Have they ever had to come to your house?

Okay so I've been thinking about this for a long time now, and something happened today that made me wonder, what would happen if the cops ever had to come to my house?

Like let's say you're minding your business like any other normal day and out of the blue someone tries to burglarize your home, lets say worst case scenario they got inside and you had to defend your home, if you shot them or killed them would it really be necessary for the cops to clear the entire home and could you deny their search of a specific room?

I'm just wondering because I live in a pretty bad place, and there were already a few incidents around my house, one where I actually saw the perp. Where I live there are still a few good people occupying the houses around me but I have a bad gut feeling the more they move out and pass on the more scum is going to move in and there's going to be even more to worry about. I felt maybe I could actually get some insight on someone who's already been in a similar situation.

If you felt that you or your families lives were in danger of being killed by someone and you did actually have to shoot the person weather just injuring them or killing them I am sure you would first be happy that you and your loved ones were still alive.

Weather you were 100% justified in your actions or not there is still an extensive investigation. Most but not all of the time you will be taken to jail initially and then possibly released on ROR or through bail. I would assume as the investigation continues your house is gonna be thoroughly searched because it is a crime scene.

On a gun site that I used to hang on a lot, most of the guys were in complete agreement that you should have about 20-30 thousand dollars set aside for attorneys fees and such to get yourself off. Very rarely is it gonna be that you just are let go with nothing. Even the police when shooting somebody don't get this treatment.

Then you have the whole MMJ and not being allowed to own a gun thing, I don't know how that would play into it and what types of precedents may have been set since the feds have declared this. So for somebody growing regardless of complete justification there may be bad consequences to pay.

I surely hope you never have to face this, stay safe and keep it green :rasta: one love

This is from FL speak but we always heard that if you shoot someone coming through your window make sure you pull them inside the house as your justification goes up considerably. Although having a grow that you are trying to conceal makes that a hard decision to make.

Maybe have a box truck on standby for if something like this happens. Order would be shoot first, then quickly remove everything to box truck and then away from home, then call police. Time of death my be an issue though :rasta:

might be a bit off topic, but this is probably the closest I'v come

I have this real good friend that used to come over a lot for a smoke ..if I wasn't home he used to let himself in ..sometimes if nipping out for an hour I would leave the front door unlocked( too relaxed ) ..or else he might slip a window I'd left on the latch and make himself a drink or whatever ...this friend was like family so no problem

anyway one christmas eve I was over at his yard smoking some really powerful white widow ..at the end of the night he dropped me home at about 2am to save me walking ..I was so stoned I just lay down on my bed and went straight to sleep without so much as a nightcap spliff ..like I say this particular ww was really strong

some time later around 4am ...in my dreams I could hear this weird tapping noise ..you know when you keep hearing a noise semi-concious and not sure if it's a dream or real but slowly waking up ..anyway I eventually realise the tapping noise is someone trying to open the window of my room from the outside ..about 2 ft from head

in my half asleep stoned state I automatically think my friend has come round even though its 4am lol ...and jump up to let him ..looks out the window and sees him bent over trying to bump the latch on my window...all I can see is his shaved head & the white jumper he is wearing, which is exactly the same colour as the jumper my friend was wearing ...so I don't even question if its him or not

as I'm standing there, the guy is still bent over & concentrating so much on what he's doing he still hasn't seen me at the window ..so very slowly and quietly I press my face/hands against the glass to distort my features ...and pull my best pouncing freddy kruger expression filling the entire window with my body and hold it there for almost a full minute before...

