no lack of flowers either.

* Tomorrow night's moon...special big one. Planning a run...the glow should be intense.

I-HOP Highend Selection #1....manicured flowers...drying

Smoke of the day: Prudence Highland

The last of the I-HOP Highend flushing away the days....ages 60-70+....selections #4, #5, and #6....bad ass batch of plants

Selection #5....same flower structure as #4....younger and not as big

The twisting stems and flowers of selection #6

years have gone by....years of studio time...years of expression passing by....years of repetition...years of facing the chores...years of holding lines...years of dissecting the work of others...years of slipping into plant speed...years of focus...

I feel pretty good about what's been done. I do not claim anything other than that.

I still got some congo seeds lying around for when I get some outdoor space someday. I should clarify, this is the first cross I have gone about properly, in terms of amount of pollen collected. In the past, like the f13, I only used tiny amounts, which gave me only a few seeds. Not to mention male selection, amount of females pollinated, etc....

Good to see you are too though, will sub the thread and make sure to pop in from time to time and see how things are rolling along.

Hello Friends! My name is Selection #4 and I am....

.....a Whore. I am a total pig. Don't be nice to me. Don't trust me....I need to have routs down in the mud....I'm such a filthy hog

I-HOP Highend #4: She's at 70 days...partially pollinated for Salvation...big sticky flowers of grapefruit and funk. Been flushing for close to 3wks...I'm picking her tomorrow.

* This expression is a beastie.

** This expression is a "Twat-Tay" and has shown more than light intersex the whole way through flower. I picked at least 10 off her this morning.

*** I could keep pushing her...but I'm really tired of her. She is a belligerent plant...the way she is trained makes her difficult to move and fit into the stand of plants....I'm over working with her.
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
My plan is to lose my mind in The Fuck Show.....then with my nose to the stone (on conceded knees)....find my pathway into Salvation.

Looking over the small field of Hell Hound....(me) coming off the I-HOP Highend run....I get the sensation that...indeed...these plants will justify me making Salvation. Some paths are obvious and...really...very simple to understand. Other paths are not made so obvious...there is no compass reading to their holes. The willingness to commit to blind holes...at full speed...is absolute in my game. I have faith in no thing.

GET OUT UNDER THE MOON TONIGHT....see you in the canyon
