Why is this website so slow?

For the past week the website has been very slow. This has never been the case. What's going on? It's been very annoying.

Slow as shit here too. I have to hit refresh on every page i try to open in a new tab or else it's just a blank white page. Same thing happens when i try to go to a 2nd or 3rd etc page of a thread. When i try to reply to a thread i have to copy the text because 9 out of 10 times the page "times out" after i hit reply and my text disappears. Pics just stay uploading until the page times out.

It's not my PC either because ICM is the only this site it's happening on.

It's often slow when you have unread PMs as it tries to sort thru them.

I hate to chime in like this but it's STILL very slow for me.
A buddy of mine lives about 20 miles away and he too has been having the same problem with the 'mag.
We both use FireFox and both use the same cable company. His internet speed is even faster than mine and yet neither one of us can log on or peruse the 'mag without having to reload the page a few times.
I've tried everything including deleting all my pms, and nothing helps.
It's real bad Skip.
It's like that no matter what time of the day/night I'm on.
It's slow no matter what I'm doing on the 'mag; logging in, answering a thread, modding a thread, etc.

I am using an iPad and icmag is always slow as hell. Pages with heaps of gifs or animated smiley thingys seem to be the worst, thought I have no trouble with any other sites gifs or not. No site chugs like icmag does.

i come thru TOR which is slow already, not to mention my very slow connection, but generally TOR changes my IP addy from the time i logon and before I can get to 'My IC'. I have to logon twice just see subscribed threads...

i won't even mention try to post... it's taking some of the fun away.

Yeah, been abnormally slow for about 3 to 4 weeks for me. No Unread PMs. Laptops or iPads. Firefox, Chrom, Terra or Safari. On my network or on any of the hundred or so networks (including T1s and T3s) I've been on in the past month..... TOR or straight connect....
Hands down this has been the slowest site that I frequent for the past few weeks.

Guess it's a transient problem in different areas. Here in NorCal the site is flying... but folks I know on the east coast say differently...Perhaps some internet companies are throttling their high-usage customers? I had heard that ATT does that.

I just ran speedtest and it says I have 21ms ping, 8.42 mbps download and 2.45 mbps upload and the site seems quite fast...no real delays at all.

Try speedtest.net and see what your internet provider is doing before complaining.
