GFI's Sweet 99

With March quickly approaching I probably have just enough time to squeeze in another seed run before the warmer temperatures force me to shut down a few tents. I have been stocking up on beans for a year or so and I have quite a few great strains waiting in the fridge, unfortunately when holding great strains comes the difficult decision of what to run next. After kicking it around for the last week I finally decided that for this run I going to grow out my own beans.

The beans were created by hitting a Mosca C99 BX1 female with a SOTF Sweet Tooth #4 male. The ones I'm going to run in this thread are from the c99 #5 x Swt4 #6 cross. The Cindy pheno leans toward the sativa side and has the strongest pineapple smell of the bunch. The Sweet Tooth 4 male I used had a strong grapefruit smell and was the most resinous of the males.

If you want to check out the parents you can look through this thread https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=222265 I did a pretty decent job of documenting the grow.

Giving credit where credit is due.......

Just want to say thanks to Sotf and Mosca for the great genetics and the words of wisdom they shared along the way. And a special thanks to Sotf for giving me the extra nudge I needed to get on with my first cross ever.

Now I know there isn't much to see here yet but that will change in the coming weeks, so with that said I present to you....

Sweet 99

10 beans, 10 Rapid Rooters, and 13 watts of blazing fluorescent light.

I'm here and I'm getting high already :smoke out:

Looking good GFI, and we know this is not your first rodeo so this should be plenty of fun as there is nothing I love more than a healthy garden with a loving grower tending to them. :good:

Just wondering, how long did the beans dry & cure for before planting?

Anyways, much love and :respect: and good karma to you and your precious little gems I already have a good feeling about these little salad toppers and based on what you said about the male & female used to make these it seems that you may have actually created what is shown in your avatar after all. :canabis:

Yea baby ... Dude you're gonna make me have to use my brain for a bit to figure that question out...lol.

Lets see... they were chopped on 1-14, I let the seeded bud hang for 10 days because my dehuey took a poop, the unseeded buds went into the brown grocery bags at day 7 and into the jars on day 10, which is 3 days longer then normal. I usually let the buds hang in the dryer for 5 days and then they spend 2 days in the brown bags before being put into the jars. So we're at 1-24, umm they dried for two weeks before I put them in the refrigerator, so now we're at 2-7. I pulled out 10 seeds and planted them on 2-22.

So 10 days drying in the bud, 2 weeks @ 72*/50%RH and 15 days @34* in the fridge.

What do ya think?

Peace
GFI

We will see here shortly right. :)

If any don't pop right away because they are too fresh I guess you can just plant more out of all those good looking beans you made huh :good: It sounds like ample time to me though I'm guessing they will be just fine. More importantly is them being fully mature on the parent before harvest that is of utmost importance. You had some nice big healthy plants and they were grown under nice bright lights with quality nutrition and water so all should be in order there by my estimates! :respect:

Ya gotta love seeds, and there is nothing better than making your own. It's almost better than growing your own buds in alot of ways because it is a bridge to being able to do so very long term even if for some reason you could not obtain more seeds from elsewhere.

Unfortunately some people I see around here DON'T want growers making their own seeds and want to control it much like Monsanto does with their GMO shit but as far as I am concerned that is half the equation to being a real greenthumb is being able to produce your own healtthy viable seeds. For eating of course! So tasty mmmhhhmm mmhhmm

Growers need to be self sufficient in that department in the long term I think, and with more seeds you can spread more love to others in need. Now that you have made your own, you can always do it again and trust me man the first beans you ever make are usually the best. ;)

Much love & keep it Grapefruity-Pineappley! :canabis:

:bump:

A little shameless bump! :)

Got 9 seedlings out of the rapid rooters this evening, 3 are standing proud and look dainty like the c99s did when they first came up. I potted all 10 into the 5.5" net baskets where they will remain for about a week before I transplant them into the new 9"x9" square baskets I'm using on a table of Ice Cream. So far the baskets are performing just as well as the smart pots minus the algae mess.

I'll most likely get some pics of them posted in a few days.

I chopped a Tsi Fly and a BogBubble last night and I'm chopping 2 Tsi Flys tonight so don't forget to slide over to that thread and see how they came out...

Peace
