whats that shit at the bottom of the water that looks like roots or sphagnum?

pubic hair, and lots of it.....

guess that makes me a ginger?

its coco mat, comes in 4X8 sheets....

i put the cubes on top and the roots grow right through the mat. the mat stays moist between flooding, keeps the roots moist, never lets them dry out...

want to top again, may do it tonight...

perfect scenario for a side by side experiment, any suggestions on what i should do?

Hey Krunch looking good. After seeing your pics I'm def convinced my gsc cut is the same as yours. Saw one a few days from harvest from the friend who gave it to me,looks bomb. From rubbing resin glands from leaves on my thumb and fore finger my fingers were almost completely stuck together. I'm rockin it outside this year!
For your side by side how about Canna vs House and Garden.
Hope you don't mind me posting pics in your grow along.

Damn! Good looking plants man. I've been wanting to start trying rock wool more and more lately. I'm pretty happy how everythings looking but I hate buying bags and bags of coco and having to bring them in the house all the time. I use the canna and the hng and I think I get better results with canna. With hng I always seem to get a cal/mag deficiency. With canna no probs it's just ALOT more expensive and The way the market around here is with everyone playing games and throwing out lowballs I hate spending unnecessary money on nutrients. Ever have any issues with root rot? One of my friends does the rock wool o. Top of coco mats and if he doesn't use h202 he will usually get some root rot. Those coco mats are expensive as hell too but everytime I use them the roots are banging out all over the place.

hng + cal mag is cheaper than cana
