Had a similar ones - yellow, by 5.11 tactical. Wore it straight for 3 years now, nothings wrong withe them... there yellow - cant polish! And now look dark brown, cost 140 bucks back then.

Just picked up those grey ones for 100. Looks decent. Different company tho...

What kind of shoes/boots do you guys wear? :tiphat:

Zamberlan! They were made just for my feet, I swear to GOD. Three bills, but you can wear them to the grave.

Got my husband a pair the year before last, before I tore out my ACL and meniscus, for a planned hike up into the Palisades and the glacier south of us, and he LOVES them, absolutely loves them.

I used to roll leather until I got a pair of gortex Merrell. Light as a feather. They wear out like tennis shoes but only cost ~$75. Machine washable too.

I have the Sorel 'Joan of Arctic' boots (I love that name). I can slog through 2' drifts no problem, nice and toasty warm, dry tootsies.

But, I could also recommend the Baffin boots I looked at, too.

in most cases, its a far wiser choice to buy really expensive shoes

they last alot longer and you will save much money throughout your life compared to buying the cheapest shit.

its lot cheaper to be rich actually. (or someone who saves for things)

unfortunetly this does not go for me, my feet happily and easily kill any shoe.

I wear BOGS in the rainy season and sandals the rest of the time. I wore boots everyday for 13 years in the army. Boots will never be on my feet again.

Timberland for every day winter boots and serious hiking/hunting for climbing over deadfalls and rocks with less risk of turning an ankle.

US surplus Bunny boots (white only) for dead of winter warmth to -60F, I've worn them sitting in a deer stand all day and standing on the ice fishing in -35F for hours at a time and have had toasty warm feet. 100% rubber, 100% waterproof.

US surplus Mickey Mouse boots are the Bunny boots little cousin, lighter weight and in black they're good to -20F, rubber sealed top to bottom they're 100% water proof. Mickey Mouse boots used to come in camo but I haven't looked lately.

Any US surplus combat boot will be of the finest quality and longest lasting, same with UK surplus if there is such a thing Hubbleman.......
