Just picked up a 12 site system.

hydroton is washed

gonna use lucas formula with hard water micro @ 600 ppms
pool shock is also being used ala Herborizer's formula (thank you!)

3-4 15 min floods daily, not sure tho opinions welcome

the add on buckets are cheap gonna expand if this works out.

anyone who uses this system, lets hear about it,or bucket users in general!

I'm going to be doing an Ebb and gro in March, its one of the few hydro systems I hav not used. Which brand did you buy? I have never bought a system before always built my own, but I am buying one this time.

Sup Bro....ran DIY ebb and flow buckets for over 5 yrs so holler if I can help.....

Mine were 5 gal buckets that got fed/drained out the sides and held lil residual juice in the bottoms in case of power failures ,but the new setups drain out the bottoms these days huh ?.......

I fed 3 times a day but I had lot more medium than the smaller retail units so maybe 4 times for yours ta start out with Bro....never fed lights out but I see folks that do.....

I preferred to let em dry out between feeds and build max rootmass , but I used lavarocks left over from my krusty bucket days and they did well....never run the lil clay balls so don`t know how frequently they need fed , but 4 times a day`s a good start....

Watch your waterfarms to make sure nutrient solution doesn`t concentrate as the plants eat /drink , or are they daisy chained and reciculating....anyways...

Good luck Cyat....DHF.....:ying:....

I run 6000w. under them lights I have 36 ebb n grow buckets going to be 48 next run. I like to flood every 4 hrs lights on, and once lights out. I also really like to add insulation board under each individual bucket. I just took the board and cut squares got 36 squares per sheet, I also put about 2 in pieces of pvc inside the outer bucket so the inner bucket gets raised, this helps more water drain out of the hydroton, and keeps the roots (when plants are young) from sitting in stagnant water. I like to top feed my plants when they are first transplanted it helps reduce the stress but I go from aero cloner to the ebb buckets.

Good Luck holler if you need help

I almost forgot the biggest help with this system and improvements and health of my plants is adding ewc tea, if you have root issues I suggest brewing up some ewc tea. It could have saved me a couple thousand using it earlier. I tried physan 20, hygrozyme, dutch master gold zone, and hydrogen peroxide.

Everytime I steer somebody in the dialage direction just puts anuther feather in my karma cap Bro.......

Glad I could help Huge....now....

Cyat...get ta work.....whole lot easier ta run e & f buckets than rdwc....shit almost grows itself once dialed and hoonin....

Me...?....if I came outta retirement it`d be across the board everywhere with coco croutons/pith/fibers and chunky perlite with blumats , be they the biguns fer larger plants , or the reg sized cones for increased plant numbers....anyways.....

Peace...DHF...:ying:....

thanks for the advice guys..

Fred blumats interest me too, never tried em yet....I'm too tied down..need to automate stuff

instant improvement with hard water gh over dm grow. 1% cal instead of 4% with dm.

anyone think I should turn off the waterfarm with a coco clone it, at night?

has anyone ran ebb and flo with a 80 % hydroton to 20%coco mix?

pool shock is keepin the roots bone white, not one yellow or brown root at transplant

clones in coco perlite mix in coco pots just touchin the waterline.

floodin every 2 hours for 15 min.

great plants eksomi, checked out your grow. So the ewc tea is workin nice in hydro huh, sound cool.

I went the opposite way this time and i'm using pool shock which is bleach.

had to replant the coco pots lower, and noticed some fat bone white roots poppin out.

waterfarms vs. the flo n gro buckets..... buckets are crushin it... floodin 15 min every hour
farms have been 24/7 salty on top with shitty flow on 2, might try pbp or pura vida to cut down on salt buildup.

Yeah bro, the ewc is really keeping my plants and roots healthy. I have dealt with white slime (root issuse) the last couple of grows and the ewc tea completly killed all of the slime and the roots have flourished.

Plus it keeps my rez smelling very earthy lol almost like tea.

im havin an issue with my cap ebb and gro -it seems my drain cycle pump is always running -wearing out my pump and cooking the water in my rez any one else have this problem?

Well, your "drain pump" isn't in the rez, so I'm not sure how it would be heating it up. And if it was constantly running, your plants wouldn't get fed...sooooo?

Chances are you either have your pumps plugged into the wrong sockets on the control bucket, or your float valves are fucked up.

Hey cyat, nice thread. I just saw this system last week. I like it. I was in the process of building my own rdwc buckets system, but this one appears to offer a better return on investment and will save time; the most important thing in my opinion as I get older.

Good luck!

robert thats true its easy to setup, time is money

gonna swap out gh for 5ml of dm gold a/b flower. plants look greener with that in the flower room, to get 600 ppm with lucas had to run 5/10.. think it fucked with the ratio