...the thief eventually stands upright ..his eyes are about 2 inches from mine with only glass separating ...he screams and attempts to involuntarily run backwards at high speed, but is thwarted by a small 2ft high hedge that's just behind him,

..falls over backwards smashing his head off the concrete but jumps back to his feet a split second later with blood pouring from his head ..concussed & shaking with fear ..stuttering & stammering about how his car had broken down, needed somewhere to shelter from the cold, and thought this place was empty etc

by this point im not smiling any longer, and a good bit bigger than he is ....pointed to my right fist and said 'do you want some of that' to which he shook his head ..I said 'so fuck off then' ..which he did sharpish

I lay down again after a few spliffs of ww to calm down & I had this weird stoned thought, that this was a modern day version of jesus, seeking shelter from the cold on xmas eve and I told him to 'fuck off..there was no room at this inn' ...couldn't get the thought out of my head, kept me awake the rest of the night ..or maybe that was the wwidow cos that was some potent shiz

ps
didn't bother calling the cops, thought the guy had been through enough

July 5th 2004 I lived in Everett WA and my home was invaded around 2:00am.

I heard the front door being kicked or something, went to investigate and watched about seven guys heading to the back door. I called 911 and grabbed my 3030. I told 911 I was armed and was then instructed to protect my wife by going to the hallway or bedroom and shut the door until the police show up. I did that but couldn't stand hearing people in my home. I opened the hall door and raised my rifle while yelling get the f out of my house. When the intruders knew I was armed they scattered.

The police caught four guys running down the street. They would not enter my home until the 911 dispatcher knew I put my weapon away. I had photographers taking pictures of damage, police taking statements from us and neighbors. The police where there until daylight.

The whole time I had a grow a few weeks from harvest in my bedroom. The police never looked past the spot in the hallway where we were told to stay.

I thought I was busted for sure. I was able to avoid further interviews at home and had the detective come to my work for further questions.

I moved back to Los Angeles later that year.

Thank you for all of the insightful replies guys! It really helped me to think about a lot. There were actually four different incidents with me, three of them occurred where thieves got into my garage there was nothing in there worth stealing any of the times, or nothing too important that I noticed it missing so that was minor but one of those experiences I had to share because toketronix I had a similar experience.

There was 'someone' that I knew as well that would open my window because I knew the person well enough (or so I thought), and he was a hard headed type so he didn't understand when I told him not to do it anyways. There was even one time in the morning, during the dark part of the morning, that I actually thought I was being robbed but it was the person I knew at my window trying to get my attention to get in.

In case you're wondering he lived close during the time so it was easy for him to make his way to my place without effort, make a long story short I think he set me up because one day I was in my room and I heard someone at my window, thinking it was him I go to open it I'm looking at this fuck that I've never seen before in my life, I know it had to be the dude that I thought I knew that set it up because he was the only one that knew that my window was the one to open to get to what he wanted which was probably my stash since I used to blaze with him.

I immediately went for the shotgun, not planning to use it but I was in fear that this guy actually had a gun on him, so in case he even had something pointed my way I'd have something pointed at him too, but by the time I grabbed it and came back he was gone.

That was about the most intense as it's ever gotten but like I said this place is getting pretty bad, there was even one time that there was so much gunshots around the corner people just stopped calling in reporting and they actually had cops sitting in the area waiting because of how frequent they were becoming. It's just a lot of crazy things going on around here so that's why I made the thread, not that anyone is targeting me or I'm in danger but I just had to know just in case because the way things are slowing becoming around here, can't really be too sure what these young fools are thinking. But at least now I know what to expect, guess I'll have to figure out something else besides defending my home with any guns.

That is a story and a half and a reminder to all that even no matter how up on your game you are. One and a million type things can happen and that you need to be up on knowing your rights and keep a calm head. Way to keep your head!!!! and thanks for sharing for the good of new members, a lot of people have a hard time sharing the tough times, but those are the one we need to hear about and keep in the back of our minds

{Then you have the whole MMJ and not being allowed to own a gun thing,}

wrong currently cant purchase a firearm through a gun store can from priviate person. only thing the gov done was say we cant buy from a gun shop or gun show. where i live only hand guns must be registered rifels and shotguns dont need registering
you should really look into your states laws on firearms and a MJ grow. i know some1 got pinched a mmj grower and LEO left all his firearms where they layed even his handgun which is registered.

like i said look into your states laws

my state also has a wonderful make my day law very techinical but ppl have shot n killed perps in there homes and havent been charged where i live.

