Or it could be that a big part of cookies appeal is the smell and experienced people are debating how best to bring that smell out...or not.
Although I find it hard to believe that the bigger warehouse grows can afford to trim dry...but good on em if they do.

visited my bro down in the bay and bought some LA cookies. GSC x La Confy, He had 3 other pounds of regular GSC and i bought the LA because i thought it was better, had larger colas and the smell is deep pre98 bubba kush. We are working on a larger pollination of the same parents to spread far and wide.

imo fresh trimmed bud will not be lacking in smell if you had the right genetics and did the job right. it's true that during the drying process the smell gets less, but once the bud is dry and had time to cure a bit and let the chlorophyll get converted all the taste come back. when you let the whole plant dry with the leaves on you just get to the nice smelling part faster. but yes if you are trimming wet bud in one of those high powered trimmers you will definitely reduce the taste, smell and there by the over all quality. those things chop the leaves off and roll the buds in the juice that sprays off when the leaves are getting chopped to fine shreds. at the same time all the ripest trichomes get rubbed off on the inside of the machine. but a careful hand trim job on fresh bud should not be reducing your quality in any significant way. i have done dry trimming before and it really is a bit faster then fresh trimming, but the end product is never as beautiful as a fresh trimmed bud.

Looks like the real deal to me. She throws mostly 5 leaves at first but will start throwing 7 when she's healthy and big
Puma... hard to tell when they are sooo small. But possible. There are a ton of fakes going around. I received new wave labeled as cookie originally

Dry trimming imo is going to give a better look. The resin stay protected behind the leaves and only gets trimmed before smoking or selling.

dry trimming is the way to go. less hassle, less mess, easier to clean.
He will definitely find out during flower. It has some nice red stem structure, although I don't see any of the 3/4 leafer mutations found on Yes4Prop215 and OGKushbreath's cut. It could easily be that your cut was taken from higher up on someones plant - beyond the small mutation side leaf phase.
Either way you should have some ultra dank on your hands.

that LA cookie is some fire...the grower was calling it something funny like "venom kush" ...it is very bubba dominant in smell but has hints of GSC in the nug structure. my LVPK and most pre98 bubba i have seen are leafier but smell is similar....but she is all rock solid big colas. bubba/lvpk/lacon would be a solid backcross IMO because the smell is kinda similar to cookies...also it might stabilize her a bit because ive been hearing things lately about GSC throwing a few hermies on the lower branches if she is stressed..LVPK and LAcon have never hermied on me ever, very robust strains..

Flavor is pretty crazy, minty menthol and at the end I taste a hint of cookie, no chocolate at all(thin mints = chocolate?). One rip got me a good head change right now, kinda lazy high.
I gotta go back and give my buddy some beans I'll take some pics of his gsc nugs for everyone.
