Another Crappy Day in Paradise....Part Four

Love your grows man, been reading for a while. On Oahu here, what times of year are good for taking a plant outta a cabinet so it will stay in veg for a while? Whenever I do the plants go to flower and are confused by the lighting pattern.

I'm getting too old for this shit.... but not quite there yet.

The excavator was a great idea....if I wanted to build a road....and we'd have to, to get the damn thing into the gulch. Just what I need...a road to the plants....might as well pave it with yellow bricks and put a flashing neon sign up...take a pass.

And that brings us back to the old fashoned....yea, I can't spell worth shit.... way of doing things.

Yes...say it with me....

Shovel jumping....

What a party. A laugh a minute. A little blood, a lotta sweat.

If this was a normal winter at least it'll be cool and cloudy....but fuck no....we have hot and sunny. This island's gonna be screwed when summer comes....because it's already here. The houseplants should do great....just keep on the watering. I'm gonna take a chance and try some chunky strains this year. Stuff I wouldn't dream of growing in a wet year.

Planning for a dry year....forget about the cane. Too dry. Get to work without a net this year.

LSY....Here's your Brandi fix....Times two. Here's the one in the gulch....have to work around her....in ground she should get a bit taller than the rest.

And here's the rest on the deck. Notice nowhere is my keyboard. You know it's a shitty log when your grubby keyboard grabs comments....what can I say?

picture.php

So it looks like I'm the excavator. In the process of rebuilding or removing the retaining walls and backfilling the gulch trying to find big hidden spaces where I can stash a few trees. It'll take at least another couple of weeks to dig the new holes, the gulch still has plants in it so we gotta work around them. Looks like the gulch will go from eleven to five...maybe six.

I'm all for organic and all that stuff...but last week I scored a whole shitload of free fertilizer. I love free. I'm laying it on heavy, so the sooner the holes are done, the more time there is for them to cool off.

It's gonna take some time, but when I'm done it'll be cherry. Lots of new rockwork. Here's a small taste. Unveil the whole thing when it's done.

.

So life goes on. Haven't posted much because I got nothing.

Wait...thats not totally true. Since I got through Jack, the mom search is starting to improve. The last two waves shows promise....far better than the first two.

picture.php

Thanks to Grey we now have plenty of choice for the smaller plants that have to be taken early. The big trees?...I'm still working on that.

Chiro....When you put an indoor veged plant outside....Chances are very good (like 99%) the change in photoperiod will force the plant to go off. In late March for local strains, mid April for mainland strains do the whole trip outside. That's by far the easiest way.

Canni....you and me also.

Thanks man

Thanks man

Wow that looks like some hard ass work digging those holes, their huge so big plants can fit is what im thinking. Great job with the Brandi, i hope she goes as planned.

Are you planning on putting the others from the deck out in the ground or seed em up there? Been wanting to show ya what that NL 5bud looks like, but will see if my computer will post it or not. The speed and old computer has been a hit and miss thing lately.

To bad you couldn't put the veggie garden in the excavator tracks so it looks like you just made the garden bigger. But i dont know the lay out so who knows.

Not a boring thread, its only that there are no big ass monsters yet. This would be the foreplay to Part 5:dance013: I think its cool and learned a little something about making seeds.

Thanks again for the info bro:thank you:

Ah, I think I will let a plant reveg then and find it's own natural cycle here in Hawaii. Then hopefully I'll get a big ole yield!

Take it Easy....Don't let the sound of your own wheels make you crazy.

Take it Easy....Don't let the sound of your own wheels make you crazy.

Rumors of my demise have been greatly exagerated....again.

People...relax....vacation time...ever heard of it?

The days are slowly getting longer. With the winter that never was, it looks like spring is going to be early. The Jackaranda trees are flowering a good three weeks earlier than they did last year.

The lengthening days do a number on the plants from seed. Poor things don't know weather to shit or go blind. They almost go into stasis, they stall out... buds don't get much bigger. And soon they will start to elongate out of flower. This would be the time to plant regrows if I wanted to take that path.

Still have some scraps left in the garden. Nothing to write home about....The tops have been taken, and the rest will be soon as the seeds are ready. And as soon as they're pulled I can finish the garden and let that sit for awhile.

Grey let me get at his moms and the EZcloner is back at work. I have Headband, Skunkdog, An Alien Abduction ...once again... Who names this shit??? and a few others.

LSY's Brandi has been harvested. I still have one in the garden leftover. She has a chance of re-growing, but time will tell. Got seeds off of her so it's all good.

And I'm sure as hell am not on the mainland...it's cold there.

Just this log is winding down and I haven't got to the point where I should take it outside and put it down...yet...but honestly...I got nothing.

And with a wimper...this party's over.

In a month or so...we'll do it all over again...until then...the vacation continues.

dont forget the chemd and valley og too man!
jeez hahaha

hey man no work tomorrow
if you wanna burn one or three hit me up

lol@plant names

Skunkdog, An Alien Abduction ...once again... Who names this shit???
Kids. Those are better names than some, though.

Disrespectful strain names get no honorable mention, in my book. Hard to improve cannabis' image, when you foolishly name the meds Donkey Dick or Blue God. What kind of moron does that? And it's really stupid to spend years developing a strain, and name it something nobody is inspired to even try, let alone purchase.

Oh well...nobody is forcing us to buy 'em.

Keep your eyes on the road, your hands upon the wheel.

Keep your eyes on the road, your hands upon the wheel.

Time to take this log outback and put her down...

Vacation is over.

Short season is almost done. It's about time too. The days are getting longer to the tune of a couple of minutes each day. We're looking at 11 hours 45 minutes of daylight today. Eleven hours 47 minutes tomorrow. In a week we should hit 12 and 12.

Nothing left but scraps out in the garden.

Once they are gone I can turn over the occupied holes and move on to Part Five.

Total take for the two harvests is in the three pound range. Off of thirty four plants. Most has yet to be trimmed down. These I'll let hang for a couple more weeks and put a good cure on 'em.

I'm going to try to get Brandi to regrow. See if she can be carried over to Long Season and the next chapter in this never ending clusterfuck.

picture.php

The last few weeks have been dry here. Rain has fallen at both ends of the island chain, but here in the middle...not very much at all.

And with that... say goodnite Gracie...

Hope to see you all in the next chapter.

Smack me down if you've covered this, but I don't remember seeing it...
You mentioned the turning the occupied holes over, but do you add anything back into the soil for the next round, or just push the soil around with the backhoe? Just curious about your site prep for re-using the garden soil. (flushing, ammending, incantations, praying...)

Hold your water Rusty. No need to smack anyone down.... I'm saving all that crap for the next installment. Vacation consisted of lots of shoveljumpin'....The garden has been reworked, redesigned, redone, repaired....did I miss any re words?

The backhoe never happened. Couldn't get it into the gulch without tearing the shit out of the plants' cover. Also we would have left a path from the road directly to the gulch. Couldn't let that to happen....

This log is history. The next is beginning...soon...