Get some Big ass dogs, and put a sign out front that says this house is protected by smith and wesson. you'll be fine.

dont call police.. if you murder someone your fucked... unless you can get grow out first... other wise dont call police... if they showup with out a warrant politely smile and wave through the window and go about your day.

I had a problem like you are describing, I shot a home invader. He was able to make it out of my house but died a few minutes later near by. I only had a small closet grow at the time and was able to clean the place before the cops were notified. CSI will do a complete sweep of the house and property. I consider myself lucky.

Shit man, I don't know if I would have been able to do it. That's wild though, but once again I'd like to thank everyone, you've all given me a lot to think about. There's just so much to consider with this stuff, I don't know sometimes I feel like calling it quits, my will to continue always is stronger than my will to quit but man I really want to just shut it all down sometimes. I just hope and pray that I never have to deal with a situation like this or any other situation like a weather disaster or something that gets me in trouble, but that's way off topic. I'm just going to try and continue to keep people away from the house as much as possible and hope that's all I need to do to keep things cool.

u live in mexico along the US border?? LOL...

No why do you say that lol? All I can say is if you search "top 100 most dangerous cities", probably with the first result I live in one of the cities that's on the list, very close to the first one. That was a discreet answer, still not answering but just to let you know why I'm just a bit concerned about the crime I just have no experience with cops coming to my home with an 'operation' going on and I thought it might be a really wise idea to at least ask because I don't think there's anything worse than already being in a situation and being totally unprepared for anything about it. But I also have one other question, if someone who's living with you passes away naturally in the house, like as in no foul play, would they still have to be all in your house and going through things or what? In case you're wondering no I've never been in a home with anyone that passed away, naturally or foul play, if anyone can help me out with that question I promise no more questions about death lmfao :blowbubbles:

i walked in on three dudes trying to come through my dog door at 3am. roomate and her kid were asleep. dogs were freaking out but she ignored them. i walked right by the door and they didnt even see me, ran upstairs grabbed the pump and stuck it in their faces when i met them at the door. they did the scooby doo run, feet moving real fast but not getting anywhere lol. one of em stuck around to threaten me and throw rocks from the alley and he almost got a hornady .223 varmint express to the skull. after he said he had a pistol i broke out the mid range armament lol. he's lucky he left while i was upgrading weapons inside. i was prepared to pull the trigger and a part of me still wishes he would have been there when i got back. the cops were pretty cool even with me running up and down the alley with a pistol grip pump lol. there arent many worse feelings out there than the insecurities we felt the next couple months. makes me wanna dress up in a ninja suit and fight crime in the alleys :)

About 10-12 years ago I got a visit from two troopers around 1:30am.They said they came to investigate a 911 call placed from my residence...my wife was asleep and I know I didn't call. They knocked on my door first and I'm glad I answered...they asked if they could come in and talk.Naturally I said NO and spoke with them on the porch. They wouldn't leave until I woke my wife up so they could see she was ok...shining their flashlights on every ceramic flowerpot as they went away.

This is quite baffling to the day.

Just glad I was awake so they didn't kick my front door in...and they would have had the right to do it. It's just one of those weird situations that thankfully had no repercussions.

My only experience with the popo in my house was years ago. The kids were young and the babysitter was watching them. She had burned her hand while cooking them lunch and called 911.
One of the cops saw me working around the corner and stopped to tell me something was up at my house. I was only a couple minutes away from home.
When I got there the EMTs were in the living room, bandaging up the babysitter's hand and there were about 8 cops in the house. Guess they didnt have anything else to do that day.
Anyhow, those cops were in just about every room from the basement to the attic. I had to go from room to room and tell them to get the fuck out. The babysitter wasnt in any of those rooms and they didnt need to be in there.
One of the cops said something to the effect of "there's lots of nice things in this house". I told them I would be checking very carefully to make sure it was all still there after they left. Fuckers.
Luckily I had made the decision not to grow in the house when the kids were young and only had a few plants in the bushes in the back yard and they didnt see them . If there were any plants in the house they would have found them.
