Big difference in my opinion. The site of a guys ass hanging out of his pants screams "future plumber!" And in class, I would avoid sitting behind a guy with baggy pants for fear of seeing his crack - ick.
In third grade I lost my favorite red crayon down the crack of a fat boy sitting in front of me. I am still traumatized.

Funny topic... I read that the trend started on Rikers when the smaller kids would wear clothes 2x too big in the hopes of looking bigger and avoiding a beatdown.

especially the nuts hunging part,, mine like to swing around free,, and the "skinny jeans being the gayest shit ever!" bit,,
where i am the kids these days wear beanies and scarfs with t-shirts even when its freezing and then those gay skinny jeans,, like a failed skater or something with no talent or soul,,
its a mix of fashion victims and comfort,, comfort wise id rather just wear a robe but people would think i was a flasher,,

Since I talked to several friends who had actually spent time in prison, they confirmed with me the OP original thesis, it's a prison homo thing...deal with it.
so everyone everywhere that has has saggy jeans they cant cover their arses with, is like that because of gay inmates in the us,,, thats how it started and then spread through rap/street culture into the fashion industry..
ok so why are fashion designers creating gayer and gayer clothing for heterosexual men to wear?
something about making men more effeminate possibly,, a less red blooded society,, disintegrating the old lines between male and female towards a more apathetic androgenous population,, where women wear the trousers and men just pull them down,,
im just wondering because i dont think the fashion designers still around learnt it first hand in jail,, and i dont think that most people on the ground are actually in control of the cuts of clothing being made these days,, its what people are told to like the look of through the media/advertising and idolatrous celebrity worship,,

i really get the impression lately there are organized forces working on dumbing down, weakening the masses, dilluting gender roles, effeminating men and emasculating women and thus weakening the entire structure of western society. its like ppl are kept weak and stupid on purpose. makes a lot of sense too because weak, dumb, frustrated, unhappy people are easier to control.
i see this shit everywhere around me. babylon at work. brave new world is already happening right now. its fucked up and most ppl are completely oblivious to it.
