Ok I see where u r comming from.
I heard that auto flowering plants do best with the lights 18 hours on & 6 hours off.
and as for the hairs I have seen a few brown hairs on my buds as young as 2 weeks flowering but they still end up growing nice sized buds anyway.
what is ur feeding schedule for the ladies?

and yah it would suck a big one to be color blind.

cheesebuds i just water them every day at least with a solution I make up once a week. I gave them grow/bloom feed from some company called ionic and throw in some liquid oxygen stuff aswell. First grow so its all new.

Higher Laws I think we have the same led! Haha. I should be cutting them down soon, drying and curing for another 2 weeks before I post up what I got from them so stay tunned!! Will also keep an eye on your thread and see how you get on.

Check the plants today and more orange hairs and amber thricromes to be seen. Soon I will cut down Hitler and Baby Jesus but alas, Jethrow is like 3 weeks behind the others! When he comes to be chopped down I will have cured H + BJ.

Week 8

So aye, still not enough amber to get me to cut these bad boys down. Heres how they are looking when I took some photos on friday. Since then I have given them another trim to removes unwanted leaves.

Week 9



So aye, have taken everyones advice and I'm waiting it out. Would say the count is over 20% amber now. Glad I started giving Hitler and Baby Jesus some water last wed. They should get 2 weeks of water before I cut em.

For the first time I noticed something about Jethrow. Hes stinks of blueberry more than the other two. Which is amazing.

I dun an fixed up my cab gheto style with some bits of wood and duct tape. Got an extra 2" for my efforts. Will just have to keep em at the height they are from now on.

Bought this on amazon for my next grow but due to discovering Jethrows stinking blueberry heritage I busted it open and Im now feeding jethrow on a new schedule. I would guess he has another 4+ weeks untill chop chop time and seeing as im new I thought I should learn as much as possible. This was the most expensive one I would pay for, and only pay for it because it was pointed out to me in the past by someone before I was growing. Will see how much better it is that the Liquid oxygen I have been using in conjunction with the Ionic Bloom feed.

Eh no scrubber as of yet. Defo need one asap tho. The way I see it this is just V1.1 of the growbox but the next step is a scrubber and some intake. Along with sealing up a gap at the front around the door.

As for the heat build up its there but minimal. A wee bit of noise for the fans that cool the back of the light but little heat. Even less heat comes from the front where the light is. Plants can touch that for a day and be alright so long as you notice.

Week 10 (A week late)



So I have called it time to cut down Baby Jesus and Hitler. For some reason I only took photos of Hitler before I chopped them.

Jethrow is still going strong. Still a few weeks off yet before hes ready to join his brothers in the glass jar.

I Just cut them above the soil level and hung them upside down for a day then began the trimming process. At the end I got some nice cutting skag stuff and will use it as a filler for my blunts.

Tomorrow I will post up week 11's update!! After a week of drying in that shoe box I cut all their stems off and scaled up how much I got. It is now curing in that glass jar at the end of the photos. Give it another 2 weeks of that and I will start to smoke it. Anybody care to guess at what a total beginner got from two plants?????????????

I'm pulling up a chair for this one as I'm very interested in those BlackStar 135w LED grow lights. I think I'll get a much better understanding of their potential since you are using only the UFO and not supplementing with other CFL/HID light.

I got mine through gotham hydroponics. Doing the ebay duel you mentioned and got it for the same price as a 90W one haha. Just a heads up if it leaves the USA you have to pay tax when it lands in your country. Got stung with that.

I didn't bother to weight it when it was wet. Just scaled it up after a week in the box. Since then I have kinda been tapping that jar for a few joints or seven. Really do like this smoke. I think the biggest bud I got was from Baby Jesus rocking in at just over 4g........Im happy as larry I dont care.

Will post the total dry weight later.

Week 11

Jethrow, Last man standing

Cause he wasn't as far on as the other two, he didnt flower early when a loan power cut came rampaging through. Hes letting me see the actual time it would take one of these plants to auto on their own. On the stains website it quotes 8 - 10 weeks from seed to harvest. (Bj + H were flowered after 4 weeks and then left for 6.) But thats for a normal light and I have read that LED's are alot slower than normal HPS, dont know about CFL's. Im assuming a 12 - 14 window by the looks of him. Now onto the harvest results.

35.7g of bud was collected in total. (After cropping, trimming, drying then de stemming and finanal scaling up)

So I got an ounce and a quarter for the first 2/3 of my harvest. I was aiming for an O in total for my first ever three plants so its looking like I could double my original target. Im hoping jethrow pulls through with his new nutrients and total command of the light now the other two have gone.

One thing that has struck me looking back on my grow, All you need is patience.

Went into water Jethrow today. Noticed something a little out of the ordinary........



See I had him out last night trimming some unwanted leaves and didnt notice anything. I think I could have just bruised him from rough handling as it has happened over 24 hours, its kinda out the blue.

Leaves are starting to dry up all over as the stems have stopped feeding them it seems. They are getting fed from the buds but at what cost!!! Basically Jethrow has until tomorrow to sort his shit out or hes getting the chop and wave 2 is unleashed. Its a shame as he still had at least 2 weeks left in him to fatten those buds up. WTF causes black stems? I will have to investigate this matter, tomorrow.

Still no idea whats wrong with him. Not made it home yet but spent ages reading up on it. I have seen stem rot and fungus infections that turn stems black, but i cannot find and example where the whole stem has turned. They all seem to focus on areas of the stem. Never 100% of stem. I saw stems turn this colour when I cut a bud from BJ one time and when I pressure bend one of his stems to try it out. This is confusing.
